Josh and his team did a great job at bringing our vision to life. I'll also mention this is the first time we worked with a contractor, so it was a big learning experience. We lived in the house as the project was being completed which came with its own unique challenges for working from home and living in an active construction zone. Also, in preparation for the project we purchased all large finishings that would be used in the bathroom (bathtub, tiles, vanity, faucets, etc.) > > Communication: > Josh was willing to chat with us whenever he had a free moment, fitting in our calls wherever he could which was great for if we needed to give him updates on materials we had sourced/purchased or ask questions about the project. Overall there was good communication with Josh as well as the sub-contractors who were working with him. In most cases, we did have to initiate the conversations ourselves, but the team was willing to discuss when we reached out. > > Work: > There was a good flow of work, even with the challenges of Josh's growing and changing team. At least one person was in every day. Originally we were quoted completion of the bathroom within 2 weeks. However, it was extended to almost 4, due to Josh's team having multiple projects. But in the end, Josh and his team were willing to work with a final deadline that we proposed. > > The team overall was great at installation and quick to problem solve any issues that came up. The tiling sub-contractor was excellent. > > Issues: > The finishings and wrapping up of the project was rushed and missing attention to detail. I believe this was due to the fact that the team was stretched thin and was given a final deadline. Josh was willing to come back and correct some issues that were left over (missing grout, missing cap at bottom of built in cabinet). I did switch things up a bit; a few upgrades and changes, and he was very flexible and worked with me on the changes, ie colour and style of door handles and hinges to major change of rebuilding/redoing the main stairway, doors and removal of popcorn ceiling, flooring, of course paying for the upgrades. The situation I was in at my condo unit was a bad renovation job by another contractor a few years ago. The shower base was not draining water properly and would end up leading to bigger issues later down the line. Josh came by to assess the situation and helped me find a middle ground where we wouldn't tear down the entire bathroom shower and start over. We opted to carefully remove one row of tiles, remove the shower base and rebuild the shower floor using tiles. The end result is fantastic and I am confident that my Shower Repair job is permanent. The issue involved a leaking main water valve before the meter.
