## About

### Houzz Badges

- Houzz Influencer

Home Decorating Help by Leah Rand is for those on a budget who want a beautiful home , but lack the time or confidence to do it themselves. While most designers seek clients with budgets of 100K or more, I've found the majority of clients have budgets far less than that. They just want to give their home a little updating and work with much of what they already own. This is where I come in. Through my knowledge I can simplify the process and help you achieve the look you want without breaking the bank.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Curtains for window** *(in Home Decorating)*

Looking to brighten this corner up. Possibly a print curtain? Thank you

A: How about a white drape with a large geometric pattern or medallian shape ? Any color with a rug or new pillows for those chairs that ties it all together? Window hardware is nice!

**Q: Living room needs a revamp** *(in Home Decorating)*

Hi guys! I am seeking some advice. I would like to revamp the living room but I'm not sure how to. I want to do cladding behind the TV however I'm not sure if I should do the whole wall or just a small portion where the TV is. I also feel the room needs more colour. Please can you assist.

A: Likefriday, what program/app did you use for your rendering? It's great! Is it easy to use?

**Q: Need paint color advice** *(in Paint)*

I am in the process of remodeling my kitchen. It's almost done. I have white cabinets and charcoal island. my backsplash is white subway tile with a pattern under hood. the hood is not blue but stainless steel but still has protective coating on it because contractor is still doing work in it. My house is very dark and only 1700 SQ feet so I want light and airy. I was thinking gray owl and simply white for trim? do you think that would work? I tried Revere pewter and it looks very muddy in my house so that won't work. in addition, my living room, dining room and family all have an entrance into the kitchen. those rooms feel very closed in. should I carry the same Color from the kitchen to the other rooms? what is a good color that gives a light airy feel for the remainder of the floor?

A: “Worldly Gray” its a warm taupey gray. I think is SW or BM

**Q: looking to update** *(in Photo Questions)*

I want to change to quartz counters and different flooring. Suggestions...

A: Try stonepeak ceramics

**Q: Help~what paint color to choose** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I picked Ocean Air by BM to paint one of the bathrooms with matte marble look tiles. I liked the refreshing feel from this paint color but it turned out to make the tile look darker and dirty. Please see picture below.

I have to get a different color. Any advice?

A: I think I would get some paint sample strips from the store, try to match it to the dark patches in your marble then paint the wall the lightest shade on the strip.

**Q: Modern Curb Appeal Ideas..** *(in Landscape Design)*

Hello!

We recently discovered that our brick planter boxes in the front of our house are infested with ants and we need to get them removed. I would love to hear any and all ideas you guys might have to create more of modern look for the outside (that also won't break the bank).

Thank you so much!

Nick

A: I don’t think I would replace the planters. How about giving yourself a small patio space w a pergola extending from your roofline?
