> We had the JP Hoffman team work with us for a major renovation. From the start, Jason came for the estimate and was far more personable and knowledgeable than others, giving ideas and suggestions (before any work was being done) on how our home could be transformed. The only (minor!) downside was it took a good year of design, planning and preparation, BUT once demo started there was not a single day that someone wasn’t working on our home. Demo to project completion took 5 months for three bathrooms, kitchen, dining room and a deck. Even subcontractors said the JPH team was far more efficient than others they had worked with. In addition to their efficiency and craftsmanship, the entire team was extremely friendly and helpful. We had some difficulties with our yard during a rain storm and without asking, Todd, Mike and Austin came out to lend a helping hand. Such wonderful people, always saying hi, asking how we were doing and answering our many questions quickly and with a smile. We love and greatly appreciate the work the JP Hoffman team did on our home and would highly recommend them for any home renovation project.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Thank you for your feedback Kelly and Allen! We loved working on your home and watching your family grow in the process!

> After talking about renovating our kitchen for nearly 10 years, we finally decided it was time to move forward. We knew this would be one of the biggest projects we'd take on in our home, so we wanted to make sure we did it right. The challenge was that we weren't exactly sure what our vision looked like until we met Jason and Megan at J.P. Hoffman.
>
> From our very first meetings, Jason and Megan's creativity, design expertise, and attention to detail gave us complete confidence that we had chosen the right company. They listened to what was important to our family, introduced ideas we never would have considered, and helped turn our vision into a beautiful, functional kitchen that exceeded our expectations.
>
> Kim was also an invaluable part of the process. She helped us select the perfect materials, colors, fixtures, and finishes to complement the transitional style of our home. When we inevitably experienced "decision fatigue," her thoughtful guidance made choosing between countless options much easier.
>
> Once construction began, our project manager, Austin, was outstanding. He stayed on top of every day's schedule, communicated constantly, and paid incredible attention to detail. What impressed us most was that whenever there was something we may have questioned, he had already identified it and addressed it before we even had to ask. His professionalism and proactive communication made the renovation process far less stressful.
>
> Todd and Mike were also a pleasure to work with. Their craftsmanship was exceptional, and it was obvious they were highly experienced in their trade. They took great pride in their work, and it showed in every detail of the finished kitchen.
>
> One of the things we appreciated most about J.P. Hoffman was their commitment to the schedule they promised. They kept every phase of the renovation moving exactly as planned and completed the project on time, allowing us to host the holidays in our new kitchen just as we had hoped. Anyone who has lived through a kitchen renovation knows how important that is.
>
> The entire team made what could have been a stressful renovation an enjoyable experience. Their professionalism, craftsmanship, communication, and attention to detail were evident every step of the way.
>
> We couldn't be happier with our new kitchen. It's now the centerpiece of our home and a space our family will enjoy every day for years to come. We absolutely plan to use J.P. Hoffman for future home projects and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering a renovation.
>
> Thank you to Jason, Megan, Kim, Austin, Todd, Mike, and everyone at J.P. Hoffman for creating such a beautiful space and making the entire experience first-class from start to finish.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Keith and Jennifer - we cannot thank you enough for those kind words. You summed up our process and goals perfectly. Our team appreciates it as well. Enjoy the space ad we look forward to hearing from you again!

> I was fortunate to see Jason and his work crew performing work on a neighbor's house while I was searching for someone to repair / rebuild our front porch. The work performed on our neighbor's house was well handled and completed in a timely manner. So I chose them for my porch project.
> I found that working with Jason and his team was even better than I had hoped.
> I experienced a totally professional, planning, estimation and repair / rebuilding of our porch with full ongoing cleanup by knowledgeable personnel. And Jason and his crew was able to bring the project in below his original estimate. Always a happy ending.
> I have other work planned for our house next year and I plan to continue to use J.P. Hoffman for it.
> Quality speaks for itself.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> We're so glad you kept us in mind as we worked on your neighbor's property. Thank you for entrusting us with a piece of history!

**★★★★★ — Dana Johnson, Nov. 2025**

> We hired J.P. Hoffman for a major renovation of our first floor, including the kitchen, dining room, mud room and cosmetic enhancements to our family room and we had a great experience. From start to finish, the project was handled with professionalism, clear communication, and attention to detail. Having never been through this process before, both Jason and Meg walked us through the steps leading up to demo with such patience and care so that we were truly prepared for what was to come. Jason took our vison and created a very well thought out plan for the new space, using our feedback to modify it until it was perfect. We were provided with a very clear timeline for and expectations of when we needed to have selections made by in order to keep everything on track, as well as plenty of guidance around making all of our selections to keep us within budget. I am still amazed at the efficiency of the subcontractor scheduling; there were very few days during the project when no one was working on the house (and many days when multiple subcontractors were working at the same time).
>
> Jason and Meg took what seemed to be a very overwhelming process and made it totally smooth and easy. We are eternally grateful to them and love our new spaces!

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Remodeling is an emotional roller coaster for sure. We acknowledge that and ask clients to trust us in guiding them through the process. Your family leaned into that trust and it was an honor to collaborate with your family. You had the vision Dana - it was our pleasure to help it come to life.

**★★★★★ — Dean Sandonato, Oct. 2025**

> We hired J.P. Hoffman Design Build to remodel our entire home in 2020 and we enjoyed working with them so much we hired them again in 2024 for a basement remodel with a home office, 1 bedroom and a full bathroom. They did such great work on our house that our neighbors decided to hire them to do work on their house too. We're looking to add another bedroom to our house in a few years and we plan on calling Megan and Jason to do it. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a design/build company. They are the best in the business.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Once again, it's been our pleasure to work on your home. It's been so fun watching your family grow through the years and your continued faith in our team to create those spaces is not taken lightly. Thank you.

