**★★★★★ — HU-963260942, Aug. 2026**

> I’m SO happy with how our remodel turned out and all credit goes to Kirsten. Hiring her to design our kitchen/main floor remodel was definitely the smartest decision we made. We tore out the entire kitchen down to the studs, removed a closet that was in the middle of the house, refinished all the floors, added new dining and kitchen cabinetry, and new kitchen flooring.
>
> Kirsten was so efficient and practical. She really thinks about flow and functionality first, and then design elements to match.
> She charges hourly and is budget conscious. She came over, took some measurements, talked with me about what I wanted to be able to do in my house that I couldn’t do before, and then went home and came back to me with several different options for layout. While she’s not an architect, she did study architecture and has an excellent sense of what layout would give us the best clearance, which made the decisions easy.
>
> We did not have the skills to visualize the layout drawings and the materials we’d selected on our own, so her 3D renderings were just what we needed to understand how it would all come together. We even decided to change our tile to a lighter color and modify the molding atop the cabinets after she showed us the rendering.
>
> Primarily she worked with me over email and phone, but she took me shopping for our materials and had it all planned out for an efficient afternoon. I’m generally indecisive but with her guidance the many decisions felt quick and easy.
>
> She put together a very organized spec sheet for the contractor and was very responsive to questions throughout the project.
>
> All in all, we spent $2500 on her services (just 2% of the total cost of our project) which included multiple trips to look at materials to accommodate different tastes between my husband and me. It also included helping me shop online for specific light fixtures and bathroom fixtures, and meeting me at the house to choose paint colors. She was also really good about looking at materials or fixtures if chosen and telling me exactly why it wouldn’t work.
>
> She is so good at her craft that I’ve already hired her again to help me figure out furniture for our living room and a couple of rooms that we didn’t remodel.

> Thank you so much for your kind review! I really enjoyed working with you on the kitchen and I am excited to continue working with you on these new projects.

> Kirsten was highly recommended by our architect for a new home build. Completing this project would have been overwhelming without her – she has a great eye and really listened to us. She was endlessly patient in leading us to choices that we love . She's very hands on and met as often as needed at various vendors - her knowledge of what's available is invaluable as are her many vendor relationships in the Seattle area.
> The other side of design is coordination with the contractor. Our contractor loves working with Kirsten, in fact, I am sure all contractors do. She provides all the specs exactly as they need them, ensuring a precise blueprint to follow. We are huge fans!

> Thank you so much, Patti! It's been such a pleasure working with you.

> Kirsten was recommended to us by our contractor, and we couldn't have been more satisfied.
> We had one face-to-face meeting where Kirsten got to know us and our aesthetic. She had great suggestions based on her personal and professional experiences; budget-friendly but also high-quality. Our new basement apartment is gorgeous and receives rave reviews from guests. Photo credit: Cindy Apple

> Kirsten was very detailed and efficient with her time and mine. She had a knack for knowing what my taste was when selecting materials. Great communicator. She kept my contractor on his toes! I would hire her again and refer my friends and family to her.

> Thank you so much for your kind review, I really enjoyed working with you on your project.

> We have worked with Kirsten on two remodel projects now and simply could not have done it without her. Our first project was finding a way to turn one bathroom into two while making each functional and hopefully spacious. After months of us trying to figure it out on our own, she came in, took thorough measurements and put together drawings that helped us to envision the possibility. Our bathrooms turned out amazing and truly changed how we live. Our second project was a kitchen remodel. Kirsten helped us in picking out each material and detail. It was the organization insight that was invaluable to us: where to have pull out drawers, when to get in cabinet organizers, the flow of the kitchen, the drop zone. We couldn't be more thrilled about working with Kirsten and I highly recommend her for any future projects.

> Thank you so much, Kelly! It's been such a pleasure working with you on these projects.

