**★★★★★ — Keith Battista, Sept. 2024**

> Gloria transformed our dated Victorian into a light-filled, modern home with warmth and truth to its historic roots. She is a brilliantly creative professional who is trustworthy and a joy to work with. The only downside of our project completion is that we MISS her!

**★★★★★ — danielgelfant, June 2024**

> Gloria and the Post team created the house we wanted, and so much more. Every room works on its own, but also as part of an elegantly integrated whole. Gloria has vision, and just as (or more) importantly, was eager to elicit, solicit and incorporate our feedback at every step along the way, taking our thoughts into wonderful, unimagined directions. The results were spectacular. We can’t recommend Post highly enough.

**★★★★★ — vescane, March 2023**

> Gloria was a delight to work with. We gutted a large part of our Edwardian semi in a heritage district during the pandemic, so our project offered its fair share of challenges, but Gloria cheerfully guided us through it all with a steady hand. She offers a keen eye and creative solutions to both major and minor challenges, and always with a diplomatic tone. She understood our desires, and when structural or pandemic issues got in the way, she found new paths forward. She also worked collaboratively with our designer and landscape architect to ensure the various parts worked together in a cohesive whole. Most importantly, she had a superb relationship with our building contractor, which made the project far easier to manage than we expected, especially given the supply and cost constraints in the pandemic. Overall, we would highly recommend Gloria to anyone looking for a strong vision and clear execution.

**Comment from post architecture inc:**

> you're right : we started building not knowing what was to come ..thankfully it's past us and you could laugh about steel costs now.. you guys were a dream to work with !

**★★★★★ — Erika David, Jan. 2023**

> When you’ve spent almost 20 years dreaming of building a home and finally you’ve found the perfect neighbourhood and the perfect lot at the perfect price, the next hurdle is finding the perfect architect. While we thought that would be a difficult task, at the end of our first meeting with Gloria, my husband and I knew we’d found The perfect person to take us from dream to dream house.
>
> Gloria was the gentle realist we didn’t know we needed when our wish list got out of hand (which was often). She was the coach who had our back when our plan to build a modestly-sized bungalow still managed to become ensnared in a tangle of municipal red tape, and she was our muscle when the first builder we hired tried to take us to the cleaners. Best of all, though, she was the talented visionary and mindreader who understood what we wanted and needed in a home and worked tirelessly with us to make it happen.
>
> Thank you so much, Gloria, to you and your talented team at Post Architecture.

**★★★★★ — John, Jan. 2023**

> Renovations can be stressful, you're constantly worried about permits, timelines, construction, materials, budgets and more. Gloria and her team were the calm in my renovation storm. They understood my brief and helped ensure that my project came to life in a remarkable way.

**Comment from post architecture inc:**

> it helps to have awesome clients ! thanks john and erika !

**★★★★★ — Matt, April 2020**

> I give the highest recommendation possible of Gloria. Our experience with her has been wonderful in all respects. She is a brilliant architect who somehow turned our very vague wishes into something more amazing than we could have imagined. She has a wealth of knowledge about everything; she has great ideas and creative solutions; she’s a great listener and helped us work through our own thinking; she is detail oriented and completely reliable; and we found her budget to be quite reasonable throughout. She is also an absolute pleasure to work with.

**★★★★★ — Stephanie Nickson, Feb. 2020**

> If you are looking for a collaborative team of outstanding and creative professionals to transform your house, we cannot recommend Post Architecture enough.
>
> From start to finish, Gloria and her team listened to our needs and wishes, maximized the existing space, suggested design and finish elements and looked for ways to create a house that we cannot believe is ours.
>
> We were most impressed with the creative approach to their design. They were open to a mix of high end and lower cost elements to help us manage our budget. Communication was timely, transparent and feedback was welcomed. Post Architecture offered valuable design support that so we were not overwhelmed by the innumerable decisions that needed to be made; windows, lighting, counters, flooring, cabinets, tile and so much more.
>
> Before the renovation, we were in our century semi-detached home for 12 years; now the final product feels (and is) a new house that exceeds our expectations.

