I've read so many different opinions on Houzz that it seems like it may be a different decision in each home. Do I need to consider the eating area window for placement? I am planning on Roman shades or a tailored valance for that window. The floor is sunken about 8" in the family room. I will be hanging panels. Thanks for any help! Great look. I am enjoying the refrigerator however the double oven takes very long to reach desired temperature. Be sure to pre heat long before you normally would. **Q: Makeover or leave it alone?** *(in Design Dilemma)* We are currently trying to sell our house. We have had two potential buyers think the fireplace is too small and/or odd. I agree it is a bit small for the 20x20 living room. Should we try to "rock" it or give it some sort of makeover? Or do you think someone will love the little guy? Please give your opinion of it A: Remove the horizontal mirror. It is too large and out of scale causing the fireplace to look smaller. Try this. Look for a long vertical and somewhat narrow wall art. An abstract would look great. The vertical piece can go way up to elongate the fireplace.
