> We searched and searched for house plans for our retirement home and could not find anything that worked for us on our lot, so we decided to hire an architect for a custom build. We liked what we saw on John's website and decided to hire him. He listened to us and came up with a great solution. He is working well with the builder and we cannot wait to start building. Highly reccommend.

> John Lehman designed a 2 story - 2 car garage addition for me. He was very easy to work with and revised the design a few times to ensure I was 100% happy with the end result. I would recommend his services to anyone doing a home addition/renovation project.

> We have worked with John on many projects, everyone has been extremely successful. This is a result of John's attention to detail, knowledge, and passion for what he does. As a contractor, John is extremely open to ideas and collaborations. He also listens and guides clients through the design process with extreme detail. We certainly look forward to working with John on the next project to collaborate and have another happy client who has enjoyed the process.

**Comment from Lehman Associates, P.C.:**

> Thank you very much for the kind words, PJ. The feeling couldn't be more mutual and I too look forward to our next collaboration. John

> We loved working with John. He had great ideas on how to make our house design even better than we could have dreamed of. We ran into several roadblocks in design vs. cost, and John found a solution for every one! We really appreciated his calm demeanor, his attention to detail, and his respect for our budget and crunched time frame. We would definitely work with John again!

> We received John's name from a friend. He was very nice to work with. He came with great ideas and reworked them as we asked. He patiently reworked them until he had it right. We are delighted with the final design and project . We would hire him again.

> I engaged John for a major renovation of my home. He is a pleasure to work with, both personally and professionally. John is extremely talented, creative and patient. He listens to understand what I want and strives for excellence with every response. I give him my highest recommendation.

**Comment from Lehman Associates, P.C.:**

> Alan, I have and continue to enjoy our ongoing working relationship. You know what you want and are quite decisive while allowing me the opportunity to express my own design influence into the final product. I enjoy our occasional moments when we just sit back and chat about "life" in general. Collaboratively, I am quite proud of our accomplishments.

> We have been working with John Lehman for a number of years and every project has exceeded expectations. Couldn't recommend more strongly.

> Upon learning that our family was going to be expanding, my wife and I knew we needed a bigger house. Our current three bedroom townhouse was barely meeting our needs at the time, and our needs were getting bigger in about 8 months.
>
> We started our search for an architect on Houzz. I did a search for local architects in my area, looked thru some project pictures, and liked what I saw on John's page. They have a button on there that you click on to get in touch with the architect. I thought well, I'll click on this, put in my info, and hopefully I'll hear from him by the end of the day. Within five seconds my phone rang, and it was John.
>
> John and I had a good initial conversation, and we agreed to meet in person with my wife to discuss designing a house for us. We met John a few days later at his home office, and talked with him about the whole process. At this point my wife and I were still looking for a lot to build on. John was very helpful in the beginning, even before we had signed a service agreement. As I was looking for properties, I would run them by John to get his thoughts on them. He even met with us and the realtor at two of the lots we looked at, before we signed a contract with him.
>
> Once we selected a lot and started the closing process, John was able to design a house for us from scratch based on our needs and wants within two months, so that we could close within 90 days of submitting an offer on the lot. This involved a lot of phone calls and a few face-to-face meetings to get the design just right.
>
> John is very receptive to feedback and changes to his design, but will encourage you to reconsider when he believes the change will have a negative or undesired outcome. Although sometimes it's easier just to go along with the client's wishes, but he tries to talk you out of any changes that you might later regret.
>
> In my case, John really has done more than just design a home for me. Because I involved him early on in the process, he was able to recommend professionals for other services that I would need, like realtors, surveyors, builders, banks, etc, as well as answer my questions about the build process and design ideas. He has worked very well with the other professionals that I have chosen for this project, who have, in turn, shown the utmost respect for his work and expertise. Overall, I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work with John, and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to build a custom home.

**Comment from Lehman Associates, P.C.:**

> Thank you so much, Mike and Heather, for the glowing review. Working on this modern design has been very rewarding for me and working with the two of you has been a true joy. As soon as we get past the remaining county hurdles, I (we) will look forward to seeing it come alive! Thanks again!

> John Lehman of Lehman Associates, PC was an absolute pleasure to work with during our master bath remodel. We had substantial changes to be made with plumbing, electrical and walls to be moved. John came to our home and talked through the ideas that we had and provided us a handful of drawings for us to review. He then took our comments and combined key elements from those drawings and provided our final product. A few things came up during the build and he came to consult with our contractor to find solutions that kept the integrity of the design. We would certainly recommend him and would contact him again if needed.