**★★★★★ — D & K Dunn, Sept. 2025**

> We are absolutely pleased with the results of the recent updates to the kitchen and bathroom in our 140-year-old home, a process that was overseen by JPH and included all details from design through final inspections. Planning and regular communications were key factors in the process. Their entire team, including Austin, Todd, Mike, subcontractors and suppliers were all personable, demonstrated professionalism and attentive to every detail. Without hesitation, we recommend JPH for the consideration of any home renovation project.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Thank you for the kind words and for mentioning our team. They always blush hearing your feedback!

**★★★★★ — Mary Dunn, May 2025**

> Working with the JP Hoffman team was an awesome experience. This was our first time doing a home renovation and the team really held our hands walking us through each step of the process from start to finish. Jason and Megan were super approachable with any questions we raised, they helped us create a space for our growing family that worked within our budget and they and their team turned what we thought was our starter home into our forver home. The team(s) on the jobsite were super professional (and hilarious) and communicated with us a ton on what they were working on, what was coming next and how each phase worked into the larger project. We're taking a phased approach that consists of 3 projects - we just completed the first (an addition above the garage that turned our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home into a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom with a master bathroom, walk in closet and laundry room) and we're already excited about when we'll be ready to tackle the next 2 phases. Not only do they tackle the big things like overcommunicating and working within a budget, but the little things as well - the jobsite was super clean the entire time, they sealed off the space they were working within so we had minimal disruption throughout the rest of the house. They cleaned up everynight before going home so there was no debris left around or garbage. We have little children and a dog and they all lit up when the "builder guys" were here because they were all so friendly and kind. A home renovation can be a big, stressful and intimidating project and for us it really did feel like we were working with people we knew for years, that we trusted and knew they had our best interest in minds. I would highly recommend the JP Hoffman team and the Design Build process.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> WOW! your words are fuel for our team Mary. Thank you for so thoughtfully painting a picture of the concept to completion+ relationship with your project. What means most to us is your kind words about our team. We too loved working with your family and look forward to the next phases when ready!

**★★★★★ — Theresa Orsinger, Dec. 2024**

> J.P. Hoffman had renovated the kitchen & laundry area of our 1780s home 7 years ago, and we knew we'd be calling them again once we were ready to replace all of our windows. Jason visited multiple times during the planning phase to ensure the window selection and construction plan would meet our practical needs while still retaining the aesthetics of the house. His team was meticulous during the construction phase, as each window required custom framing. As someone who works from home, I appreciated the entire teams' professionalism & courteous nature.
>
> As with the first project, Jason was upfront at all times with the costs, and was able to trouble-shoot and offer multiple solutions when addressing the unexpected challenges that inevitably arise when working with an older home.
>
> We would definitely use J.P. Hoffman for our next project.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> It's not lost on us that your family calls us back for all your renovation needs and wants Theresa. Thank you for continuing to trust our team with your beautiful home!

**★★★★★ — Shari Joyce, Dec. 2024**

> The whole JP Hoffman team was a pleasure to work with for our kitchen renovation and laundry room creation. From the beginning, on lengthy yet productive Zoom calls, trying to bring my scribble-y vision to life to completely rework our kitchen to give us much more usable space, Jason always had ideas that suited our needs. Megan was great with material selection, especially when I was overwhelmed with options. Project manager Austin had a keen eye for the smallest of details and made sure everything ran smoothly (dutifully assisted by my daughters’ favorite fluffy, four-legged project manager, Charlotte). He could always translate the subcontractors “shop talk” into what I could easily understand. Austin, Todd and Mike were a great team and always went the extra mile for our family. Even when there was an “oopsie” with the painting subcontractor, Jason was at our house in a flash to help fix the issue. We would not hesitate to use JP Hoffman for any other home projects in the future.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Thank you for your kind words and posting the finish photos of your space. From the new windows to relocating the washer/dryer that were in your kitchen and replacing with a walk-in pantry, we couldn't be happier for your family to use the new and improved space!

**★★★★★ — Christina Lau, May 2024**

> The JP Hoffman recently team transformed two full bathrooms for us: one primary and one hall bath. Our house was built in the 1930s, and the bathrooms hadn't been touched since at least the 70s, so we needed a long overdue upgrade. We couldn't be happier with the results. Not only do we now have beautiful bathrooms, but they are functional and have so much more storage than we could have imagined possible. It was a pleasure working with the JP Hoffman team from the first meeting. Jason showed enthusiasm for our home and was so knowledgeable about the history of houses built in that era. It took over a year to actually start construction, but we were fine with that as we had just bought the house and were still settling in. Once construction started, it took about five months to complete. There were some hiccups along the way (e.g., old pipes that burst and needed to be replaced) and we added to the scope of work (e.g., painting the entire interior/trim of the house), but it was well worth it in the end. Jason, Megan, Todd, Austin, Mike, and all of their subcontractors took great care of our house, kept the space as clean as they could, and were always available for questions, suggestions, and concerns. We look forward to enjoying these bathrooms for many years to come. Thank you JP Hoffman Team!

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Thank you for so thoughtfully mentioning each phase of our Design Build process. it was an honor to work on your home and we're so glad your every day spaces have been updated with form, function and aesthetics in mind.

**★★★★★ — Karen Bressler, May 2024**

> I called the company about one of their projects I saw on Houzz. They could not have been more helpful. They provided me with all the information I needed for my project in Cape May, N.J. If I lived closer to Boston I would definitely use them. Thank you J.P Hoffman!

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Thank you for your kind words Karen! It was wonderful speaking with you and I'm so glad you were inspired by one of our projects. Best of luck!

**★★★★★ — Omer Z., Dec. 2023**

> We reached out to J.P. Hoffman to help with the renovation of our basement. From the minute we met with Jason and Megan, we knew we were in very good hands. They were so transparent throughout the whole process, making sure we were aligned at every step and aware of all our options as we planned our dream space. Jason, Megan, and the whole team were extremely courteous and bring a wealth of experience to draw from. The end result was better than we could have ever dreamed of, and to say this company is professional, efficient, and thorough is an understatement. We highly recommend J.P. Hoffman and look forward to working with them again.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Omer and family - thank you so much for your kind words! We loved working on this space and appreciated your trust in our team. We can envision with you hours of play and productivity for years to come!

