We have known for years that the HVAC system was not installed properly. This has cost us thousands upon thousands of dollars over the years (and have had to resort to window AC units). > > Tonight we found out that there is no house wrap. > > Code basis: > The IRC (International Residential Code) requires a water-resistive barrier behind exterior wall coverings, so any reputable builder should be doing this as a matter of course — not just good practice. > > Shameful. **★ — jbhamlin, Aug. 2020** > I bought a canyon crest home and had an inspection done 16 months later on the new build and every single post under the house is having to be straightened and additional posts added because all the posts are failing as the house has settled. This was a major structural concern. The inspector said these things can take over a year to appear. I sent the inspection report to the builder assuming he would take responsibility for a poor structure job but his only comment was “you are outside of the one year”. Wow. I have never heard of a “luxury” builder not caring at all about the quality of workmanship or their reputation. I’ve had to hire a contractor to fix the job and even the contractor said this should have been fixed by the builder as its poor original workmanship. Unbelievable. Do not use this builder. I know 2 other people who bought a canyon crest home and also did not appreciate this builder. Stay away he doesn’t care about building a solid house or doing the right thing for clients. **★★★★★ — Lake River, Aug. 2018** > Working with Dave and his Canyon Crest team has been an amazing experience! He was very helping in answering any questions/concerns we had throughout the building process in a very timely manner. We had a few specific requests, that ended up changing the floorplan, and he was extremely supportive and helpful in making those changes for us. He also provides an interior designer to help make selections and that really made all the difference! We were able to put our "dream home" vision into reality with the help of an expert who guided us through everything. > > Dave was also extremely accurate on his completion timeline, so we were able to plan our move without any delays. > > In addition, we were out of state during construction and didn't see our home until the final walk-through and there were many "pleasant surprises" that we didn't even know about (examples include stairway lighting, gas hookups for grill, central vac hookups, etc). He is very thoughtful and thinks of how people will use their homes for everyday life and builds the perfect home to suit those needs. We couldn't be happier with him, his contractors and the materials he uses. He doesn't skimp on anything and it shows!
