> Jeff pays attention to all of the little details and does a great job! He even made friends with the dog and cat.

**★★★★★ — HU-178061365, Nov. 2025**

> We recently had Jeff paint a bathroom, doors, trim, fix a crack in the wall and paint a contrasting wall in our living room. Everything came out beautifully! Jeff was exceptionally neat, cleaning up so well that you’d never know he’d been there. Jeff was very professional and we would highly recommend him.

**Comment from JCB Painting:**

> Thank you, HU-178061365 AKA Robin :) Really enjoyed working in your Dighton home with you and Steve. You both were so kind and easy to be around—it made the whole project feel more like spending time with good people than just doing a job.

> Jeff, is truly a highly skilled professional! This April we re-hired Jeff for a second project within our home and were thrilled with the results. His attention to detail is unmatched, and we found his pricing to be remarkably fair. Jeff provided clear communication, was always available to us via phone or email when needed and was consistently reliable. We couldn’t imagine working with anyone else for a painting project! We look forward to continuing to work with JCB painting in the future.

**★★★★★ — Betsy Watt, Nov. 2019**

> Jcb painting proved to be a good choice for me. I recently moved and many of the room colors needed to be changed - Jeff was straight-forward when we met about how he would cover some of the varnished molding (at my request), what products he used, and how soon he could begin and how long it would take. While I was disappointed that I had to wait, he showed up as promised and it was worth the wait for the quality of the job at a very reasonable price.

**Comment from JCB Painting:**

> Hi Betsy, thank you for the review and it was a pleasure working in your new home for you and Bob:)

**★★★★★ — fmandya42, Nov. 2019**

**★★★★★ — mandy Worner, Oct. 2018**

> I hired JCP painting to paint my daughter's bedroom. The room came out beautiful! It needed a lot of work. Jeff showed up on time and did an excellent job. I would definitely hire him again.

**★★★★★ — Kathy Harsch, Sept. 2018**

> We hired JCB Painting to repair and paint our living room walls, ceilings, kitchen, hallway and stairway. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. When one color for the kitchen wasn't quite what we had envisioned, Jeff gladly had a new shade mixed and it was exactly the right hue. Our walls look beautiful after the diligent preparation and detail Jeff provides. He truly takes great pride in his work and we will certainly contact him for future projects in our home.

**Comment from JCB Painting:**

> Thank you Kathy for the nice review. It was a pleasure working on your home improvement project. And your Mom was great company :)

## Community Q&A

**Q: First Home--Where to begin?!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

In the process of buying our first home and I'm overwhelmed just thinking about all of the projects I want to jump into. I know the first step for us will be painting as we're not particularly fond of the green color of the walls, and most of the other rooms have 3 walls of one color and an accent color on the other wall (a bit overdone to do that in EVERY room, in my opinion). The floors will be staying the same, as the sellers just installed new carpet throughout the home and the kitchen have a unique and interesting slate flooring! Here's some advice that I'm looking for, but also just need any general tips as we get started decorating our first home:

What paint color would you recommend for the kitchen that will look nice with the interesting slate floor? What should I do for a backsplash (that green wallpaper and stuff has got to go!!) I'd also like to paint the cabinets as I'm not really feeling the light brown.
We will need to purchase all new living room furniture as we didn't have that kind of space in our apartment, so what would you recommend for this room (18x12ft)? Will have to mount the TV on the wall where the staircase is, under the smoke detector area rather than above the fireplace, so I'm sort of struggling to figure out how furniture would be oriented, etc.? I like the gray color of the walls in the living room so will be painting the wall that the fireplace is on the same gray rather than the beige it is now.
What color should I paint the walls in the master bath? Flooring staying.

Thank you in advance for any advice! I am excited to get started!

**Q: Need Exterior Paint Help** *(in Paint)*

Any help with exterior paint colors would be greatly appreciated. Our siding is currently white.

A: What siding? I see only brick with white trim. Paint the trim white.

**Q: Updated Living Room. I need honest opinions.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

4 years ago, Houzzers helped me style the living room. Since that time I have changed a few things. Installed 2 windows to increase light, new front door, new curtains, new rugs and decor pieces. Thoughts? Advice welcome. Looking for art between the two new windows. of course, finish work will be completed soon as well as new linen blinds.

A: Check this out. You can change colors in a room.. Great tool. https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/color-overview/find-your-color

**Q: Aura vs Regal Classic: Interior Designer & Contractor at War** *(in Paint)*

Our contractor (very experienced) is recommending Benjamin Moore Regal Classic because our "walls and bare metal need to be primed so that everything adheres correctly". He feels Aura would not stick right, and doesn't want things to start peeling off down the road.
Our designer is recommending BM Aura because it "looks better", is "low-VOC", and would be more durable long term. I do not know how experienced she is with types of paint, but my guess is not much, and likely repeating what she has been told by BM dealer stores. These are still somewhat valid arguments though.
Who should I listen to? Is Aura really, truly 100% better in every situation, or will Regal Classic (over a coat of primer) provide a better surface and better longevity? Cost is not a huge factor here, and we live in an old NYC apartment where we are covering decades of old paint. There are a few new surfaces to be painted, both bare metal and wood.

A: 45 years painting contractor here and used Regal Classic (333) during all this time.

The Regal Classic was the best formulated semi-gloss ever made by any company and Ben Moore replaced it with an inferior product called Regal Select. It costs more too! What I could get done with 1 coat with the Regal Classic now takes 2 coats with the Regal Select. Not a great improvement B. M. Regal Select dries too fast, has no body, (thin) doesn't level out well, and if you can't paint fast you will have problems. (brushmarks)
I have stopped buying Benjamin Moore products.

**Q: Anyone dare to paint BOTH trim and walls -- the SAME color??** *(in Design Dilemma)*

If so, what is the color and are you glad about that decision? Are there any advantages to doing this? (The trim and walls may be different sheens, of course; but that may affect how you perceive the color, too.) What kind of furnishings do you have -- mostly neutrals, splashes of color, or a great mix?

A: About 15 years ago I painted a newly constructed home, 5 1/2 baths, 2 staircases to the second level. Big house. The homeowner wanted all except ceilings and banisters to be painted a white semi gloss. Easy job. I used Benjamin Moore Regal Aqua- Glo 01. Top of the line semi gloss at the time imho. The look was stunning when you walked in the front door. After they moved in and decorated it was absolutely beautiful. Jcb Painting