**★★★★★ — 1820s Cape kitchen bathroom office renovatio, Oct. 2023**

> J.P. Hoffman recently renovated the kitchen, bathroom, and office in our 1820s home. They did an amazing job updating and improving our spaces while maintaining and highlighting the charm of our old house, which we love. Everyone who stepped into our home and worked on this project was professional, kind, hard working, efficient, and trustworthy. The quality of the work is outstanding. I cannot recommend the team at J.P. Hoffman highly enough!

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Thank you! We too loved working on your home and tracking progress via our Instagram. Thank you for entrusting our team with your charmer!

**★★★★★ — Louis Steinberg, Oct. 2023**

> JP Hoffman renovated our kitchen, bathroom, and home office this summer and they did a phenomenal job. We have an antique cape with a lot of preexisting “wonkiness” to the floors, walls, and ceilings, but we did not have to worry once during the whole process thanks to the Hoffman team. They began with a thoughtful review of our space and spent a considerable amount of time planning a beautiful design. With our input at every step, it felt like a true collaboration on their part to get us exactly what we wanted. Jason and Megan, along with the project manager Austin, headed a wonderful team of carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and more. Shout out to Todd and Mike for their attention to detail and care they took with everything from hanging studs to finishing cabinets.
> We love our new kitchen, bathroom, and office, and what is almost too good to believe is that these spaces still feel true to the 200 year old house, despite being much needed updates.
> Thanks again to JP Hoffman for an amazing job!

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> This makes us blush Louis! Thank you for entrusting us with your beautiful antique home. We loved getting to know your family, learning some of the home's history and creating the space, you asked us to, trusting our process the whole time!

**★★★★★ — Meghan Politano, Sept. 2023**

> Everyone knows that having any work done on your home is stressful, but working with the JP Hoffman team made all the difference. Jason, Megan and the entire team worked seamlessly to make our project a success.
>
> From our first introduction call, listening to our hopes for the project and our budget. Through the design process, nailing down every detail possible before any work began. All the way through demolition, reconstruction and management of the different trades and subcontractors. With the oversight of Austin as our project manager the job moved smoothly and even finished within the promised timeline.
>
> In a project spanning the entire first floor of our home the workmanship speaks loudly. But the smallest detail of our children’s handprints in the cement of the new back stairs (initiated and executed seamless by Todd and Sam) was the surprise icing on the cake.
>
> We instantly fell in love with the space that the JP Hoffman team designed and built for us. After years of dreaming what our house could be, the JP Hoffman team helped transform our space into the home of our dreams.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Thank you so much for your kind words and for recognizing the craftsmanship that is at the core of what we do! Your family was a joy to work with and we're so happy that your dream kitchen is now a reality!

**★★★★★ — Breanne Diorio, Aug. 2023**

> J.P. Hoffman did an incredible job on our kitchen renovation. Jason's vision for how to reorganize the space to meet our goals for cooking and entertaining got us to an entirely new floor-plan that had never occurred to us. The team was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. They brought in subcontractors that were professional and clearly experts in their craft. Our project manager, Austin, always kept us in the know and was always honest, even when things weren't going quite as planned (as happens at some point in every home project!). For a few weeks after everything was finished my husband and I talked about how we missed having the crew around! We couldn't be happier with the outcome and the experience overall. Thank you, Jason & Megan!

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Thank you for the kind works Breanne! We thoroughly enjoyed working on your Design and Build. Thank you for entrusting us with your goals, allowing for a completely different design. We're so happy you're comfortable in the space and able to use it to entertain as you always imagined. - Jason and team

**★★★★★ — Serina Barkley, May 2023**

> I could not be more thrilled with our primary bathroom renovation by J.P. Hoffman Design and Build. Beginning with the initial inquiry email exchange with Megan through completion, they paid the highest level of attention to every detail of the project. Megan and Jason spent time understanding our familiarity with large scale renovations (none!), our budget and timeline. Jason met us to discuss the entire process, doing a fantastic job at setting expectations. The J.P. Hoffman contractual & budget process was straightforward and professional, giving us total confidence in what we were contracting for, how much it would cost, where allowances might be needed/expected, when payments were due and what their deliverables were.
>
> Megan tapped me into Houzz and we worked together on styles and ideas that I liked. She then provided me with just the right array of choices that were in line with what I had liked and within my budget. When my ideas changed slightly over the project, she jumped right in and actually came with me to appointments to pick out tile and granite. J.P. Hoffman provided a full suite of trusted vendors/suppliers for the job. Each one (plumbing fixtures, tile, granite cabinets, lighting, etc.) were all absolutely top notch. Megan came with me to the suppliers but, when she couldn't, she would provide me with detailed but clear instructions about what I needed to pick. Then, when I got to the supplier, they also had detailed instructions and walked me through every choice. All of the supplies came in on time and were just right. When the inevitable, tiny mistakes occurred (e.g. a chip in the toilet, smudged wallpaper), I didn't have to even think about it, talk to the subcontractor or call the supplier - J.P. Hoffman just took care of it and it wasn't even a blip on my radar. I never had to stress about a single thing during the entire project.
>
> The J.P. Hoffman employees (a contractor and a project manager) and the subcontractors were phenomenal. As part of the J.P. Hoffman process, we were assigned our own project manager, Austin. He was professional, knowledgeable, always answered texts and calls quickly, came by the project almost every day, and our dog adored him. This is actually a HUGE selling point for this company - their employees and subcontractors always cared that my pet was safe, didn't leave anything sharp or toxic around, and always stopped to say hello to her before starting work. Their contractor Todd was equally wonderful and a truly expert craftsman. Subcontractors were always on time and professional. My house was left spotless and dust free every day, with all supplies tucked out of sight. The job was finished on schedule, in budget and is stunning. Jason, Megan and the team deliver the highest quality, provide white-glove service and are truly just wonderful people to do business with.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Serina - your words are making us blush! You've picked up on so many of the little things our team is committed to, in an effort to create an enjoyable renovation experience for all!

