McNally Interiors is committed to a collaborative and client-centered approach to design with an emphasis on classic, yet fresh interiors. Kitchen and bath renovations feature inspired, thoughtful design, high quality materials and exceptional craftsmanship - a nice contrast to formulaic, cookie cutter, builder grade specs so often found in today's homes.  I believe in selecting well made furnishings that will endure the test of time as it saves clients money in the long run and reduces waste. I enjoy working with clients in all seasons of life, from singles through young families, to those in their golden years. Fees are project based for renovations. Whole room decoration / furnishing is priced at $18 per square foot. Hourly consults are available for help with small decoration projects such as window treatments, color or furniture arranging at $150/hr with a 2 hour minimum.

> Denise McNally created a kitchen design as part of a whole-house remodeling project we recently completed. The kitchen is a dream come true. The layout is perfect and Denise's eye for that special something have given us a center island that is amazing. When at the kitchen cabinet showroom, Denise spotted a sample of gorgeous wood and asked whether it was available for the island top. The cabinet maker checked with the woodworker, explaining that it was reclaimed wood from a nearby train station built in 1899. Enough wood was, in fact, available, and we had the island top as well as the floating open shelves Denise designed made from this very special material. Denise's assistance in selecting the style of cabinetry, layout, and large pantry wall, as well as selecting the perfect tile, made the kitchen absolutely perfect. Denise's work included a detailed lighting plan and she suggested adding windows to flank the new professional range. They bring in so much gorgeous natural light and a view to our yard that we didn't have before this project. Our architect, who at my initial request had not made changes to the kitchen layout, was completely impressed by Denise's design, as was our general contractor and all the subs who worked on the project. The kitchen is the center of our open floor plan on the main level of our home, and thanks to Denise, it is absolutely perfect. Our project is complete and we love every inch of our magnificent kitchen.

The island's dimensions are: 60" l x 19.75" w.  Overall kitchen width is 11'10.5"  Cabinetry on the left is reduced depth.

This is such a beautiful little kitchen but design was done so well it feels open and bright.

Can you please share the countertop materials used on the back counters and the island?  Also what colour paint was used?  Thanks so much!

A: Hello Rhoda!
Thank you for your kind words. This kitchen was considerably darker before we added the windows flanking the range and its new layout is much more social than before. Soapstone tops the rear counters, and the wall color is Benjamin Moore's French Macaroon/CSP-335. If you're not familiar with soapstone, I suggest you research it before selecting it for your kitchen as it has unique wear and maintenance properties.  Best wishes!

A: Hi J Style Homes!
That paint is C2's "Parchment". It's a chameleon - sometimes looks taupe, sometimes beige - depending on the light. Very versatile.

A: Hi dhaues,
No those panels have always been white. They spent a few years outside which weathered them significantly. If you're looking for a weathered, aged look, I suggest using a lime wash which has a matte/chalky finish over your dark wood. Before painting it, you might want to put your screen outside in the sun and rain for a few weeks first before applying the paint. The weathering will open up the wood and impart character. It may also warp your panels slightly.
