It could be just how he picture was rendered that gives it more of a blueish hue and also environmental light changes to the color. I would like salt water and curious rue best base .. seems concrete is much more expensive .. and have heard more difficult to deal w Algea and also in Midwest cracking A: Hi Heather, It is a gunite pool. Gunite is a mixture if cement and sand sprayed over a rebar structure. The surface is then finished with a pool plaster and in this case we used a dark gray colored plaster. The coping is concrete that was given a washed finish to make it look older and not like brand new concrete.
