**Q: Master bedroom, big space, indecisive** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have some great furniture pieces in our master bedroom, but I haven't really decorated. I'd like to have the feel/colors be metallic (silver/gold) but in more of an earthy way and not in a glam way, if that makes sense. I was thinking of doing a stencil similar to this in colors.  . The problem is...
1\. The window behind to headboard makes it hard to just stencil that wall. 
2\. Where do I stencil?
3\. Stencil above the chair rail or below or neither?
4\. Or no stencil cause you have a way more awesome idea?
I'd love to get rid of the ceiling fan but my husband says that's not going to happen. He really really loves it and will cry if I take it away.

A: Your bedroom is beautiful and it has so much potential to give it the wow factor. Your bed is beautiful but to large for the space, I know moving it to a larger wall wouldn't give you easy access to the other side when climbing into bed. However, if you want to stencil or get similar type of wallpaper as you have shown, it would look amazing (do remove the middle wall moulding for a streamline wall, thus making the area less divided and walls and ceiling will appear higher). As for the window behind the wall, just get fabric with the same wallpaper design that you can have custom made go wall to wall, to give the pattern a continuous effect (Robert Allen carries wallpaper and same fabric). Also, higher night tables so it will look more symmetrical . Because your bed is a dark and warm colour, go with a lighter colour duvet (light grey colour fabric with a sheen would be nice) with some matching shams that you can have make to match walls and curtains. I would also move the rug further out and add a ottoman or chaise lounge, at the end of the bed to complete the look. Also, get a soft white light bulb because the yellow light changes the colour and effect of your walls, paint etc... Good luck.

**Q: Is it OK to have different wood floors in a home?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I need to replace my oak floors in the living room, as they are too scuffed for refinishing. I matched my newer 24x14 step down addition floors to my existing LR floor, as well as the hallway off the living room. However, the three bedrooms off the hallway all have different flooring (carpet, maple and kempas) I would love to put down a darker floor in the living room, but wonder if that would look weird.
I'd really appreciate feedback with my flooring dilemma.

A: If you notice the photo above they have colors on walls and furniture the pickup the darker shade which in turn harmonizes the space and bring all the colors together.  So, go ahead with a darker shade and enjoy your space. Love bamboo, but be careful with type of bamboo and where it is finished because exotic wood can be high maintenance if temperature in the house isn't regulated, it can work to your disadvantage in upkeep.  So do your research before hand.