> We are so lucky we found Kirsten! After living in our home for about 6 years, it was overdue for a complete refresh. We had a vision to add a bathroom upstairs, and redesign the layout of our main floor. Kirsten tackled the challenge with ease. She listened to all of our wish list, and re-imagined our entire space for life on the go with 2 kids. Not a single inch of space was wasted, and she was able to optimize every nook, cranny & morsel of space.
>
> Kirsten was easy to work with and was prepared for every single meeting we had. She wasted no time getting ideas together on possible lay outs, and then used her amazing 3D computer program to walk us through each of the design renderings. We took what we liked from all of them, and she whipped up a final layout within a few days. I can't overstate how helpful being able to virtually walk through the home was.
>
> What I love most about working with Kirsten was her attention to detail. From thinking about how door & knob handles would feel on your hand, to making sure we selected a bathroom sink that was deep enough and a faucet that provided enough clearance, no detail was too small for Kirsten to call out and have us obsess over. After being back in the home for about a month now, there is not 1 single thing we wished that we had done differently. Throughout the entire process, Kirsten was careful to give us all of the information but not sway us in any direction. She would lay out the pros and cons of all sides, and then throw it to us to discuss/decide.
>
> Did I mention her attention to detail? From geeking out over the seemingly infinite shades of white paint to her meticulous 20+ page spec sheet, nothing gets past her. And for that, we are forever grateful. I would not hesitate to recommend Kirsten, and would relish the opportunity to work with her again!

**Comment from Satterberg Desonier Dumo Interior Design, Inc.:**

> Wow thank you so much Dane! I loved working with you both on your project and I really appreciate your kind words. I am so glad that my help made the remodel process easier and think the house turned out beautifully!

> Kirsten took an unfinished basement and turned it into the perfect work-from-home living space for my daughter. This included a bedroom, family room with built-in desk and cabinetry, laundry room, bathroom and closet space. Each room is expertly designed and my daughter could not be happier.
>
> Kirsten is the designer you hope for; her experience, work ethic, dependability and creativity is everything you need. You can trust and depend on her to give you guidance throughout each step of the process.
>
> My daughter's smile as she happily moved into her beautiful, new rooms is the exact closure you want on a remodel project. Kirsten will help you get there.

**Comment from Satterberg Desonier Dumo Interior Design, Inc.:**

> Thank you so much! It was a pleasure to work with you and help you create the finished space you had envisioned.

**★★★★★ — Go Check, Nov. 2022**

> I had a small, dark, outdated kitchen. Kirsten did a thorough needs assessment and designed a kitchen that hit all the marks: great flow, great arrangement of appliances, work triangle. She made great suggestions for the type of countertops, appliances, sinks/faucets all based on how I cook. She suggested ways to customize and organize based on my style and the types of ingredients I use. There are two well-placed skylights because light is important to me and tons of storage. The kitchen is bright and extremely usable. Although we never met in person and did all of our work remotely, I would highly recommend using Kirsten for any or all projects. She is so knowledgable! She also spoke with my contractor and subs answering questions and clarifying as needed. She was a delight to work with and always made sure my questions were answered. If your kitchen matters, you should use Kirsten from Satterberg Desonier Dumo Interior Design!

> I had the pleasure and amazing fortune of working with Kirsten Dumo on the remodel of my newly purchased island house (circa 1975). We live on opposite coasts and began working together at the beginning of the Pandemic. Hence, 85% of the process was seamlessly remote.
>
> Process:
> The process was phased with a clear contract, initiation meeting, process meetings for the actual kitchen & bathroom layout, process and in person meetings for the style in terms of cabinets, appliances, fixtures, tiles, flooring, and hardware, with ad hoc sessions as needed. Kirsten provided detailed emails with links to her various choices and/or selections. She is trained as an architect so her understanding of spaces and dimensions is exquisite. Our layout uses every mm of space (astounding cabinet tips &tricks) but looks spacious.
>
> Design:
> Kirsten has close connections with a wide variety of vendors making the in-person meetings very efficient. Once initial choices were made, it was easy for me to visualize the remodel with the software that Kristen especially the 3-d reconstructions. One gets a sense for spatial relationships between the island and exactly what happens when the refrigerator doors or dishwasher opens. Misfit choices were obvious and corrected easily. Her layouts are detailed in a utilitarian manner. They are tailored to your use and consider vertical dividers, pull out shelf styles, broom closets heights, composting buckets, electrical outlets and lightening. The lighting plan was astoundingly useful and detailed incorporating inexpensive and stylish choices into the full plan.
>
> Stylistic selections:
> I found the stylistic selections overwhelming and beyond my attention span. Kirsten narrowed it down to specific vendors and selections making my streamlined decisions possible. Kirsten has close connections with a wide variety of vendors. This facilitated the in-person meetings and out time was very efficiently used. Once initial choices were made, it was easy for me to visualize the remodel with the software that Kristen uses to create 3-d reconstructions with plumbing fixtures, tile or appliances. Misfit choices were obvious and corrected easily. So grateful for the simplification.
>
> Output:
> Her output in terms of graphics is one of her superpowers. She provides multiple types of drawings including 3-D visualization. Her layouts include the details of use (e.g., what will be stored in specific cabinets or drawers. Her-3-D reconstructions such details such as the view out the windows, the view of one position (island) form multiple different rooms and angles. to Most helpful is her understanding of the construction process and requirements.
>
> Overall:
> Kirsten’s guidance and reasoning was clear but adaptable and her understanding of space, light and color are gifted. The process was astoundingly easy, fun & cost effective. With Kirsten’s vast knowledge we now have the peace & tranquilty we hoped for.

