> I work with Annie Elliott Design on various projects and they’re phenomenal, professional, patient, and they have excellent communication skills. Their team does a great job in taking care of their clients. I highly recommend them for whichever project!

> Annie and her team at bossy color are fantastic. Annie has helped us decorate our entire house, from furniture selection, to rugs, window dressing and accessories, Annie's sense of style and color are impeccable. Annie was also critical in assisting us with design advice when we renovated our kitchen last year. I would recommend Annie and her team to anyone looking for an amazing (and down-to-earth) designer!

> As kitchen and bath designers, we’ve worked with Annie Elliott / Bossy Color on many projects over the years and the collaborations are always a resounding success. Annie and her team are easy to work with – she is organized, detail-oriented and a consummate professional. She brings a passion for design and a collaborative attitude to every joint venture. Our specializations are distinct and clearly defined and project communication is seamless.
>
> Annie’s design style is unique and her use of color and pattern are just fearless - at times even awe-inspiring. We love the final product and feel that our joint clients benefit by getting a more personal, rich, and layered space as a result of the collaboration.

> Having made the move from a small condo in the city to a much-larger house in the suburbs, I was overwhelmed by empty rooms. Practically paralyzed, I contacted Annie. As soon as we began talking, I went from being overwhelmed by the task before me to being excited about my design project. Annie offered the perfect balance of listening to what I hoped for, asking important questions about how I imagined my family would live in the space, and then providing specific direction and suggestions based on her incredible taste, experience, and design skill. With her good-natured prodding, she encouraged me to consider options that I might otherwise have dismissed. The result: a home that I am thrilled live in.
>
> Any design project is an investment – financial, emotional, and of one’s time. Annie is sensitive to that investment on all fronts. An admirable combination of proactive and responsive to the client, I felt confident that I was in good hands. With her enthusiasm, sense of humor, and genuine desire to create something wonderful, Annie was truly delightful to work with. I will be calling on Annie again soon and recommend her unequivocally!

> We have worked with Annie Elliott on a number of projects over the past 6 years, including: (1) an extensive reconfiguration and renovation of the lower level of our house into a playroom, kitchen, guest bedroom and bathroom, gym, and storage area, (2) renovation of our home office, (3) renovation of our master bath, (4) renovation of our entry way (including custom built wall of closets and retiling a vestibule, using the historic 100-year old tiles to the extent possible) as well as (5) furniture purchases and paint colors for a child's bedroom, master bedroom, and living room.
> Annie listened carefully to what we were looking for, in terms of style, design and color, and price. She also was respectful and responsive to how we wished the process to be (e.g., for her to narrow down the options and offer only a few choices rather than a large myriad of options). We often found exactly what we were looking for from her first selections. But those times when we rejected her proposals, she moved on with a smile and offered other options. We have been thrilled with results!
> In terms of timing, we found that Annie met realistic timetables. Renovations and furniture purchases are not quick processes, and these projects were no different than any others we have undertaken in the past, meaning that they take a good deal of time and energy.
> We would wholeheartedly recommend Annie Elliott!

> I have been working with Annie for @6 years. She and her team are top notch. She has been consistently responsible with project budgets. She has helped us with renovations and the interior design of two homes, and she routinely presents options at different price points. In addition to presenting gorgeous, inspired designs, and helping me create homes that my family loves, she and her team are extremely professional and detail-oriented. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
>
> I started working with Annie in 2006 and our relationship has been ongoing. Our projects have included a large colonial home in Chevy Chase, MD and an old farm house (built in the early 1800s) out on the Chesapeake Bay. I would be happy to talk to or share photos with anyone interested.

**★★★★★ — aberfoylegirl, June 2013**

> Annie Elliott worked for me on two projects: remodeling an entire two bedroom/two bath high end condominium and updating a living room in our brick colonial. Her work ALWAYS exceeded my expectations.
>
> Annie combines an extraordinary sense of color and design with a great work ethic and customer sensitivity. She is totally engaged with her craft and up-to-date on trends, colors, fabrics, and designs. She was timely in completing her tasks and always stuck to the prices we agreed upon. She has strong relationships with vendors who are always glad to see her and give her good prices and service. I particularly liked the fact that we saved money on certain items in order to choose a tile or carpet that would make a difference.
>
> Most importantly, Annie was sensitivity to my needs, preferences, and life-style. She began by studying the pieces of furniture and art I wanted to keep and asking questions about functionality. I looked forward to her visits and was ecstatic with our choices. She definitely made me feel as though I was an integral part of all final decisions. If one is looking for a designer with talent, experience, and the ability to work WITH a client, not FOR a client, Annie Elliott is the home designer for you.