**★★★★★ — vera geba, May 2023**

> J.P. Hoffman remodeled our laundry room and master bath and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Jason and Megan made the process easy -- from start to finish. Workmanship and attention to detail was top notch all around. Great project management and open lines of communication ensured no surprises and timely completion. A great team I would highly recommend.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> We loved working on your home Vera. thank you for your kind words and trusting in the Design Build process!

**★★★★★ — Cheri Kotlik, May 2023**

> I highly recommend JP Hoffman and the Design Build process! My husband and I bought the house he grew up in, which had a narrow galley kitchen and larger formal dining/living room that went largely unused by our family of 5. We came to Jason thinking we’d need an addition to expand the current kitchen. Jason spent time getting to know us and the pain points of the current layout. After many late-night zoom design sessions (and an “ah-ha” moment by Jason while he was on vacation with his own family) we landed on a layout that far exceeded our expectations, repurposing the current space and avoiding an addition. Meg was also really helpful with guiding me through material selection and my indecisiveness!
>
> During the construction process Jason and his team kept a tight schedule and we were well informed every step of the way. Their superb attention to detail, care and quality craftsmanship, and ability to come up with creative solutions on-the-fly makes this team second to none.
>
> Suffice it to say we will definitely hire Jason and team for future projects.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Thank you for your kind and thoughtful words Cheri! We loved transforming your home and honor the opportunity to do it with a family home!

**★★★★★ — Olive Green, Jan. 2023**

> I would highly recommend J.P. Hoffman team. My project included three separate spaces in house, master bathroom, downstairs powder room as well as the laundry room.
> From the design phase to completion, the project went smoothly and the issues that came up during the construction were resolved quickly and efficiently. Jason is passionate about his job, attention to detail and customer service. Throughout the whole project Jason and his team made sure that it was as stress free as possible. I was able to follow the construction schedule, i knew what is supposed to happen each week and the project was completed on time.
> Jason and Megan are a great team. I greatly enjoyed working with them and very happy with the end result. Would definitely use J.P. Hoffman again for any future projects.

**Comment from J.P. Hoffman Design Build:**

> Thank you so much for your review and feedback. We too loved working on your home. Even though they were 3 separate spaces - we enjoyed working with you to blend them together to create a cohesive design and construction process. Thank you for your past, present and future support!

**★★★★★ — Dean Sandonato, Nov. 2021**

> The J.P. Hoffman Design Build team made our dream home wants and needs into reality. We hired them in 2019, pre-pandemic, to design and build our home. They gave us their expertise, advice, and most importantly, their undivided attention throughout the process from start to finish which is exactly what we were looking for. They were always available in person and virtually to address questions we had throughout the process. The finished product came out exactly as we all planned it together. We liked working with them so much that we hired them to build our deck too which came out amazing and we are currently working with them on a basement renovation project. I recommend J.P. Hoffman Design Build to family, friends, and anyone interested in doing a design/build. They are the best in the business!

> We have done a number of renovations in the past. Working with the J.P Hoffman Design Build team was the best home reconstruction experience we have ever had. From the very start it was a true collaboration. At the initial walkthrough, Jason inquired about our ideas and was able to supplement them with very creative concepts of his own which ended up turning a neglected, rundown property into one which has our neighbors shaking their heads in disbelief at the transformation. We are truly pleased with our newly renovated home. Jason and Megan kept us informed of what was happening with the renovation every step of the way, advising us with plenty of notice as to what was needed on our part. As we were working with them long distance, we had numerous Facetime calls and progress videos sent to us throughout the project, which provided us with a true sense of comfort that the renovation was moving along on schedule and in the way we had anticipated. Without exception, the subcontractors were excellent as well, each providing a superior result. We confidently recommend their services. The J. P. Hoffman Design Build’s 5-star rating is well earned and absolutely well deserved.

> J.P. Hoffman Design Build renovated our first floor this past fall which included the relocation of a bathroom and a major kitchen renovation. We couldn't be happier with the end results - we love our new space. Jason and his team, as well as the sub-contractors, were all very professional and easy to work with. Jason is very attentive to details, knowledgeable and clearly takes pride in what he does. Multiple vendors that I worked with were also very complimentary of Jason and his work. I never felt rushed through the process, and I never felt hesitant to ask questions. The work was done within the estimated time-frame and there was a on-line schedule that was updated in real-time with any changes and showed the project timeline from beginning to end. I would definitely work with J.P. Hoffman again.

> I would highly recommend JP Hoffman to anyone looking for a design build firm. My husband and I hired JPH last fall to completely renovate the first floor of our home and add a master bathroom and walk in closet to the second floor as well. Jason laid out the process during our first meeting, and held true to that process throughout the project. From our first meeting, he was careful to listen to our wants and needs for the renovation and he worked to create the space we had dreamed of, while keeping us on budget. He and his project lead Todd were talented, knowledgeable and extremely professional. They maintained a tidy workspace, minimizing the intrusion on our family as much as possible. Lastly, he has cultivated team of subcontractors that also uphold his level of professionalism and craftsmanship. I would happily hire him for future projects.

> From the initial phone call to the first in person meeting and throughout the project Jason was great to work with. We had met with several contractors, but after meeting with Jason knew he was the right person for our project. The design and build concept was awesome as it allowed us to see several different design options, provide our feedback and see what the finished project would look like. Jason’s experience and knowledge were key as he provided some great ideas for finishing our basement, opening our first floor and renovating several bathrooms. Jason’s work is excellent, he is very professional and was a great communicator throughout the project. The work site was cleaned up every day. We highly recommend Jason and will definitely hire him for future projects.

