**★ — Lianne Pang, June 2019**

> We had a very disappointing experience with MRM, especially considering how positive the initial (design) phase was. Our designer Kirsten was great, and the only wholly positive part of our experience with MRM. Joe, our estimator, is an amiable guy but did not give us an accurate estimate. In particular, our cabinet allowance was only half of the actual cost ($7000 discrepancy) despite the fact that we did not change our cabinet design or specs after the allowance was calculated. Ross, the project manager, also made a couple of costly mistakes when approving subcontractor quotes by either misunderstanding something and not clarifying it (paint quote) or approving the quote without actually checking it (tile quote). Jack, the site supervisor, was overall good.
>
> In addition to going over budget, the remodel also went a month over schedule and the delay was not communicated to us until we asked about it directly. To cap things off, we moved back into the house only to discover that the basement ceiling was not insulated. When we asked Ross about it, he claimed that we had instructed him to remove the basement insulation from the scope of work in order to save money. We had no recollection of this decision, and Ross had no change order, no email confirmation, not even any meeting notes. He eventually agreed to fix the mistake.
>
> Because of Kirsten's great design work, we're ultimately happy with the remodeled space, but overall I think both MRM and ourselves just want to forget that we ever worked together.

**Comment from Model Remodel:**

> Lianne & Ryan,
>
> Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize that the project did not meet your expectations. Overall, it did not meet my expectations for my company as well. And while I’m glad to hear that the quality of workmanship was high, we are in agreement that there were some honest mistakes during your project that led to changes in cost and schedule. After each project finishes we have a meeting with the project team to review the job from top-to-bottom, and talk about what we can improve for the future. We hope there is some comfort in knowing our team will take your feedback to heart and is continually improving. Please know that we stand by both our work and our warranty should you need to contact MRM again.
>
> Once again, I’m very sorry for your frustration.
>
> Sincerely,
> Jason Legat

**★★★★★ — krista heron, Sept. 2017**

> Model/Remodel has always been gracious, generous, efficient, professional and skilled in all the work they have done for me. I always recommend them first to friends and clients.

**Comment from Model Remodel:**

> Thanks Krista for your continued trust in us. It's been a pleasure working with you!

**★★★★★ — Divya Chopra, Nov. 2016**

> We're very happy with the results of the two bathrooms they updated for us. They have a great team that communicates proactively and is on top of managing issues and changes. We were especially pleased with the iterative design process and the distinctive finishes. We would definitely recommend them and work with them on other house projects.

**Comment from Model Remodel:**

> Thanks for the great review Divya. We love how they turned out! Glad you and your family are enjoying your new bathrooms.

**★★★★★ — BellCraft Architects, Sept. 2015**

> As architects, we’re always looking for skilled, trustworthy and reliable builders to collaborate with. We’ve worked with Model Remodel on a number of projects and have found them to be all of these things and more. They are professional, detail-oriented, flexible and attentive to our clients’ needs. I enthusiastically recommend Model Remodel and try to work with them every opportunity I get.

**★★★★★ — Board & Vellum, March 2014**

> I am an Architect and Model Remodel was the general contractor for a complicated restoration and addition to a historic older home which my firm, Board and Vellum, designed. The home was being turned into a retail and office project while still maintaining the character of the original home. Their on-site team was outstanding and managed the very aggressive schedule with grace and passion. The project came out beautiful and they were always great to work with. I look forward to working with them in the future and I think you would as well.

A one-piece toilet took the place of a dated…

  - Location: Seattle, WA
  - Photos: 12
  - Description: Sometimes the extra space you crave is right under your nose. In the case of this 1940s Ballard home, the basement was an opportunity to create additional living areas from underused space. Like many older homes, the basement was a dark and dreary place in need of some TLC. A gloomy spare bedroom, unfinished laundry room and aging garage were not serving the family well, but the family loved the location of their home. Moving would be a last resort. Instead, a complete basement remodel created a…