**Comment from post architecture inc:**

> S & D, you guys were incredible to work with : open minded, smart, and fun - and this is what comes through in the design! So thrilled to have worked with you, so pleased with your (gorgeous) reno and looking forward to the housewarming party ... ;)

**★★★★★ — jarn111, Oct. 2018**

> I loved working with Gloria. She helped bring our vision to life, seamlessly integrating our ideas with her own style and expertise. Gloria and her team helped to address our questions and concerned throughout the process. Our project was fast moving, and she worked hand in hand with the contractor to ensure that we stayed on time, and on budget. She was always available to answer questions and address any concerns that came up. I enjoyed the entire process and we are super happy with our home!

> It has truly been a pleasure to work with Gloria Apostolou and Post Architecture. We feel very fortunate to have found Gloria through Houzz. Gloria worked with us to redesign and renovate the interior of our Edwardian home in the Annex. We hired her based on her experience with our type of home and her uniformly positive references from other clients.
>
> We are so very pleased with the results. We give her five stars and recommend her highly for the following reasons: Gloria listened to our needs and preferences and used these to create a stunning new space for us that dramatically improves the overall function of our house; she has excellent attention to detail and beautiful, modern, intelligent aesthetic; she was always quick to respond to our questions and was easy to work with – so professional and personable; and she worked seamlessly with Inline Design+Build.
>
> We have been so happy with the process of the renovation and the results and would certainly hire Gloria again for another renovation project.

**★★★★★ — David Sharp, Dec. 2016**

> We worked with Gloria for over a year on planning and implementing our interior home renovation. We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome and the process along the way. Gloria and her team were professional, sensitive to our needs, flexible with timelines, understanding and respectful of our concerns, and worked seamlessly with our contractor - an attribute that we've come to greatly appreciate.
>
> Gloria's vision for our home suited our tastes and we worked well together to refine that vision. Her ability to see the finished product during construction was impressive as is her eye for detail, design and practical matters.
>
> It was easy to trust her sense of what was right for our home and us; there were numerous times when we were pleasantly surprised, both before and after the renovation was completed, to see how well the various components Gloria had a hand in, worked together.
>
> We highly recommend Gloria and Post Architecture.

**Comment from post architecture inc:**

> Hi David, Thank you so much for your kind words! It was a joy to work with you.

**★★★★★ — Jeff Seider, Dec. 2016**

> Gloria Apostolou and post Architecture are highly recommended. Gloria clearly understood our vision for the extensive renovation of our mid-century modern home and produced extraordinarily comfortable living spaces and a home that we are proud to call our own. She was quick to respond to and address our concerns providing sound recommendations and design solutions, she worked well with the contractor and subs, her attention to detail was simply excellent, and she deftly managed the interface between achieving the design vision and the practical resolution of construction realities and site conditions. And her ability to achieve the fine balance between cost efficiency and design excellence is to be commended. Gloria was an absolute gem to work with.

**Comment from post architecture inc:**

> Thank you, Jeff! I enjoyed every minute of working with you and Sandy and am so pleased with the results!

**★★★★★ — Lauren Sellen, Nov. 2016**

> I don't have enough great things to say about Gloria and Post Architecture. We are beyond grateful that we found her on Houzz. She was a delight to work with and our project was definitely elevated because of her. I can't imagine doing our kitchen and basement without her. She had incredible ideas and worked out any arising issues calmly and with grace. She was always available when we needed her and such a pleasure to be around. The drawings were virtually identical to the finished product and her recommendation of contractor was also invaluable to us. The level of quality they practice is second to none. She took my fragments of dreams and ideas and made them come to life in a way I couldn't have imagined. Post Architecture definitely exceeded our expectations, we had a great experience and would most definitely use them in the future.

**Comment from post architecture inc:**

> Lauren, Matt, thank you guys soooo much as well for being such lovely clients and dreaming the perfect dream! couldn't have turned out as well as it did without your input.