Qualities I was impressed with included friendliness and professionalism of both Jason & Megan, along with work quality and ethics, ability to meet deadlines and budget. The proposal was clearly stated, contract helpful, and necessary insurance. An added plus was the painting, carpentry and disposal of related debris by Chris. Jason was our general contractor on a fairly big project, he was terrific to work with and we would hire him again in a heartbeat. > We recommend J.P. Hoffman Inc. without the slightest reservation. We had an idea of what we needed to make our bathroom safe for Carolyn who has Parkinson's Disease. We were pleased and surprised by how beautiful the finished project is. Jason has an eye for beauty and he has the skill to create it. He designed and built, from scratch, the sink and medicine cabinets (with mirrors on both the inside and outside, a double-door linen closet with space below ample enough to store all of our household paper goods, and a beautiful walk-in tiled shower (4'x5') with a completely level drain so there is nothing to step over! It works like a charm (no leaks).
> Then, to top it all off, Jason found space to put in a much-needed closet behind the bath-room for storing off-season clothing, bedding and shoes, as well as a rack for the iron and ironing board. This was a totally unexpected but welcomed improvement!
> We feel we should add a comment about Jason and his team. They were all a delight to have around--very courteous and respectful of our property. They didn't dilly-dally. Not only did they show up on the days they said they said they would be here, they cleaned and vacuumed the job site before closing up shop each day.

The calendar he provided outlining the schedule of what was to be accomplished each day was tremendously helpful. He was a calm and reassuring voice throughout.

> Jason is a true professional who takes pride in his work. He is very detail oriented and the quality of his work reflects his focus on the details. As an example, the installation of the tiles on our back splash was very time consuming to plan and install. Jason made certain the tiles were exactly the way we wanted them by color and design. Additionally, he and his team were very neat. They made certain their work area was swept clean each night prior to leaving. This made it much easier for us as we had to live in the house while the remodel was being completed.

> Jason installed a 10 foot window on the in-law apartment over our garages and re-shingled the entire side of the house. In addition, he added a 2.5' overhang roof running the length of the 3 garage doors and capped it off with a black metal roof, which accented our new black framed window. He also replaced much of the trim on that side of the house. His workmanship was excellent, efficient and timely. He also created a great looking shingle pattern that tied directly into the newly installed triple window. We were not sure what he was going to do with that but he exceeded our expectations. We have received tons of compliments from neighbors and friends. We are very happy to have had Jason (JP Hoffman) finish this part of our home and would use him again in a second. > We are not from New England and had never owned an older home. We purchased a 1920s colonial and needed help. Jason's knowledge of older homes as well as his passion to maintain and accentuate the character and charm that these type homes possess is what set him apart. We had a few projects that challenged him to work within the older structure and design of the home while still updating and modernizing it for our current lifestyle. Specifically, he built a second story laundry in a place that this home never intended one to be built. Jason, however, was able to beautifully integrate the design and build of the room to meet our needs and keep the home in it's original, but much improved state. Additionally, Jason replaced some windows and took care of other jobs necessary to update the home, but what we loved most about Jason is he makes your home concerns his. He isn't just in your home to do a job. He genuinely seems to take meeting your needs (and your budget) personally. He works with the care and commitment I suspect he would work as if it were his own home and cost. To say it most simply, we now trust Jason Hoffman to meet our home design and building needs.

> I fully endorse Jason Hoffman, not only as a contractor but also as a designer. Everyone knows the problems all too frequently associated with contractors working on home renovation projects, but Jason defied those stereotypes. He was courteous and respectful in all his interaction with us, conscientious and dedicated in all his work, creative and insightful in his designs, punctual in his work schedule, and persistent in his problem-solving. He and his apprentice, Jay, both pay great attention to detail, and Jason goes out of his way to be sure the "little things" are taken care of properly. Our project lasted several months, but at the end of each day they cleaned, swept, vacuumed, and put away all tools and machines to help make our living space a bit more "livable" throughout all phases of the project (including demolition). That made a big difference, especially when you have kids living in the house. Our project had lots of challenges, some anticipated, others unforeseen, since the house was original built in Sweden and subsequently relocated to the USA by a previous owner. Perhaps not surprisingly, there were a good many "surprises" once Jason opened the walls and ceilings, as European building techniques sometimes differ. Nevertheless, Jason worked hard to address all these issues in a way that kept us within budget. He understood that our budget was fixed, and there was no room for cost overruns. So sometimes unanticipated snafus meant modifying the design or giving up plans for certain particulars on our wish list, sometimes it meant that Jason gave up some of the profit he had hoped to make from the project. The point is that in each instance, Jason was studiously laid out the options, was honest and upfront about costs, and made every effort to find a compromise solution that accommodated our needs and helped us to fulfill our dreams. The quality of the work was outstanding: truly superb. It was a real pleasure to collaborate with a contractor of such high professional standards, integrity, and character. I recommend Jason Hoffman without reservation.

**★★★★★ — Michael Kohnen, Dec. 2016**

> We had water damage in our finished basement and needed to restore it back to it's original state. He essentially tore down our existing finished basement and rebuilt it from scratch. Here's why Jason Hoffman was an outstanding design professional. Naturally, he could see exactly what the basement looked like prior to demolition. He understood our desire to return our home back to our predamaged state. So, although it may sound simple when we said, "make it look like this", I assure you it was an enormous task. He took care of all the details. Colors, materials, finishes, etc, everything that we needed him to repair, he rebuilt and improved. He understood what we wanted and he completed the work without burdening us with having to remind him what we expected and desired. When doing a huge project like this, we did not want to have to tell a contractor again and again what we expected. Jason worked with us from the start to make sure he knew what we wanted, what we could afford, and how to best meet our needs. What made him amazing is that he offered design solutions to improve the quality and functionality of our space while always respecting our budget and schedule. We'd hire him again in moment. As a matter of fact, we have.

> Jason is a very honest, conscientious, dedicated home builder. My project had been one I had been envisioning for 8 years. Jason committed much time to us in the planning phase to understand our needs and budget constraints. He produced design layout options and was very responsive to our questions and concerns throughout the project. Having a house that was built outside of the US, there were many discoveries encountered once walls were removed and Jason was undeterred. He tackled each new discovery as a welcome challenge and was never discouraged nor did these unknowns delay the project. He would thoroughly evaluate what needed to be done and communicated immediately if it required a modification of any kind.