**Comment from Satterberg Desonier Dumo Interior Design, Inc.:**

> Thank you so much, it has been such a pleasure to work with you and I am so glad that my recommendations have been helpful.

> Kirsten at Satterberg Desonier Dumo Interior Design embodies the consummate professional. During the planning stage of our home remodel she was a great listener and pulled our wishes together in many creative ways that I could not have envisioned. Her knowledge of all phases of the project along with her informed suggestions of products to consider were invaluable. Kirsten’s attention to detail and timely correspondence were always productive in virtual meetings or email. In addition, here eye for style and color was appreciated both during planning and on our shopping excursion. Working with Kirsten was one of the more pleasant experiences during our home remodel. Five stars all the way around!

**Comment from Satterberg Desonier Dumo Interior Design, Inc.:**

> Thank you so much, Elizabeth. It has been a true pleasure to work with you on your project.

**★★★★★ — lisawestseattle, June 2021**

> In May 2020, with architectural plans and a permit in hand for remodel of my 1952 home, I contacted several designers recommended by a West Seattle contractor. My project included remodel of the kitchen and 3 bathrooms, creating a new laundry room, and complete re-wiring and re-plumbing of the home. I knew there would be many decisions to make about finishes and that I would need help!
>
> In June, I interviewed Kirsten and several other designers. I chose Kirsten based on her work shown on her website, and the sense I got from the interview that I would work well with her. Throughout the project, Kirsten is was responsive, thoughtful, and considerate of the general contractors’ timeline. And, she has excellent design ideas!
>
> She used my architect’s drawings to provide elevations and 3-D renderings of the rooms that were being remodeled. This helped me confirm that the plans I developed with my architect would work to my satisfaction. Working with Kirsten helped my project move along in a timely manner in coordination with the contractor. Decisions were simplified because she narrowed the choices thoughtfully: we visited 2 semi-custom cabinet shops, viewed tiles at 3 showrooms; she referred me to a salesperson at a plumbing retailer, and helped me make choices about light fixtures via Zoom. She also developed a lighting plan. She worked closely with the cabinet designer and the general contractor to make sure the cabinet layout and measurements were perfect.
>
> Kirsten helped me expedite my decisions about finishes by providing suggestions based on my ideas and her experience. Additionally, she created a specification document to track all the decisions made about finishes. She and I both made updates to the document as the project moved along. Kirsten was always willing for me to complete a task, such as updating the spec sheet, or if I preferred, she would do it. The contractor was grateful for this document!
>
> I had a specific palette in mind for the kitchen: green and grey from lichen and twigs seen on many of my hikes. For the backsplash, she showed me a beautiful glass tile that echoed those colors and that was it! The backsplash tile is the focal point of the kitchen and it is stunning! The kitchen flooring choice was fairly easy after that (marmoleum that coordinated well with the wood cabinets and the tile). She gave recommendations for neutral porcelain tile for the bathrooms and it is lovely. Every room was re-painted and the process of choosing paint colors would have been daunting, but Kirsten came over with paint chips, and recommended a few color choices. I bought the paint samples and painted swatches on primed sheetrock scraps. I made the final paint color decisions and am very happy with the colors.
>
> Kirsten is talented, well-organized, thoughtful of her clients and has fabulous taste in design. I highly recommend her!

**Comment from Satterberg Desonier Dumo Interior Design, Inc.:**

> Thank you so much for your thoughtful and kind review. It was such a pleasure to work with you on your project and I am so thrilled that my advice was helpful and that you are so happy with the finished project.

> I've worked with Kirsten on a few projects and all have turned out beautifully. I moved from a large house in Issaquah to a smaller townhome in Seattle. Kirsten helped me purchase appropriate new furnishings (furniture, rugs, lighting), for my new home and I couldn't be happier. Kirsten has a real talent when choosing colors, fabrics, style, and scale. She has always been professional and tailors her services to each client. She is quick, efficient, sensitive to pricing, and very easy to communicate with. I would definitely work with her again.