  - Location: Toronto, ON
  - Photos: 29
  - Description: A semi-detached home in Toronto's picturesque Little Italy neighbourhood once felt too small for its owners. Prior to the renovation, the homeowners’ ability to host dinner parties was limited due to size of the living, dining, and kitchen spaces; their extensive art collection was crowded and hidden by poor lighting, and narrow hallways and rooms inhibited even the size of furniture they could bring into the home. With a mere 13'-6” width, this downtown dwelling required two strategic additions…

  - Description: In the Urban Farmhouse, careful consideration of the architectural past was taken to re-imagine a century old farmhouse as a contemporary home re-built on the site where it stood since the 1800’s. Situated in Toronto’s Bennington Heights neighbourhood, the property is adjacent to the scenic Beltline Trail and creek. The Owners wanted to renovate and expand the existing 2-storey farmhouse but it was in too poor a condition to be maintained so the decision was made to take it down and build new, k…

  - Description: Located in the Toronto’s east-end community of Riverdale, this residential house, faces a favourite neighbourhood park. Post Architecture was brought in to dramatically open up the house to exterior the views, while collaborating with a team of engineers, builders, and designers to make the century- old house perform to modern standards. Accommodating a modern aesthetic is not easy to achieve in old masonry structures without major intervention, but also requires sensitivity when introducing it…

- [Barton](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/barton-pj-vj~1831735)
  - Location: Toronto, ON
  - Photos: 9
  - Description: The ground floor kitchen at the rear of this Annex house was remodelled to open up views to the south-facing rear yard, as were the rooms on the upper levels. Working within the existing envelope of the house, the structure was re-engineered to allow for a spatious and stunning kitchen, in what was a tight and cramped cooking area originally. The black island serves as a focal point, while the white millwork quietly blends in with the white walls.
- [Amelia](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/amelia-pj-vj~183998)
  - Location: Toronto, ON
  - Photos: 18
  - Description: Amelia Street, where the house is located, is heritage protected as most streets are in the neighbourhood of Cabbagetown in Toronto. As a result the only changes that were allowed to be made to the streetscape were period details typical of the Victorian era. The owners wanted to bring in as much light as possible to this once-dark row house. We opened up the rear walls, on all 4 levels, to views of the south-facing garden. The thin black-painted steel mullions, which support the individual pane…

The renovation therefore was contained to the existing footprint of the original cottage, but tested the limits of the existing structure as it was gutted, openings were moved or extended, beams were re-enforced, and then re-clad or, in some cases, left exposed. ## Community Q&A

**Q: Gorgeous bathroom!** *(in Photo Questions)*

May I ask where you sourced the vanity?

Thank you!

A: hi j thanks ! the vanity was custom built for this space so not store bought. i know they are hard to find in the size and finish you want so we often end up fabricating them.

**Q: Dimensions of the shower** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'd love to know the approx. dimensions of this shower!

A: the shower is approx 42” x 48”.

**Q: Who made the door?** *(in Photo Questions)*

This is just like the exterior door I'd like to get for my office shed. Can you kindly share cost, brand/design and color/styles choices? Thank you!

A: the door is from Trim Line.. i believe it could be special ordered from Home Depot.

**Q: How do they manage noise/privacy in an open bedroom?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Happy Canada Day.
We love this house, especially the third floor.
How do the home owners manage noise/privacy with such an open concept? Thanks.

A: thanks ! all the other bedrooms have doors so this room isn't really exposed to a living room or other spaces where noise can’t be controlled. happy canada day as well !

**Q: Where is the wall bed from , thanks?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where is the wall bed from, thanks?

A: the wall-bed (Murphy Bed) was custom built by our millworker, Laneway Millwork.

**Q: Love the barn door** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'd love more information on the barn door. Is the trim piece metal?

A: the barn door was made of real barn boards from the owners’ farm. the frame around them, and the track hardware above, are metal and were ordered from a US company by the millworker.
it is not an off the shelf item, so woukd need a millworker who could customize size and hardware to suit your opening.
