> I found Sightline Construction through a search on Houzz for a local, reputable contractor. After speaking with at least 3 separate contractors I found Billy Rickard of Sightline to be the most knowledgeable, professional, and personable. I explained that I had two bathrooms that needed to be completely rennovated. The main bathroom required knocking out and reframing an exterior wall,  building & re-leveling the concrete foundation, and moving and installing windows. The entire space was "gutted" and Billy, along with his team of pro technicians, worked with me throughout the process to implement the vision I had for the room. Someone was always available to answer my questions and/or brainstorm ideas for sourcing materials and making technical and design recommendations. While rennovating the main bathroom Sightline also installed the same porcelain tile flooring throughout the main bedroom, hall, and walk-in closet and suggested radiant heat (maps) which has been a wonderful addition! The overall craftsmanship of the team was impressive. Both in the main & hall bathrooms, the floor and shower/bath tiling were impeccably placed. The carpentry including wainscoting, cabinetry, and shelving were near perfect. Every step of the way, Billy and his team strived to stay on target with their time and cost. As with any construction project there are always unforeseen "mishaps" like delayed materials, a miscommunication of design, etc. There were some of those along the way but - as stressful as it can be - Billy made every effort to limit them and/or remedy the situation as soon as possible. The overall cost I believe was reasonable. Billy made sure I knew of any cost-effective measures I could take but he also understood that I was looking for quality above all. I have been enjoying the new space/s for a couple of years now. When/if I plan any new rennovations to additional rooms I would not hesitate to call Sightline again.

> I have dealt with one other contractor & with no hesitation, Billy & his team come HIGHLY recommended by us, & I do not think I would go with anyone else at this point. Billy helped us build 2 ADUs on our property + master bedroom extension. They say first impressions last, Billy showed up to our first meeting (no guarantee of a contract) with our engineer's plans printed out & ready to do a walkthrough on our ideas for the property. The eventual road blocks we hit, Billy always found an economical way of navigating through them & tried to save us as much money as possible, however construction is pricey here in Santa Cruz, so that is a tough thing to do. The biggest thing for us was communication, transparency & honesty. Billy filled all those things for us. You get what you pay for, & I think we found just the right amount of balance of price & quality with Sightline Construction. Thank you Billy for making our property even better than what we imagine it to be!

He suggested a modification to the original plans that did away with an internal support post, and worked with the structural engineer and county planners to make it happen.
