We were assured by the sales manager (in writing) that Shodeen was never more than 2 weeks late on their expected delivery time....we were over 2 months late on delivery. We also caught some major structural issues when the house was being built. When we addressed them with the sales manager he assured us it was fine. I then had to go to the city inspector to warn them of the issue. Sure enough, I was correct in my findings and they didn't pass the inspection 2 times because of structural issues. Fast forward to moving in. You can see the condition of the kitchen cabinets. They are damages, scratched and have holes. We are also missing a trim kit on our microwave which they continue to tell us is "on it's way" (2 months waiting). There are nails coming out of the stairs, non of the trim transitions are secure, paint on the floors, grout and pain on the bathroom tiles, cement on the tubs, grout is cracked in between tiles. Some of the bathroom tiles are scratched (4 tiles in the master bathroom), we are missing screens and have chipped and cracked light fixtures. the fence and Sod we paid for was installed almost a month after we moved in. There is a crack in the porch cement. Holes in light fixtures outside. The can and hanging lights are all off center (see fixture above sink). Nothing is centered. The light in the pantry was never installed and cords are dangling down. The shower drain we paid for was installed incorrectly (and still is) in the basement. We were supposed to have a linen cabinet in the bathroom according to the redlined, signed off prints that Shodeen is now not putting in the house. Our range hood makes terrible noises. We had GE come out to take a look, at which time the GE technician told us it was the way it was installed. Shodeen now refuses to even come out to take a look at it. I have an even longer list of items damaged or missing from the house. Please reach out if you would like more information. Almost every home in the subdivision has issues like the ones I have mentioned. I am more than happy to go into more details. **★ — A S, April 2018** > I’ve lived in a Shodeen built home for almost 26 years. It’s a cheaply constructed home and they must have used inexperienced people to built it. While under construction, an entire wall was built in reverse. Fortunately we were always checking the house during construction. The basement walls and floors cracked. The windows rotted. The drywall tape separated. Ceiling drywall sank. The upstairs floors all creak. The attic had a mold problem because the bathrooms vented only to the attic and not to the soffits. The siding detached because the wrong size nails were used, and not enough nails were even used to hold the siding onto the house. The outdoor faucets were welded on instead of screwed in so I had to hire a plumber when one broke. He properly installed the new faucet. I have to hire real professionals and spend lots of money to fix all the shoddy workmanship. Never buy a Shodeen home. If you want to get excuses, cheap quality and poor customer service, then buy from Shodeen. **★★★★★ — A.J. Hofer, Feb. 2016** > We bought a new construction one story from Shodeen and we love it. Great quality and really great relationship with the builder. They schedule follow up meetings to address any issues that may have come up. They even came 2 years after the purchase of the home when we had some concerns that there was a draft in one room. They sent a team out within a week and resolved the issue in 10 minutes for no charge. We also love the design elements of the house.
