A: These are tiles. What makes the tiles "appear" checker board is changing the direction of the stainless "grain" on the surface on every other tile by 90 degrees. **Q: Where are the stools from?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: My clients purchased this at an antique store although I'm not sure where. **Q: Amazing back splash!
