> I thoroughly enjoyed working with Jennifer of J. Myers & Assoc on my kitchen remodel and love the result! At our first meeting, Jennifer established my priorities and reviewed my “inspiration” photos & clippings. I was impressed that she often circled back to these guiding principles throughout the design phase.
>
> Jennifer also served as project manager for the job, and as such, her extensive knowledge of construction and ability to work well with the contractors were invaluable. The fact that she was also the designer, who knew both the intent and details of the design inside out, meant that she could easily resolve any question that came up.
>
> I highly recommend J. Myers & Associates for your design project and will definitely use them again should I have the need.

> I've built 3 houses and remodeled 5 or 6, but this was the first time I've used a professional design service. I have to say I wish I had had Jennifer helping on my previous project! She was personable and professional at all times. listened to what we were trying to achieve and gave suggestions and advice based on what she learned of our preferences. The project was remodeling a kitchen in a condo, without having to redo everything in order to make it match (cost savings). Between Jennifer and the contractor they were able to get exact matches to existing parts that weren't being remodeled. The result is a beautiful integrated whole new kitchen. I would definitely work with Jennifer again if/when I have another project.

> I have had the pleasure of working with Jennifer over 9 years on numerous projects. Her positive energy, great eye for color, attention to detail and thoughtful process while keeping her client's needs in mind make it an enjoyable experience for everybody. She is a delight to work with!

> Jennifer,
>
> I just wanted to thank you for what I believe is coming up on 24 years of working together in this industry. I am always amazed to see what kind of new and exciting ideas you come up with for each project that fits each client to a T. I'm also thankful for your wonderful clientele and wonder if everyone you deal with is family because when I am on-site that is the feeling that I get. I think it also says something about you in your character how you can maintain a relationship with many of your contractors for so many years.

> We are a bit more than half way through our 3rd project with Jennifer. I brought her this particular client, a 3rd time repeat customer of mine, and I cannot say enough about how well she has shown up, listened to the clients vision and my ideas and produced a lovely plan for this basement conversion to bedroom, playroom and bath.
> Her attention to detail and the team spirit with which she works with me to implement the clients' needs has been immensely helpful.

**Comment from J. Myers & Associates - Interior Design Portland:**

> Thanks Trace! Working with your team and the clients has been great!

**★★★★★ — Jim Boyd, Dec. 2016**

> Jennifer always knows exactly what I need. I have done a few things on my own and when they are done I have to ask Jennifer how to correct my mistakes. She is always wonderful to work with and never makes me feel like I messed up. I have finally learned to ask Jennifer first, that ensures that I will love the out come.

**Comment from J. Myers & Associates - Interior Design Portland:**

> Jim, it's always a pleasure working with you and helping you create the home of your dreams ... you have wonderful taste and a wonderful collection of art and accessories so it's great to design with them and see them displayed in your home. I think the kitchen tile was one of the best construction ideas we did for this house!

**★★★★★ — Michelle Whittaker, Dec. 2016**

> It has truly been been a gratifying experience working with Jennifer Meyers. She has lead the design project for D'Vida Injury Clinic and Wellness Center's new location. Her team helped with the space planning for the new center, creating the space for all new treatment rooms, front desk reception, and multiple offices.
>
> She has gone above and beyond to make this project successful, helped me overcome setbacks with the contractors and circumvent major potential problems. Her ability to successfully bring together beautiful design elements with major functional and practical considerations has truly impressed me and my team. As this project has unfolded and is coming to a close, I can really appreciate her work and forward thinking on the entire scope of this project and it's budget.
>
> She has an uncanny ability to understand the needs of the client and the expression of who we are, and has seen through the whole project to complete and full vision of what we were seeking. Jennifer is always thinking outside the box, and truly makes it a collaborative experience with a client.
>
> Having had worked with several designers in the past, I can honestly say that this is by far the best experience I have ever had and Jennifer Meyers is an experienced professional and artist in her design work and process. I'm so excited to open the new and gorgeous Wellness Center in 2017. Thank you Jennifer.

**Comment from J. Myers & Associates - Interior Design Portland:**

> MIchelle, - thank you so much for thoughtful words and comments. We enjoyed working with you on your new clinic and making it something that works well for your team. It is a very inviting and welcoming space!

> We are working with Jennifer again, now on our second condo remodel with her. She is respectful of our budget and style. We are appreciative of her ability to work with my husband and myself to find choices we both love...not an easy task! Her sense of color and the suggestions she brings to the project have made each condo feel distinct and like home. Would use her again in a minute!

**Comment from J. Myers & Associates - Interior Design Portland:**

> Thanks Deb! Working with you both is such a pleasure! It is great to see how the three of us team up to make the final decisions ... Each project has been unique and wonderful to see come together! Now you just can come to town and ENJOY!

> I asked Jennifer to help me with some basic redecorating in my condo.
> She helped with color selection for painting, lighting choices, and area rugs.
> Jennifer spent several hours with me at home, listening to what I wanted. That
> day we chose the paint colors, and talked about lighting and rugs.
> She followed up with specific lighting and rug recommendations, and was
> available when I had to contact her with a question.
> I'm very happy with the services provided.

