> Shawn and Chuck worked with our contractor to provide a schedule, material choices and an estimate for all new siding, gutters and trim work. They were super easy to communicate with and we can't say enough about the accuracy of the timing and cost --- looks great and we've received many compliments since the work was completed. The crew also did a great job with removing our old siding in a manner that it could be re-used by a neighbor. Highly recommend!

**Comment from Centerline Construction:**

> Maria and Jason are great customers and their home is lovely! Glad to work for such nice folks!

> In July of 2025 St. Vincent DePaul Church gave Centerline Construction a $15,000 deposit for a $19,000 project, building a ramp on a former rectory. To date, May 7, 2026, only the demolition of the previous ramp has been accomplished. There is always an excuse: a part on a boat in the ocean, wait until the snow is gone, wait until the weather is warmer; we will be there next week; we will be there next week (the repetition is intentional); we were there last week taking measurements (they did not notify us that they were on our property.)
> We have asked politely; we have pleaded; we have explained the difficulty the "delay" in building the ramp has caused for people with limited mobility; we have threatened legal action. All we want is for the ramp to be built or to have our deposit returned so we can hire another, reputable contractor.

> Shawn and Chuck were a tremendous help with 2 projects in Valatie NY. They were very professional, responsive and the work was very well done. We will definitely use them again for future projects.

**★★★★★ — Janis Vallely, Oct. 2023**

> Great great job. Our deck and screened in porch look fabulous. Chuck and Shawn are pros and our relatively small job was done with the same attention to detail and care as a total reconstruction. We will use them again and again.

**Comment from Centerline Construction:**

> Glad to be of service to such lovely customers and their lovely house.

**★★★★★ — John P, Oct. 2018**

> Since 2013, my wife and I have relied on Chuck and Shawn (Centerline) for all manner of projects at our historic home. Chuck and his crew are great, and Chuck does awesome work. He is a master in construction, a master tradesman – and a great diagnostician giving us insight into many house-related problems. Centerline made structural repairs to our 2-car garage and installed a new roof to match the house, repaired custom wooden gutters damaged by snow and ice (saving us thousands), and transformed our 1,000-foot stone patio where the stone floor had buckled and was draining water towards the house. (Chuck told us the wrong setting material, yellow sand, had been used initially.) He excavated the area and re-set the large stones in new stone dust – the patio now drains rain away from the house and has become our favorite place! Inside, Chuck installed new tile on our backsplash and replaced tired laminate counters with Corian on our cherry cabinets. The kitchen is now fresh and new, yet still appropriate for our historic home. Chuck’s knowledge and workmanship are impressive. Centerline’s customer-service is stellar.

