The project included the complete remodeling of our kitchen, remodeling the fireplace, the replacement of our stair railings, and some trim updates to our dining room and family room. The results were nothing short of stunning. > > Matt and his team were wonderful to work with. Once we signed on the dotted line, they got to work promptly. The initial phase prior to demo was spent choosing cabinets, appliances, hardware, light fixtures, carpet, etc., so that everything could be ordered, on site, and ready to install when it was time to do so. While I had a pretty good idea about what I wanted the finished project to look like, making those decisions so quickly was overwhelming. Thankfully, Matt’s designer was instrumental in helping me navigate through the many beautiful finish choices that were available and she made the process much easier for me than had I been left to my own devices. > > Subs can sometimes be an issue, but Gowler Homes’ subcontractors were great. They were always there when they were expected to be; we never had an issue with them not showing up. They took great pride in their work, and they always left the site clean at the end of the day, which was important to us because we continued to live in the house throughout the process. Additionally, Matt visited the job site almost daily to check on the progress, evaluate any problems that may have cropped up, and give us status updates. > > As happens during remodels, we encountered some unexpected problems along the way, a couple of which had the potential to derail parts of the project. Fortunately, Matt was able to deftly find solutions that allowed us to continue to move forward as planned. We were upfront with Matt on where we would like to stay budget wise and he was amazing at utilizing his professional employees (even an interior designer) to carefully choose items that would fit the bill. Matt was present on site more times than not and always made sure things were going as planned. Of course there are hiccups to be expected with any remodel, but Matt made everything right in the end and we were impressed with his professionalism, fairness and integrity. We ended up with a gorgeous master bathroom (think Four Seasons) and are ready for guests to stay in our newly updated guest bedroom with beautiful ensuite bathroom. My wife and I are admittedly very demanding, and the relationship that Gowler Homes created with us, through their professional team, to cater to every single need and concern throughout the building process has been unparalleled. Whether you are building a $10,000,000 home or a $300,000 home, they are with you day and night making sure that your every dream/vision comes to fruition. I went out recently to the site where our home is being built and spoke with the man in charge of pouring our foundation. He told me that Matt Gowler (owner) and his son and his nephew had been out there all day shoveling the 4+ feet of snow that had drifted into the hole over the weekend. They did this in order for the plumbing crew to continue installing the pipe in the basement the following day, and not hinder the progression/schedule. Matt Gowler took it upon himself to take care of it in below freezing temps after having just stopped by to check on things. This concrete worker further told me that because of the need to keep the blankets on the ground to keep the ground warm and insure it didn't get moisture, they had to remove all of the snow by hand and with wheel barrows (not a bulldozer or even snow blower). Even the concrete worker said he is one of only a couple of foundation workers in Colorado and that he has been doing this for almost 40 years and that Matt Gowler is one of the best custom home builders he has ever come across. I told my wife with tears in my eyes that we could have never found a better person to build our home. I have worked in the construction industry for roughly 15 years myself, and can count on one hand the number of times I have seen the owner of a company performing the grunt work, and the fact that he sets that example for his kids to me speaks volumes to the type of integrity, work ethic, and morals he and by extension his company has. I called Matt to ask him if this were true and what I could do to repay him, and his simple reply was "I bought the boys pizza and hot cocoa afterwards and they thought it was the best".
