I had several estimates. What set Mike out was his honesty and how the floors would look a couple years downline, with the recommendations of previous contractor estimates. I hired him to replace one level and refinish another level. His team was great and very easy to work with. They cleaned up after their work. I was impressed. My contractor on another project was so impressed he asked for name to recommend to another family. My floors look great! **★ — J McNally, Feb. 2020** > Alpine cancelled a job after taking my clients gave a deposit of 50% a month earlier. This occurred after my clients waited for weeks and rescheduled moving and other work to accommodate. I cannot recommend a company that operates this way. My clients gave a sig deposit without getting a contract from Alpine and when they requested one Alpine cancelled but has not refunded the deposit. Really bad and dishonest way to do business. Its standard operating procedure to have a contract and also to be able to ask questions. Possibly this was a job that was beyond Alpines skill level but if that were the case they should not have taken a deposit or made these folks wait for over a month, only to cancel. Do not use them! **Comment from Alpine Flooring and Design:** > Dear J McNally, we decided not to proceed with doing the project for your client. It was not a project that we wanted to engage in for a number of reasons. The process to return the flooring deposit was initiated the same day we cancelled the job. The deposit was returned in full through Square. Mike from Alpine Flooring and Design provided an estimate which included all costs, the length of time to complete the work and was flexible to accommodate my schedule for a start date. The crews from Alpine were respectful, professional and courteous. It was obvious they were skilled in installing wood flooring and dedicated to doing outstanding work; the new floors are wonderful. The project was completed on time, even after at the last minute I added installation of fourteen flush wooden, stained to match floor registers. The only extra charge was for the addition of the floor registers; the rest was within the budgeted amount. They cleaned up after each day (even though the house was empty) and then thoroughly once all the floors were installed. My new home now has gleaming hardwood floors.
