## Community Q&A

**Q: Kitchen Refresh suggestions welcomed** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi everyone!  I am planning on refreshing my kitchen in the next month or so and I'm looking for suggestions.  We have a definite list of changes we want to make all while trying to stick to a budget.

1\) change countertops to granite
2\) add backsplash
3\) new lighting
4\) new stainless appliances
5\) new cabinet hardware
6\) work with exisitng cabinetry and flooring
7\) rework pantry (ie. new shelving / layout

I've also included a picture of our breakfast area to get a sense of the space and complete layout of the room.

A: Have the new counter top and backsplash associated to the flooring. Get colors that are more neutral for these fixed items and accessorize with new paint and decorations, as these can be changed as often as desired. Pantry will need to have a more utility flow design. using a flow of necessity design (what you use most is kept at eye level). It should be more adjustable for this purpose. Stainless appliances will do wonders to highlight all of these other changes and lend some contemporary to the traditional...Good luck with your project...
