I would like to know in general where would you put the bed? When we build this house, the floor plan called for the closet where the nook is, I requested to remove the closet, enlarge the window for the little view. I plan to build a wardrobe in the left corner . The first picture is the entrance door, to the left is a small closet, then door to the bathroom Measurement of the room from A-B =13.4 feet, BC = 11.4, CD=3.8, DE=6.4. Thank in advance Susan A: I think you made a great decision opting for a large window instead if a closet. The room needed more light. As this is a secondary bedroom (guest bedroom?) you may want to put a nice large desk in the nook. I would put the bed on the wall in the second photo and maybe a hutch in between the small windows. The arc over the nook makes me think of dark brown Spanish style furniture. Great space with a lot of potential! **Q: Need window dressing suggestions...help!** *(in Design Dilemma)* We need something for privacy and to diffuse the summer afternoon sun...blinds, shutters or sheers? And then also some kind of fabric, valance, drape? It is such an awkward window to dress. Any suggestions much appreciated. A: I would replace your current window treatment with a nice thin metal rod extended beyond the width of the window so that the curtain panels stay on the wall (take down the existing scones/metal ornaments). I would choose a large floral pattern perhaps corresponding to the color of your leather chair (dark red/wine) for the curtains. Some color and bold pattern will add a character to the room. **Q: Light grey fabric + brown leather sofa** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hello everyone, I am trying to complement my light grey fabric sofa with another mid-to-dark brown leather one. Do you think it will look to good to match fabric and leather? What about the colours? I have attached a picture of my light grey fabric couch + a picture of the leather couch that I want to add + a picture of the fabric compared to the light brown leather + a picture of the fabric compared to the dark brown leather. I am completely lost, what do you guys think? Any opinion would be helpful! Thanks A: A darker brown leather fabric will create too much of a contrast. I think your gray fabric and the lighter brown leather will work great. Go with your gut feeling. **Q: Accent wall - half bath** *(in Design Dilemma)* I'm remodeling my half bath, navy walls tile floor. I decided to hand paint a gold accent wall. Should I do the adjacent wall or would that be to much? A: Love the accent wall! **Q: Need help on rug size** *(in Design Dilemma)* I have a 6' round table and 6 chairs in my dining area. I want to use a round rug underneath because I am scratching my wood floor. What is the general rule on size rug for this size table. I see some 7'9" and others 9' or so. Thank you in advance! A: You can consider using carpet tiles from Flor.com to create a custom size area rug that fits your room. **Q: High ceiling - too big room** *(in Design Dilemma)* We bought the house because we loved the high ceilings...and open floor plan but (as you can see!) I've never been able to figure out how to make the space work. There is an open loft looking down on the mess. Any and all suggestions welcomed! A: Painting the walls in darker color would make a big difference right away. There is not enough contrast between the walls and the ceiling now which makes the room appear very high. You need to develop a color scheme for the room first. You can pick a warm neutral gray to create a nice background for other color accents. Looks like gray would work with your current area rug (lime green?) There are many other colors options as well. Can you post more photos that could inspire a new color scheme?