> Jennifer Myers is easy to work with. She maintains an excellent rapport with her clients, as well as the various suppliers she works with. We at Mallet Bespoke Furniture especially value Jennifer's professionalism. We trust her straightforward approach and know that she is reliable in all aspects of her work. Not only does Jennifer's design expertise span the range from traditional to contemporary, and successful blending of the two, her clients respect her judgement and return to her repeatedly over the years.

**Comment from J. Myers & Associates - Interior Design Portland:**

> Thank you Elizabeth - working with the creative and talented team at Mallet is always so inspiring. You have help create and fabricate some amazing custom pieces for my clients and are always a fabulous resource for my custom needs.

**★★★★★ — msfuller39, Dec. 2015**

> We have enjoyed working with Jennifer Myers for many years on our home. What started as a bathroom update, followed by a kitchen remodel has moved throughout the home over the years. Most recently we enlisted Jennifer to update our family room furnishings for an upcoming event that was happening at our home. She met our very tight time-frame for new furnishings while being mindful of making sure our furniture was pet friendly and would work for our families lifestyle. Everything was installed on time and our room was transformed with a new and fresh look.
> She is always professional and friendly to work with. Whether we had a tight budget or a tight time-frame, her creativity design experience has always exceeded our expectations.
> We can’t recommend working with Jennifer and her team more. We are looking forward to our next update, remodel project, and working with Jennifer and her team!

**★★★★★ — donnalikes, Dec. 2015**

> Jennifer is in the process of helping us redecorate our beach house and has done an excellent job. Our project has included large and small scale changes, ranging from a kitchen remodel (granite, backsplash, tile, etc.) to choosing paint and carpet. She is very experienced, works well with vendors and others, provides options and is conscientious of our budget. She is a very good communicator, goes the extra mile, is open to ideas, and delivers what she promises. I recommend her highly to anyone looking for a designer and who wants not only experience and great ideas/taste/results, but wants someone who is easy to work with, willing to listen, and very creative!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Undefined entry ... light fixture or another can?** *(in Lighting)*

This is front entry of our new home ... directly into great room. Half pony wall has been removed, in addition to all the flooring & POPCORN ceilings. There are already canned lights in the large room. Wondering if another entry fixture (flush or semi-fl) would be appropriate, or another fixture to somewhat define the area. Will probably put entry table on wall to the right of door. No more drapes - getting plantation shutters for bay window. Flooring will be vinyl planks (same stuff all the way through). Suggestions for light fixture, or easy way out with another can?? THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT!

A: I would suggest a can light for your entry. If you go with an entry table without knowing your exact dimensions, it's looking tight so I would suggest something narrow or nothing at all.

**Q: Love the bed! Can you tell me the manufacturer?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thank you for your interest in the bed of this home. The bed was a custom bed for the client from a local craftsperson. The clean lines and contemporary look are fabulous.

**Q: Love the bright colors and white accents.** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where did you find the lattice stool for her vanity? I love the bed spread and find it hard to such fun bright colors in bedding for adults. Do you remember the brand of the comforter? Thank you! You do lovely work. I hope to afford your help one day!

A: This project was initially installed in 2008 and then moved for the clients. The bright colored comforter came from Pottery Barn and I can't remember the garden stool. You might check Wisteria and Grandinroad as online sources -- I think they may have garden stools and sometimes brighter colors in their bedding ... I was enjoyable creating and using the brighter colors for this client. Good luck and we look forward in working with you sometime in the future!

**Q: Tile choice and pattern** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am a little nervous posting this as I feel like I have decided on this tile - lol. What I am really looking for is pointers on style/pattern for installation. Our plan was countertop to ceiling on back wall. I chose this tile as it was modern but not busy - as well as easy to clean. Don't be alarmed by blue - haven't quite finished peeling protective coating.

A: To work with your contemporary look if line up as a straight lay. If you are not stopping under the cabinets then yes around the window - maybe eliminate the casing and tile the surround as well ... All clean to the eye then. Not sure in the size so be thoughtful of that in relationship to your spaces so you don't end up with small/tiny cuts ...

**Q: Are marble subway tiles a bad choice for a tub/shower?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have choosen a beautiful dark gray 12x24 inch tile for our bathroom floor, and had picked out a marble subway for 2 of the 3 walls around a tub ( 3rd wall will be clear glass). The combo of the marble with the charcoal grey flooring and white countertop is beautiful and we love it, but are we opening ourselves up to a maintenance nightmare? It isn't a shower that we use that often, more for company. Appreciate any advice especially if you have lived with marble tile in your shower. Thanks

A: I don't see a problem - you can seal it as a precaution but marble has been used for centuries and is classic and beautiful...

**Q: Door knobs (hardware) finish?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have brass hardware for the kitchen cabinets and a stainless steel sink, faucet and stainless LG appliances. We are going for the modern farmhouse look. What color finish should i go with for the door knobs throughout the house? There is one door to the laundry( see pic) off of the kitchen that is in plain sight of the brass hardware and stainless appliances. Should I be concerned to have another finish for hardware?

A: I would suggest black for the interior door hardware. Many manufactures have that finish option but Emtek has a good selection for a standard hole bore - they also have a variety of back plates to add a extra bit of detailing ...
