I'm a mother of small children (and not much of a cook) so Debra's insight into kitchen flow and utility and creating a family-friendly space drew from her personal experiences and went far beyond professional training; proving invaluable in the end-result. Debra was also very instrumental in managing the entire project and dealing with contractors etc. She even took me to a discount tile warehouse to find tile for the mudroom floor. The first, a complete renovation of the primary house for which they took what was basically a spec house and made it into a very elegant country home. Their sense of space, proportion and choice of material was outstanding. The second project was a two-story addition following the renovation. Again, they imagined and executed an absolutely exquisite room on the first floor and walk-in closet on the second. Both rooms had thoughtful details which afforded great natural light, and a sense of coziness inside. The third project was the complete renovation of a garage apartment for two teenagers. They took a difficult space, moved a bathroom, added a bedroom and realized an outstanding loft like space, with contemporary details achieved using traditional materials. The result is a comfortable and highly workable space, which affords privacy in the bedrooms, lots of storage and a relaxed family style in the living room with open kitchen.
