> We had a great experience working with David at Meyer Flooring on several rear additions and ADU conversions. David's calm demeanour and expertise in residential renovations were a real help. As a project manager, he was highly organized and effective in their communication. I would definitely recommend Meyer Flooring for future projects.

> I'm impressed. I was driving down the road and this guy in a Meyer Flooring truck pulls up beside me to tell me the sheets of plywood I had in the back of my truck were about to fly off. I thanked him and pulled over to secure things properly. A minute or so later he pulls over and gives me a hand. Offers to give me a couple straps if I didn't have any. Makes sure everything is good before he goes on his way.
> A nice person would tell you to secure your load and be on their way. What does it say about a person that not only does that but also helps you fix it and offers to give you equipment as well?
> I can't speak to his workmanship but I can speak to his character. Any person that would go out of their way to help a stranger with absolutely nothing to gain is the type of person I would trust to put flooring in my house.
> Thanks again. I made it home safe.

> We had our bathroom completely re-modelled. Dave did most of the work himself & has a fantastic eye for detail. The finished result was amazing & we will definitely be using his services again.

> Dave was recommended to me through one of his customers that works with on my team. His praise for Dave and his team convinced me that this was the contractor we had to have. He installed our Marble backsplash with perfectionism. We are very happy we went along with the recommendation and now find ourselves doing the same to our friends.

> Dave and his installer from Meyer Flooring went above and beyond for me! I was one of those "nightmare" customers that kept changing her mind resulting in three different quotes, changed the installation date one week before the work was to be done and then made a last minute call to Dave that my husband was unable to remove the existing carpet and could he please do it. With every change I made, Dave made sure that I was able to stay within my budget and meet the challenge of an impossible deadline. I took possession of my house on a Friday and had movers scheduled the following Thursday. Sounds easy enough, however, they had to work around painters and I kept changing my mind on the flooring, from different types of flooring ideas, carpets and colours. Dave has a great eye, and as a professional, was able to walk me through what type of flooring would look great, provide the most durability and how to stay within my budget. When I finally settled on the perfect selection, I had compromised the timeline to have the carpets installed before the movers were scheduled to arrive and I was frantic. I phoned Dave everyday for about a week to inquire on the status of my carpet. He always treated me with respect and kept me positive reducing my stress as to what was going to happen if the carpet wasn't going to make it in before the movers. It finally came down to the day before I was to move into my new home. I received a phone call from Dave at 11:00am that the carpet had arrived in Toronto and he was personally going immediately to pick it up and his installer would be at my house that afternoon to get the job done. I was so thrilled! The installer sent by Meyer Flooring was a blessing. Starting a job at 2:00 in the afternoon, I would assume, that he knew it was going to be a long day. Mike was very courteous, didn't seem at all concerned with the task in front of him and he did an excellent, very professional job taking his time to make sure that it was done right instead of rushing through it to get home. Dave and Mike finished the carpet installation, and walked out the door at 10:45pm, leaving the area clean and clear of debris. I am beyond grateful to Meyer Flooring for providing such professional work, a superior product and most of all I was grateful for the above and beyond of working with all of my changes, staying late to get the job done and leaving me without any clean-up! This company, Dave and his staff made a stressful move easy and turned a new house into my home. Thank you so much Dave!

> We were in the middle of a renovation. I wanted to hire one company or person to complete a number of projects. This included carpeting, laying slate at the entrance , tiling a bathroom/shower, installing engineered hard wood flooring...We were advised by a designer we know to hire Meyer flooring. His pricing was slightly hirer...but, she said his work was worth it. I am extremely happy I went with Meyer Flooring. Dave and his team were great to work with. They were professional and their attention to detail was amazing. It was a pleasure to have them at our home, each one so easy to work with. Needless to say, we were very happy with each project they did (and that was a big job). Each room so beautifully completed. We have no regrets or complaints whatsoever!! I would highly recommend Dave and his crew at Meyer Flooring.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Ugly black stone fireplace!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We just purchased a brand new house and my husband didn't like the fireplace options so he decided to selected the stone and have someone install it. He selected a gray slate stone which upon installing and finishing got even darker and is now black. We now have this black wall of stone fireplace which is extremely ugly and masculine. I absolutely hate it! I am going to try to soften the room with the window treatments and the fabric I originally selected is now too dark and I don't know what to do? Please help! I am about to cry!

A: Natalie from above :) has the right idea !!

**Q: Backsplash proportions need help** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am trying to figure out how to proportion our backsplash. We are planning on using black subway tile and luster glazed glass mosaics 1x1. The counter to cabinet edging distance is 16-3/4" and is measures 18" under the cabinet to the counter.

The designer (at the tile store) wants to do 9" of 3x6 black glass subway (brick-lay), 4" of mosaics and the rest in black subway tile (3-3/4 to cabinet edging and 5" to cabinet bottom).

I think 4" is not enough for the mosaic, and there would be
too much black. I would like to see 9" black glass subway, 6" glass mosaic, and finish was glass black subway (1-3/4" and
3"). Is there a correct proportion for layering?

The mosaic as shown is 7".

A: Oh ! One more idea .... Black grout , it will complete the wow factor . Make sure to mask off around the tiles as the colour pigment in black grout can be difficult to clean off surrounding cabinets or painted walls

**Q: Where to buy** *(in Photo Questions)*

What store can these chairs be purchased?

A: I found the light bej at http://www.oldplank.com/new-dining-room-side-chair.html
they seem to have a promotion going

**Q: the fashion bed headboards- b72121 it is the whole bed or just the hea** *(in Product Questions)*

What come together with the headboards for $263.95?

A: Do you just assemble the bed to a standard metal bedframe with this headboard?

**Q: Need help - how to add new tile to wall with existing old tile** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I want to add tile half way up the wall with a border to go behind the toilet and new pedestal sink that I will be getting. I do not know what to do about the existing shower tile that is on the same wall. I am going to use white subway tile as is currently in the shower however the shower tile has been there for probably 20 years. I am not sure how to end and start the new tile. Please help!

A: 20 yrs old ...... if your budget allows, start fresh from the beginning. I have completed many bathroom reno's...... sometimes it pays to remove the old tile. A blank canvas is a great way to add your own ideas. good luck