> Scope of work: New 16x16 kitchen that will match existing historic beam work; install 52 windows + interior/exterior trim; install and trim entry doors; side & shingle complete house (less garage); mud room extension/porch addition…
>
> We bought our home for its potential and its traditional styling. From the start the original kitchen was too small and we knew we needed to increase the footprint. We needed a major renovation and dreaded the process of selecting and trusting a contractor. The original owners built this home with history in mind when they replicated a home in Deerfield MA from 1814. We didn’t want to hand the keys over to a contractor that didn’t have an appreciation for the historical intention of the home. In fact once we discovered Jason (JP Hoffman Inc.) on HOUZZ, we drove by his home (before meeting) and seeing how he preserved the character when renovating his home, we were sold.
>
> Out of all of the quotes we received, Jason’s took the longest to come back and that’s because the time that he puts into the quote yields a realistic number which he will deliver. We did have 2 cost increases in the project, but neither were from JP Hoffman Inc. Jason didn’t spend a penny more than what his quote originally stated and this can be attributed to his diligence in pricing out the work initially.
>
> When purchasing our home, we were drawn to the 100 + year old (non-structural) beam work that the original owners added for historic appeal. Jason, in building our 16x16 kitchen addition paid particular attention to that detail and made faux beams that look remarkably close to the original beam work and that tie in so well to the existing beam work that the new construction kitchen looks original to home.
>
> We did have an architect draw our plans and that was before meeting/contracting with Jason. In many instances Jason enhanced the project with his creativity and design as well as brought to reality the architect’s intent and it is because of this I am convinced that JP Hoffman Inc. is a 1 stop design and build company.
>
> We are very pleased with our decision to work with Jason and very grateful for the results he delivered. Our objective from day 1 was to find someone who would be just as proud to complete the project as we are to call it a home.
>
> Thank you JP Hoffman Inc.!

> We hired Jason to design and build a second floor bathroom for the upstairs of a 1920's house that currently had only a single bathroom downstairs. This project quickly became a renovation of two bedrooms, the upstairs hallway, while adding a full bathroom. We had talked to other contractors and honestly did not think we would be able to add a full bathroom upstairs and keep all three bedrooms. Jason was able to come up with a design that included a full bath, allowed us to keep all three bedrooms, and looks and feels original to the house. Renovations are always tough especially with an older home, but working with Jason was very easy and refreshing. He will work with your budget to make sure you get the best product and services possible. I have and would confidently recommend Jason to anyone in the future for his exceptional customer service, his attention to every little detail, and his high standard of craftsmanship and workmanship.

> We hired JP Hoffman to remodel our kitchen and laundry room. Our house was built in 1780, and if we hadn't worked with Jason previously and recognized his abilities, we likely would've never attempted the remodel. There were a number of known issues with the space, and many 'unknowns' due to the age of the house. Jason and his team are committed to quality, and worked closely with us to ensure the end result blended seamlessly with the rest of the house. What we most appreciated was his ability to trouble-shoot issues and develop cost conscious, creative solutions while meeting all building code standards.

> J. P. Hoffman did a total kitchen remodel for us a several years ago. I cannot begin to express our satisfaction or appreciation with the way Jay handled the job. Jay’s skill and expertise were invaluable in every stage of the construction. He was a great help to my wife in choosing just the right cabinets, design and granite countertops. The project was started on time and completed on time. The workmanship was impeccable even when modifications were needed due to some imperfections in our existing structure. Jay and the workmen he employed were always careful and thorough in their daily work and daily cleanup (which was a work of art in itself).

> We hired J.P. Hoffman to renovate/restore our 1885 farmhouse. It was a huge job, essentially the whole house including new electrical and plumbing. We were looking for someone to keep the character of the old home but bring it up to date. This is exactly what J.P. Hoffman did. He was a pleasure to work with and was always available for our calls when we had questions and he worked with us to include all the features we wanted. When problems arose that were unexpected and not in the estimate he worked with us to make the necessary repair and stay within budget. He paid attention to the little details that most contractors wouldn't, like custom making trim in a new doorway to match the old trim in the room. At then end of the project we were almost exactly in line with the estimate (slightly under) and we got exactly what we wanted. The project did go over the estimated time but that was more an issue with electrical. Also his apprentice was nice, friendly, and did great work. I would recommend J.P. Hoffman to anyone and I look forward to having him work on future renovations.

> Jason is a true professional in every way and what is desperately hoped for when hiring a contractor. He is honest, trustworthy, reliable, hard-working, creative, intelligent and so much more. He is a designer, a builder, a foreman and an expert craftsman. He goes above and beyond at every turn and takes ownership of a project and is accountable every step of the way, even when not his responsibility, for every bit of minutiae. He is grossly attentive to detail and personally cares about what he does, how it's done and the outcome of the finished product, and it shows dramatically in his work. He is a great communicator and his client-centered, service-oriented approach means that he is not only responsive and reactive to a client's wants and needs, but he can also help make suggestions and advise, offering insight and staying one step ahead of issues that may not be thought of or otherwise considered, and his experience and know-how can absolutely be relied upon. He always has a "can-do" attitude and is undaunted in completing the job regardless of it's size and scale, or how many curveballs that may be thrown his way. I feel lucky to have found someone that is the epitome of what you hope for when hiring someone that you're counting on to make your vision a reality. I believe he is as good as they come and that over-delivering is in his DNA!

> Hoffman has done several projects for us in the past 8 years from cement siding and custom trim to kitchen renovation work. Jason is a skilled craftsman whose attention to detail match his reliability and integrity. Jason's work on our reproduction colonial is second to none. He listens and gives feedback which is invaluable.
> Jason works on your home as if it were his own home.

