It was there, we had the pleasure of connecting with Peter Harms, who quickly put us at ease and guided us flawlessly through the undertaking of remodeling our kitchen. Through our visits, Peter quickly learned that our kitchen has always been the centerpiece of our home. He understood we were now ready complete our dream kitchen for both entertaining & cooking. It was a thrill to watch, as Peter & his team skillfully brought our new kitchen to life with each design aspect. Peter fulfilled all that we had envisioned. Peter did an outstanding job of redesigning the existing space, to include all the cabinetry and Sub Zero Wolf appliances on our wish list, while always considering the best possible functionality. He also provided excellent suggestions for the perfect countertops, sink, faucet, tile black splash & cabinetry pulls. Peter's guidance gave us so much confidence. We found Peter's immense knowledge & experience exactly what we hoped for, when undertaking a project of this size. We truly appreciated that Peter made certain all details were considered and completed to perfection. Not only do we absolutely love our new kitchen, we are also coming away from the experience with incredible gratitude for North Star. Every phase of the process was handled with professionalism, attention to detail and timely communication. Beginning with the design process, we were very impressed not only with Peter's obvious talent, but with his ability to conceptualize our vision, offer pragmatic feedback and to plan and execute the project within a timeline and budget that worked for us. Peter made it abundantly clear through his work that he has the highest degree of knowledge, vision and ability. It was a partnership and it was fun! While going an extended period of time without a kitchen is not particularly fun, the construction phase of the process was handled with similar expertise. Our project manager, Nate, was a joy to work with. He and his crew are incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, efficient, tidy, polite and hardworking. The communication was second to none and we cannot stress this enough. Not once did we get the impression that something was being neglected or that anything was being left to chance. We always knew who would be in our home and when. Any deviation in schedule or plans were forwarded to us promptly. There were a couple of bumps in the road during construction, which is sure to happen on any project, but our questions were always answered in a timely fashion and our best interests were looked after. If there was any issue, we knew about it immediately and were presented with options and a plan to resolve it. Nate and his crew are true craftsmen and it was an absolute pleasure to share our home with them for the duration of the work. Our project was finished in a realistic time frame and very nearly exactly on budget. The overall experience of working with North Star was a wonderful one and we cannot recommend them highly enough. Finally, last year my husband and I decided to get the kitchen of our dreams. We visited several kitchen contractors and invited a couple of them to come up with a design. Of course, this time I insisted on including North Star. A designer from North Star visited our kitchen a couple of times just to see how we used the space. Then they came back with an absolutely awesome plan for the kitchen and adjoining family area. The design work was very professional, and the North Star plan was head and shoulders above the other contractors. We loved it and decided to go with North Star. We were concerned about the next stage, as we had heard horror stories from a friend about their remodeling project and all the mistakes and problems they encountered with their builders. On the first day of construction, the job foreman showed up at our house. We had not met him before but soon felt like he was part of our family. He and his crew were such pleasant and happy people to have practically living with us for the next few months. He was so particular, detecting and correcting small alignment and space issues that I don’t think we would have ever noticed. I was amazed at how they knew everything about all the appliances and entertainment center components. They got everything installed, adjusted and up and running without a glitch. In fact, when the project finally came to completion, we were a little sad to see them leave!
