My project manager had an incredible ability to address any concerns that arose and reassure me when something didn’t go exactly as planned. He was extremely organized, efficient, and knowledgeable. I am so grateful to have had his guidance and leadership throughout this inherently stressful process. As a company, Bradford and Kent always stood by their work, and made corrections to all mistakes (which weren’t many, but of course things happen in any renovation) immediately upon discovery. I was very appreciative, as I have heard horror stories of other contractors not maintaining such high standards. My Hardie siding has visible gaps and theirs does not. Initially, we worked with Mark and he was a great person to begin our project with. His calm, easy going manner helped us to find direction with our project and get a feel for what things would look like. Mark continued working with us for about 10 months making changes and tweaks along the way as our project evolved. Working with Sarah, the design consultant, was a dream. Sarah was integral in helping me make the best choices when it came to flooring, countertops, backsplashes, tile, cabinetry and more. Bradford & Kent makes the selection process easy since their design studio is where I would meet with Sarah and all of the materials were brought in to me. I did not have to go store to store searching for the perfect tile. What a relief since as a working mom, I don’t have too many free minutes to waste! I was most worried about the selection process, but Sarah was patient and insightful with me. Once our job began on site, we had our project manager, Louie, on the job. Louie ran a tight ship, keeping track of the demo crew, all of the trades, our materials and managing the day to day schedule. I met with Louie frequently to review items, go over our timeline and make decisions. Louie was someone I felt extremely comfortable with managing our project on site. I knew I could trust him and count on him to keep things moving in the right direction and to be honest and fair with us. I was sad to see our project be completed only because I miss my daily chats with Louie. The trades that worked on our project were top notch. From the electricians to the plumbers to the AMAZING carpenters - we had the best of the best. Everyone was professional, meticulous in their craft and extremely friendly. Our final result could not be more spectacular. We ended up with an almost total home remodel including a remodeled and enlarged kitchen + addition, 2 bathroom remodels, primary bedroom and bathroom addition, new windows, hardwood flooring, facelift for our screened in porch, new roof, updated electricity and more. Bradford and Kent specializes in kitchen and bathroom remodeling/creation, but can also install new windows and design/construct additions to homes. Bradford and Kent also designs/performs other types of modifications such as finishing a basement space. In addition to the superb, high-quality installation, I was especially impressed with the initial free consultation and preliminary design processes. Bradford and Kent provides free in-home consultations during which measurements are acquired and goals are defined by the customer. This results in a custom-made design, a three-dimensional drawing and a cost estimate/range. I strongly recommend getting the free consultation and initial design/drawing. The design professionals can introduce concepts for optimizing use of space that a typical homeowner has not considered. If the customer decides to move forward to the contract stage, Bradford and Kent’s extensive show room/set of samples and catalogs allow easy selection of cabinetry, fixtures, floor/wall coverings, windows (if modified), countertops, and other design features. The final cost will likely depend on the customer’s selection of various options (e.g., granite vs. some alternative countertop; grade of cabinetry; cherry vs. a less expensive wood; standard or high-design tile, etc.). When comparing cost estimates from two or more potential providers, be certain to get estimates for a comparable design/quality of materials. The completed project includes a warranty. When we started entire nightmare in January we were promised just about 4-5 weeks construction time. We were also promised B&K is not going to start demolition until all material will be in our garage. Nothing of that was true. Project last long 16 weeks! > Ordered wrong glass for cabinet doors, entrance bathroom door order took 14 weeks and nobody from B&K knew what was going on. Project manager was so upset, that when he took from us cabinet doors with wrong glass, he didn’t properly secured in on his truck and damaged door frames as well. B&K ordered those doors 3 times! Project manager was replaced and B&K continued with their incompetence, sloppiness and constant lying to us until very end of remodeling. > Unforced errors in documentation, very unprofessional project management and even owners were not helpful and didn’t want to take honest approach to customer. What distinguished Brandie was that she really listened to what we wanted and then, guided us toward a design and materials that aligned with our desired look and function. The kitchen had been very dark with dated cabinetry; since we had 9 foot ceilings, I had hung some of my basket collection from the ceiling. We wanted a very light and airy design but I was torn about removing the baskets; Brandie suggested a couple of shelves so I could still include some of my favorites. It was the perfect solution. She also came to discuss every drawer or cupboard and what would go into them, resulting in a design that functions exactly as we desired.
