> We chose Craftsman’s Choice after much research into siding companies. We were excited for the James Hardie siding, and working with Mark and his team was smooth sailing start to finish. The team was reliable, working efficiently but thoroughly. Customer service was above and beyond! And the end result was spectacular.

**★★★★★ — Jeffrey K, July 2026**

> We discovered Craftsman’s choice at the Minneapolis Home + Garden show while looking for siding vendors. While there were similar vendors at the show, Craftsman’s Choice stood out with their professional interaction. It was more about explaining their culture and how they approach projects. They seemed like a perfect fit. We wanted a mutually beneficial partnership with a company that would put quality first, stand by their work while providing a professional level of service. We wanted a fair price, but also one that would work for Craftsman’s Choice to ensure a long and successful relationship.
>
> Post project we cannot be happier. Our home was transformed and looks amazing. The teams working on our project were all long-tenured professionals. They handled the few issues that arose quickly and without hesitation. One issue impacted a natural wood siding focal point of our design. While the issue was only cosmetic, the fix would be difficult and expensive to fix. While we were on the fence if the fix was worth it, the team pushed to make sure we were completely satisfied. They came up with a great solution implemented without any charge or push-back.
>
> Craftsman’s Choice completed the project on time and on budget. We love the final product and the team of professionals who made it happen.

> Our customer representative from Craftsman, was by far the most knowledgeable among the companies we considered for our siding project. In addition, Craftsman was the most flexible in listening and considering what we wanted and needed. We have referred multiple friends and family members to Matt and Craftmans. The consistent theme in selecting Craftsman is knowledge, flexabilty and price. I have and continue to recommend Matt and Craftsman, including my own daughter.

> Craftsman’s Choice is our go to for home projects. They have done our siding, roofing, and most recently, door replacement. We are so pleased with how all of our projects have turned out and would highly recommend them. Many of our neighbors have also had work done by Craftsman’s Choice.

> In the fall of 2025, we did a makeover on the front of our house. This included new windows, siding, portico and stone work. We did our research and reached out to customers about their experience before deciding on Craftsman Choice. The feedback helped us make our decision to use them. The team at Craftsman Choice helped us with the design of the Portico, they were great to work with and very professional. The project went well from start to finish. Customer Service is top notch. We love the finished project and would highly recommend Craftsman Choice.

> Working with Ben and Warren at Craftsman’s Choice was an excellent experience from start to finish. Their professionalism and expertise really set them apart. The crew treated our home with respect, kept the work areas clean, and paid close attention to every detail.
>
> From the interior window installation to ensuring everything was properly sealed after installing our James Hardie siding, their craftsmanship was clear throughout the entire project. The quality of the materials they used was outstanding—especially the Marvin windows, which have been a fantastic upgrade.
>
> We couldn’t be happier with our decision to go with Craftsman’s Choice and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-tier workmanship.

> I hired Craftsman's Choice to replace the windows, siding, roof, and deck on my house. In addition, they added a portico over the front door and false dormers to the house and garage roof. The work they did was absolutely first class. It was obvious that they were all committed to doing the work right the first time and that they wanted to make us happy. The professionals that performed the work were all very personable and very professional. They were always willing to answer our questions and they made suggestions to correct two pre-existing issues with the house. 1. The original roof over the front step was very plain and just plain ugly, so they sketched up an idea for removing the original roof over the front step and adding a portico with 6/12 roof pitch. To tie the portico in to the rest of the house (which had a 4/12 roof pitch) they suggested an option to add false dormers with 6/12 pitches on the house and on the garage. We agreed that they should do both the portico and the false dormers. 2. The original garage roof had a large hump in it which was the result of incorrect framing by the builder. Craftsman's Choice came up with a way to correct the problem without removing and replacing the trusses. Their solution worked great and the roof is now straight. We couldn't be happier with the results. The curb appeal of the house has been improved dramatically. I would absolutely hire them again.

> i researched and got bids from several contractors to complete the installation of Hardie siding on my home. I chose Craftsman's Choice because they spent the most time working through the details of the product, their process and the benefits I could expect to my home. The company proved to be very knowledgeable and dependable as the project took shape.
>
> They not only did the work as originally described, but also corrected a few problem ares that were uncovered along the way with the existing Hardie siding (installed much earlier by another company). The charges for the additional work were very reasonable, so the overall budget for the project was not significantly affected.
>
> The crew was also very polite, considerate and professional. The site remained clean throughout the installation and the talked with us about any inconveniences we should expect - before the work progressed to that point. Attention to details was very good from demolition through prep, fitting, attaching the siding and final caulking.
>
> Overall, this was a highly satisfactory outcome.

> We have loved every experience we've had with Craftsman's Choice! They provide excellent communication, are on time, clean up appropriately at the end of the day, and have provided thorough follow up on any of our questions. They are all extremely nice people to work with, and we will continue to use them for any future projects!

> I have a 85 year old farm house. I have had all my windows repaced through Craftsman's Choice. They did an excellent job. I also had my roof redone, also an excellent job. Will be using this company in the future for all exterior work on my home Melanie Bergef

## Community Q&A

**Q: What is the color of the metal accent roof?** *(in Photo Questions)*

We are using the James Hardie Iron Gray with white trim & a Therma Tru front door in Barley. The main roof will be shingled in an architectural style (Hearthstone Gray). We are having trouble deciding on the accent roof color. We will use a metal roof for the those. I really like the look of the metal accent roof here.

A: Hi there. The color of the metal is Medallion Bronze from ACM. Here are some other photos of homes that we have done that have metal roof accents. https://craftsmanschoice.com/tag/metal-roofing/

**Q: Will James Hardie Iron Grey siding work for this 1980 exterior update?** *(in Polls)*

Updating my exterior- keeping the old web stone but want to modernize with siding and roofing. Also plan to update the front porch with a trex deck and new landscaping. Considering James Hardie Iron Gray siding, but nervous about it looking dark hunter green. I plan to soften the dark siding with a wood front door and some wood accents with decking, modern flower boxes, etc. The visual change of the dark color is shocking for me and I'd love to hear from you as to whether the change would be appealing to you. If you don't like it, what are your suggestions? If you're familiar with JH Iron Gray, do you think it tends to look deep green?
Thanks for your help!
-It's a big decision.....
Original

Proposed Sketch (So hard to visualize since the stone isn't exact.):

Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to be able to go with the metal roof, so it will be an asphalt shingle.

A: I haven't seen it look green. Here is a collection of the Iron Gray houses we have done:

https://craftsmanschoice.com/tag/iron-gray/

Good luck!

**Q: Craftsman color scheme using James Hardie products.** *(in Photo Questions)*

What are the colors used in this photo. And roofing? Really love the simplicity of the scheme. Thank you.

A: Hello!
The siding color is Monterey Taupe, the Staggered Shakes color is Cobblestone and the trim is Sail Cloth.

**Q: Shingle color and manufacturer** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Shingle Color: Weathered Wood
Manufacturer: GAF

Thank You!

**Q: Do you happen to know what color the metal roof is?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Need to know the color and manufacturer of the metal roof.

A: The metal manufacturer is ACM and the color is Dark Bronze.

**Q: Can you tell me color of siding?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Thank you in advance

A: Woodstock Brown