> We had Hoffman Inc renovate our bathroom. The work involved replacing the tub, shower and vanity; a new tile floor; tile surrounding the tub; and a new venting fan. The work was done on time, on budget and well. Jason was punctual and kept us apprised at all times about the project status. We are very pleased with the finished product and will contact Jason if future projects arise.

> We are on our third renovation project in under two years with Jason & JP Hoffman Inc. Currently we are renovating 2 full rooms, replacing ceilings on the entire second floor, new exterior and interior doors that Jason has custom built to fit the old door frames, new storm windows and storm doors. Previously he completely renovated our bathroom: http://1740house.wordpress.com/2014/04/11/our-bathroom-by-jp-hoffman-carpentry/ and before that took a very very outdated house that we purchased and updated all of the mechanical before we moved in (heat, electrical, some plumbing, gutted some rooms, etc...)
>
> Jason has always been so thoughtful with balancing our style and preferences while still keeping the functionality and historical touches in line with the house.
>
> He provides extremely honest quotes and when possible the actual work might come in under budget which leaves room for all the unexpected findings that come from a house build +270 years ago. We are fortunate that we can 100% trust his judgement in making decisions that won't financially cripple us or have us second guessing his design aesthetic.
>
> With all of our big projects he is mindful to keep his work and his sub contractors on schedule which is also crucial.
>
> We couldn't recommend Jason enough and will continue to hire Jason for years and years to come. (We still have a lot of house to be renovated and a 2 story barn on the property)
>
> We blog a little about our house here: http://1740house.wordpress.com/

> Opened up a supporting wall in an antique colonial, while maintaining the original character of the home. He is highly knowledgeable about his trade and specifically older home construction, which is invaluable in understanding how to evaluate the structure and condition of a home prior to doing any work. I highly recommend him.

> Between June 2013 and April 2014 Jason completed several small projects for me and I am extremely pleased with all of them. He reconstructed a built-in cabinet in my dining room to accommodate different usage, installed a range hood vent, put in crown molding in another room and lastly, refaced my bathroom cabinets with new doors and hardware. Jason is very knowledgeable and he is particular about doing a job well. The crown molding was a challenge because in my old house the walls are neither plumb nor square but the results were excellent. The paint work on the new cabinet doors looks like a factory finish - perfectly smooth and even. Jason was very open about discussing the pros and cons of different options, making adjustments for budgetary limitations and answering questions. I have no hesitation in recommending him.

> I asked Jay to build me a pergola that my wife had picked out of a magazine and had fallen in love with. Jay was able to construct the pergola in a very timely matter and to the exact specifications of my wife who wanted it to replicate what she saw in the magazine. Jay's attention to detail and communication was something we had never experience in a contractor and were taken back by how much he made customer satisfaction a priority. After the wood had been delivered Jay painstakingly went through every piece of lumber to insure it was just right and would look appropriate for the backdrop and the patio in which it was over. Jay is a true professional who makes his passion for his craft evident in the work that he does. Do not hesitate to call him, because we certainly won't again!

> We hired Jason to build a farmer's porch on our colonial and we could be happier with the end result. Jason worked with us to design the porch and it was an easy process from the beginning. He is very thoughtful about about some of the issues the project presented and provided multiple suggestions for a solution that, in the end, only enhanced the look of the porch. Hands down, this has been the best experience we have had with a contractor and will not hesitate to hire Jason again for other projects.

> J.P. Hoffman is a reliable service provider. He always completed renovations on schedule. He also referred excellent sub-contractors to assist with the renovation. Overall, the quality of his craftsmanship when renovating our home was the most admirable aspect of the services. We absolutely plan to hire J.P. Hoffman for our next home renovation!

> I recently purchased a house built in 1955 house and hired J.P. Hoffman Carpentry. The back of my house was demolished to studs; my kitchen went from a narrow u shaped to a lovely galley, my bath was enlarged with a bigger vanity, a handicapped shower and room for a walker or wheelchair to be maneuvered (for future needs) a laundry room between them which includes a whirlpool tub and washer and dryer. Jay also took 4 ft. from the family room to make a hallway, added a back door with dormer and built a 22x12 deck. We had a few extras that needed to be done (new electrical and heating system) so I did go over budget, but Jay made sure it was done economically and with the same quality which is first rate. He listened to my needs and adjustments wanted. He designed a progressive space that I will be able to live in as I age without problems. He listened to my suggestion about changing placement of refrigerator without any argument and saw the benefit. He does quality craftsman work. It will last! We had a few challenges with a couple of sub-contractors but they quickly came back and corrected the situation or I would call Jay and he would be here the next day. I am very satisfied and very happy with my new home.

> After seeing Jason Hoffman laying stones for a wall in front of his own historic property, we contacted him to bid on an exterior restoration project at our home. From the onset, he was professional and conscientious and his staff was a friendly, hardworking extension of his company. We were impressed with Jason's innovative ability to merge historic elements with modern efficiency. When our four-square colonial home was built at the start of the 20th century, breathable mesh layers were not available; however, we added one to the restoration and plan to reap the rewards of longevity for the new cedar shingles and overall house structure. Jason also has amazing attention to detail. The removal of multiple layers of shingles revealed that the window sills had been cut to fit the raised shingles. Jason remade the cut pieces, attached them with an epoxy, and finished them into a seamless sill, restoring the original design beautifully. He also was open to our ideas to stay true to the original design of the house. When replacing the gutters, he suggested a circular design that would reproduce the shape of copper gutters, but in an aluminum material. If you are seeking a full service restoration professional, please consider JP Hoffman Carpentry. You will be hard-pressed to find a more passionate local craftsman.

> Jason Hoffman remodeled my bathroom and kitchen, in a 1930s colonial home. His attention to detail is exquisite and his taste is great. He did an excellent job, recommended fixtures appropriate to the age of the home, was easy to contact if changes were requested or if there were issues that needed to be addressed. I have hired him to do other jobs and would recommend him highly to friends and family.