> Annie came to my rescue again when I needed help selecting and placing artwork throughout my house. She weeded through a large and diverse collection, recommended frames where needed, labeled each spot for the installers, and then rearranged the furniture in my living room to open up the space. Annie is incredibly intuitive and seems to know what I like before I do. I originally hired her to design a kitchen & bath remodel in 2009 (total cost over $10,000). I had no idea how to set a budget, find a contractor or select materials and finishes. She was very clear about prices and fees, sensitive to my cost concerns, worked closely with me on everything, recommended products and colors (red powder room, purple kitchen counters) I had not considered, provided troubleshooting with the contractor, and even corrected problems with the cabinet manufacturers at no cost to me. Bossy Color improved my home -- and my life!

**★★★★★ — mikkala, June 2013**

> We moved into a beautiful but somewhat bland rental rowhouse, and needed help with paint colors and furniture. Annie and bossy color were amazing - she took time to get to know what we wanted and how we live, and respected our budgetary constraints. She totally nailed it on the paint colors while giving us options to work with. She also helped us choose and customize a sofa - not just the fabric but the size (I was worried it would be too big but I trusted her and it turned out AMAZINGLY), consulted on the design of a custom-made dining room table (again, awesome) and has provided all manner of advice and suggestion when it comes to rugs, coffee tables, lamps, and other renter- and budget-friendly options for making a place your own.
>
> Also, although the process of getting our sofa made was excruciatingly long due to fabric shortages and what seemed like poor communication on the part of the vendor, I must say that Annie and her team were very professional and communicative throughout. They kept us informed at every step along the way, and kept our spirits up.
>
> In short, Annie is a talented designer and a pleasure to work with. I would certainly recommend her services.

**★★★★★ — amwh1, June 2013**

> Annie is an absolute pleasure to work with. She is creative, enthusiastic and has a great eye for color and placement and loads of wonderful ideas and suggestions. I had never worked with an interior designer but after choosing the wrong paint colors several times on my own, I decided to call a professional and boy am I lucky to have found Annie! Annie transformed my house with color and flair that that made my home truly "me." She asked lots of questions and made suggestions and was never judgmental. Her pleasing personality and terrific can-do attitude made my home transformation so much fun and she taught me so much about what I didn't know! She gives you so many options and has tremendous resources to tap into. She worked beautifully within my limited budget and I am so pleased with the results. My house is painted with great colors to reflect my personality and taste. The lighting, artwork and accessories she suggested are all winners and I love what Annie and BossyColor have done for me. I recommend her without any reservation. I would love to show my home to everyone to share what Annie accomplished! BossyColor is the BEST!

**★★★★★ — sarahdsp, June 2013**

> Annie was a joy to work with. She helped us think through every aspect of the design of a newly remodeled house--two actually! We used her for both of our remodels and would recommend her to anyone. Our second remodel was particularly challenging because we completely modernized the house. Annie worked with the architect, contrator, and us to make sure all the details were right and took our tastes and budget into consideration. She is a delight.

**★ — jasonmprior, June 2013**

> Annie is an excellent interior designer. Her ideas and color choices were exceptional. However, her ability to stay on budget and complete the agreed upon project are what bring down her overall quality. She charged nearly double the expected fee after losing track of the hours spent on the project and tried to claim it was rushed on our behalf (which we never requested or wanted). We wound up with a partially completed design and have had to hire another designer to complete the project. While Annie initially made efforts to rectify the overages and complete loss of budget control, she ultimately chose not to fulfill all of those agreements either. Ultimately, her design ideas are great and she is an excellent option for those with unlimited budgets or the time to ensure she sticks to the agreed upon project. For the rest of us, choose someone else.

**Comment from Annie Elliott Design:**

> Hello, all - Annie here. Thank you so much for the terrific reviews! I appreciate your taking the time to write in. The negative review, however, does not accurately reflect how this project unfolded, and I feel I must respond.
>
> My team and I fulfilled 100% of our contract for this client. We delivered two design plans that delighted the client and fell within the original budget. As time went on, however, the scope of work expanded while the budget did not. We updated the budget repeatedly so he could see how his additional demands were affecting the bottom line, but he had no apparent realization of the situation.
>
> Near the end of the project, the client told us that he was unhappy paying for the time we had spent on his project, and I forgave an invoice in an attempt to maintain a good working relationship. After this, the client attempted to bully me into delivering additional design services for free. Because I did not yield to his request, we received this review.
>
> Please be assured that my team and I take budgets and deadlines seriously, and that we are meticulous in our time- and record-keeping. Please be in touch, and I will be delighted to send you references that accurately reflect our clients’ experiences working with us. Thank you.

Love this--so serene and bright! Are there any details available about the flooring?