**★★★★★ — Ernest Tucker, Oct. 2016**

> We had been planning a significant make-over of our 24-year old home and had some high-level ideas of what we wanted to do that required significant structural changes to the house. We decided to enlist the services of a professional architect because we wanted to remove a 17’ wall between our kitchen and great room, and open up a load bearing wall between our kitchen and garage. Our plans included enclosing our two-car attached garage space and relocating our long, narrow kitchen from the interior of the house into the garage space which offered two 22’ exterior walls to work with, as well as moving our mud/laundry room and a half-bath into that space. We asked around and John Lehman of Lehman Associates, PC was highly recommended.
> We set up an initial consultation with John at our home and shared our ideas and questions with him. He immediately offered possible solutions to several things that had us stumped. Following this consultation, John gave us three conceptual drawings of different ways to utilize the new space which he left with us to consider for a few weeks. Through a series of very productive (and enjoyable) give-and-take meetings and draft drawings of the emerging design, John came up with the perfect design for what we wanted to accomplish. In addition to his critically important structural design and engineering knowledge and experience, John brought to bear some wonderful design ideas and helped us envision things that never occurred to us. He helped us think out of the box. Through this design process, John helped us visualize and then realize what had only been our dreams for the space.
> Our experience with Lehman Associates, PC was productive and satisfying from a professional relationship perspective, but also very enjoyable from a creative stand point. John’s wonderfully positive demeanor and willingness to work with his clients’ ideas, but still weigh-in with his professional opinion when necessary, was the perfect collaborative relationship for us. Even now as we’ve moved into the construction phase of the project, John remains involved, consulting with our builder on the important structural elements of the design. We highly recommend Lehman Associates PC to anyone who wishes to design or redesign their home.

**Comment from Lehman Associates, P.C.:**

> The first time I drove up to the house for an initial consultation, I found the property and the homes exterior to be quite charming. The inside living spaces, however, were visually separated by both bearing and non-load bearing walls so I immediately understood not only the homeowners concerns but their intended goals. By enclosing the 2-car garage, we had ample space to create a wonderful kitchen, laundry and mud room which is now directly connected through a small covered porch to the side driveway. The old kitchen space has now become the dining room and the expanded living/great room with its vaulted ceiling and central fireplace are now fully open to the adjoining living spaces with only two Tuscan style columns taking the place of a 27 foot long wall.
>
> The homeowners could not have been better to work with and together, we are now well into the transformation of \[our\] joint vision.

**★★★★★ — Kurt Kendall, Oct. 2016**

> John was a pleasure to work with and did a great job translating our vision into a solid remodeling plan. He was very receptive to feedback and did multiple iterations to get things just right.

**Comment from Lehman Associates, P.C.:**

> Thank you, Kurt. Your project came with a variety of unique challenges which certainly had all of us thinking outside of the box. I enjoyed working with you and Mariam and hope to have the opportunity once again in the future. I am always here!

  - Description: After 20 years of living in a 1980 era “contemporary” home, I finally decided to put my own client projects aside and focus on designing and updating our own master suite. So I retained my friends at ALC Homebuilders, LLC to help bring this vision to a reality. The existing space for the master bath was quite small but I did not want to encroach into the closet or the adjacent bedrooms and certainly did not wish to increase the homes footprint. We also did not need a tub as there are several oth…

## Community Q&A

**Q: what are the dimensions of this space?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love

A: The overall dimensions of this closet is 7'-9" deep x 7'-5" wide. I hope that is helpful!

**Q: porch posts** *(in Photo Questions)*

The porch posts are a nice scale. What are the dimensions? I ask as we have similar porch going in.

A: The porch posts are simply 6x6's with an Azek PVC wrap. The finished dimensions are around 6 1/4" x 6 1/4".

**Q: What type of siding is used here?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The vertical and horizontal siding was scheduled to be fiber-cement but unfortunately, budget constraints cut it back to a higher-end vinyl siding. The stone is cultured (man made).

**Q: Kohler Choreograph?** *(in Bathrooms)*

So we are planning on adding a tiny master bathroom to our home. Hubby is dead set against tile and in looking for alternatives, I have found Kohler Choreograph. Has anyone seen or used this product? Looks promising, but am hesitant to try it since it is so new and fairly pricey. I would prefer to use tile, but hubby is sick of grout, so this maybe a compromise to acrylic/fiberglass unit.

A: Hi Patti, The entire surround was with Choreograph and the pan was the matching Kohler "Groove". They are all holding up perfectly with no visual issues. Everything is supper easy to keep clean. I remain a big fan of these products and recommend its use.

**Q: Love the countertops can you please tell me the name and is it granite** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I am very sorry for it taking me sooo long to respond but the project was a few years ago and I couldn't recall until now. It was "Delicatus White". You can find many more pictures of it on \[https://www.houzz.com/photos/delicatus-granite-phbr0lbl-bl~l\_37636\[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/delicatus-granite-phbr0lbl-bl~l\_37636)

**Q: Is this Zuri decking in Weathered grey?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Yes, it is. We were pleased with the color selection and although we have not used the material before, we did our research and are very happy with the final product!