> We just completed several home improvement projects with JP Hoffman Inc, and we could not be more pleased with the experience we've had. From the design to completion, Jay and his crew have proved extraordinarily professional, conscientious, helpful and detail-oriented.
>
> When we first got in touch with Jay, we wanted to finish our basement and were considering possibly adding a front porch to our home. My husband wanted a portico, I wanted a full farmer's porch, and neither of us could see the others' vision. After talking all of this over with Jay, we were thrilled to receive a rendering of a porch that not only fit both our criteria, but looked exponentially better than anything either of us had imagined. The finished porch is genuinely a work of art!
>
> We assumed the basement would be very straightforward, with the end result looking much like any other finished basement in New England, but what we received instead is another living space in our house. As the work progressed, we could see little touches of the details Jay puts into every project he undertakes. Our beams have a beautiful beaded edge that add such a finished look to the space. And instead of leaving our basement sashes as they were, Jay thought to add window casing around each of them, giving them the appearance of a much fuller window. A friend who was visiting yesterday said she wasn't surprised at all that our daughters wanted to play down there all day long since it was one of the warmest, coziest rooms in our house.
>
> The last project Jay completed for us was a new mudroom to the entryway from our garage. We'd talked a few times about my frustration with the lack of good space for kids coming in and out of the house, and we were thrilled with the plans Jay drew up for us. Not only do we have the added functionality I've been hoping for, but the room adds such wonderful character to our first floor. Jay took a hallway that did nothing more than serve it's purpose of allowing you to move from the kitchen to the garage, and turned it into a beautiful little room.
>
> Almost as important as the actual projects that we contracted for, we found that working with Jay was such a pleasure. When he said he would be at the house at 7:30, he was there at 7:30. Our property at the end of each workday was left in better shape than when he arrived. While the basement was in the early phases, I was surprised at how clean everything looked before they left each night. Any tools, sawdust, debris that was there during the workday was completely cleaned up by the time they left. The driveway was swept and washed down and floors were vacuumed, all a demonstration of the respect I felt Jay had for my home.
>
> Another thing we were pleased to find was that our projects were kept to the budget we had set aside for each. We didn't encounter any surprise bills or add-ons, again, a mark of Jay's professionalism and integrity as a small business owner.
>
> From the design and build phase through the budgeting and the full completion of all three projects, we could not be more pleased with Jay and his team. I have been highly recommending JP Hoffman to friends and neighbors since he began working with us, and look forward to many years of home improvement projects with them.

> My wife and I hired Jason to do extensive work on the 1740 farmhouse we recently purchased. Work included structural reinforcements, masonry, plumbing, HVAC and electrical.
>
> After meeting with several contractors we picked Jason because he was by far the most responsive and best communicator, we felt he gave a thoughtful and realistic quote, and his aesthetic sense matched ours. After giving him the go-ahead he spent several days at the house with his sub-contractors getting quotes and the exact scope of work finalized. I think this attention to detail and planning is what helped our project go smoothly and within budget.
>
> Throughout the process Jason provided timely updates and requested our input whenever he came across anything we hadn't previously discussed.
>
> In the end and after adding work in a few areas as problems typical of an old house were discovered, we ended up within 5% of our original budget and were able to get even more done than we had originally planned on. Overall we were very happy with the work performed by Jason and his subcontractors and the service Jason provided. We are planning on more renovations over the next few years and will bring Jason in on these as well.

**★★★★★ — Kendra Stokes, Nov. 2013**

> We hired Jason to do a small project in our house to allow for better flow from the kitchen to living room area. The project although small was extremely important to us as new homeowners. Jason cut a large pass-through between our living room and kitchen. This included adjusting a door way and adding trim around both the door and cut out. Jason took time to explain why he thought certain things should be done and what options we had. Jason was a breeze to work with. He went over the plan and contract in detail, and then scheduled the work. He completed the work on time and under budget! He was sensitive to our schedule and kept the space clean. Its hard to find quality, honest contractors in today's world, but Jason certainly is one of them! I am looking forward to future projects with JP Hoffman.

> JP Hoffman remodeled our kitchen this past spring. Not being a natural at design or decoration Jason and his team took the time necessary to help us design our new kitchen. We did a complete remodel including flooring, cabinetry, backsplash and removed a wall to create more flow in our home. We chose Jason Hoffman because we could tell early on that he would be available to answer questions and that he focused on details. He was able to help maintain the rustic look of our kitchen while combining a beautiful functional design. Jason and his team were professional and pleasant to work with. We couldn't be happier with the results.

## Community Q&A

**Q: mirror and sconces from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where is the oval mirror from?

A: Thanks for your question! Unfortunately, I don’t have an answer to this one as our client purchased the mirror directly

**Q: what color cabinets is that?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you give the name of the color cabinets ?

A: It’s called “Sagebrooke” from the cabinet company Candlelight Cabinetry

**Q: I love the shelf above the toilet. Where can I find that?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where can I find the shelf above the toilet?

A: Thank you for your comment! It was the one thing previously owned by our clients. So I do not know but maybe try reverse look up on Google if you take a screenshot of the image.

**Q: Where is the rug from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hello! Where is the rug from in the photo with the black metal bed frame!

A: Hello! Our homeowner/client provided both the bed and rug so we don’t not have the source. Thank you.

**Q: Plumbing fixtures and mirror** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hello! I am wondering where the fixtures and mirror are from. All of the metals match perfectly- are they all the same brand? Beautiful!

Thank you!

A: Hello! Thank you for your question. The plumbing fixtures are from the Brizo Litze collection with the T-lever handles in the Luxe Gold finish. We did not provide the mirrors - our client purchased those directly and I do not know where she purchased them from. I can tell you that she did a lot of leg work to find matching finishes. I believe she did an internet search and found a blog post from another designer that made suggestions based on the Brizo Luxe Gold finishes and found the mirrors that way. Thank you and good luck!

**Q: what color is vanity?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What color and brand is the vanity?

A: The vanity is from Candlelight Cabinetry. The color is a custom color they matched to another brand's (JSI Cabinetry's Dover Castle)