**★★★★★ — Sarah Ellen Rindsberg, Oct. 2018**

> Centerline’s workmanship is outstanding. They’re the best, hand’s down. The next time I buy I house, I won’t solicit other estimates.
>
> I considered a number of houses before deciding to purchase my current home. Shawn and Chuck met with me at every property and advised me on the sorts of updates each would require and what the costs would be. This was SO helpful. I finally bought a 3-bed house with two inadequate bathrooms, about 2,000 square feet overall, in Lakeville, CT, in fall 2017. Centerline outlined the work by priority, brought code violations to my attention, and shared their good advice on where my renovation / updating budget would be best spent.
>
> Centerline did both big and small projects, upgraded electrical, fixed wonky plumbing, re-roofed the whole house, and renovated both bathrooms. Centerline even matched a low-ball quote I’d gotten from a local painter to patch and paint the entire interior. Centerline’s work was exquisite! The walls were in such bad shape. I ended up with a $ 25K interior plaster skim coat and gorgeous paint finish that cost me a mere $ 7K. Centerline’s crew fixed every nail pop, smoothed every bad bit of drywall! The walls are perfect and whole house looks and feels 1,000-percent better.
>
> The house had two existing bathrooms, but neither had a bathtub. Chuck ingeniously found a way to carve out a niche in the first-level powder room to add a bathtub (preserving the existing tile floor, no less!) and voilà, I now have a full bath that’s accessible for anyone in the public areas (kitchen or living room) while it also functions as an ensuite for the master bedroom.
>
> The second floor has a balcony overlooking the large living room below. The railing here wasn’t up to code when I purchased the house. Because the railing was so visible, Chuck and Shawn helped me see how replacing it could be a design opportunity (in addition to meeting code!) The new railing inspired us to change all the door hardware to match, and now the house really pops! EVERYTHING is fresh and new and appropriately coordinated.
>
> When Shawn suggested to me that the second-floor bath (with 30-year-old ripped brown vinyl flooring) would look tired and dated once all the other work in the house was done, and that I should consider a cosmetic re-do of this room, I balked. I didn’t think I could afford it, but she suggested a number of great cost-saving methods to stretch my budget. The room is fabulous and the cost was minimal! Centerline replaced a code violating sink and vanity with a stylish gray vanity and sink, added a new faucet, new toilet, a code-required GFI switch, new vanity lights, and new luxury vinyl flooring (goodbye brown vinyl!) to complement the existing floors in the house. The crew also re-grouted the hand-molded tile in the shower stall, which made it look brand new! Every fixture and feature of this room (which also benefitted from the new paint job!) was upgraded at a fraction of the normal cost of a bathroom re-do.
>
> There are many advantages to having Centerline’s design team involved from day one. Even something as simple as changing door handles and keeping all accessories consistent, is valuable, since it’s better to make the right design choices initially than wait until all the updates are done and then bring in a decorator.
>
> All the work took about 8 weeks, and the crew was super – they cleaned up every day and helped me with other tasks anytime I asked.

**★★★★★ — Paul Iappini, Jan. 2017**

> For the past five years I have contracted Centerline Construction to work on my house in Columbia County, New York. The projects have been diverse, from the installation of a new hot water system to remodeling bathrooms and bedrooms. The quality of the work has always been exceptional, and I have always been very satisfied with the end result. They listen carefully to my requests, and I am particularly impressed with their efforts to understand my personal aesthetic and vision. A recent example of this involved the installation of Moroccan tiles in my kitchen and bathroom. This project was quite difficult given these handmade tiles were often uneven and each a little crooked, which to me was part of their special appeal. Centerline was able to accommodate this variety and I now have beautiful, perfectly laid floors in an old-world style that blends magnificently with the rest of the house. In regards to the cost, Centerline's estimates have always been accurate and very fair.
> I would surely recommend Centerline Construction to anyone who wants to have a job done right and, at the same time, aesthetically pleasing. I am most impressed with the company’s high level of integrity and their warm customer-oriented style.

**Comment from Centerline Construction:**

> Paul is the BEST client -- he's smart, reasonable and has a wonderful vision for his beautiful home. He asks for the best way to implement his ideas, and respects Chuck's knowledge and experience. As a result, his projects always have clear parameters. This helps us plan and execute his jobs efficiently (and contributes to our running our business more efficiently). Oh, and Paul always pays promptly.

  - Description: While the cabinets were too good to discard, this 1970s-era traditional kitchen sorely needed updating. Centerline helped the homeowners identify solutions that wouldn't break the bank. We used sleek black granite countertops to replace worn and flimsy laminate for a true upgrade, along with glass mosaic tile on the backsplash for a pop of contemporary color. Matching black outlets and switches provide a smooth and elegant finish. The project was both low-cost and low-fuss, requiring less than a…

  - Description: Small spaces need special attention if they're going to shine, and our customer knows this well! He imported the hand-molded tile (in classic blue and white!) that we installed in the small but exceptional kitchen of his country house in the Hudson Valley, two hours north of Manhattan. His guest bathroom also got a boost from rich, warm Moroccan floor tile, perfectly scaled to the cozy room. The project included ripping out rotted sub-floor and existing finish floor, adding new sub-flooring and…

## Community Q&A

**Q: What kind of stove is that? Where can I get one?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The range is an antique Chambers range, made in the US until the 1950s. They are special, but they are like Aga ranges from England in that they are slow cookers, not your usual cooking range, and in this size they cost $25K or more.
