Distinctive Cabinetry of the High Country began as Distinctive Cabinetry and Design in 2002 when Dave and Pat Parks moved to the high country from Statesville, NC. Previously, they had owned and operated the Animal Hospital of Statesville for 35 years, serving Statesville, Lake Norman, Mooresville and Iredell County. While this path to the kitchen and bath business was s a bit unique, it was a path that prepared them well. Their veterinary clients and their pets needed close, personal care, a high level of skill and devoted service. That same commitment to competence,integrity and individual attention continued to be the basis of their new business philosophy. In 2005, daughter-in-law Leah Parks resigned her position as a vice president with Bank of America and joined Pat and Dave as a designer. The cabinets have held up really well, in fact they still look like new. With two small kids in the house one drawer recently began giving us problems due to the wear and tear that small kids seem to put on anything and everything! Leah and John could not have been more accommodating in setting up a time to come out and look at it. John quickly fixed the problem and then proceeded to check the other drawers to make sure they were still aligned and closing effectively. Given that it had been over five years since they installed everything, I certainly expected to pay a service fee for John's time, but was quite surprised when John would not accept any payment. > > I write this review because it speaks to how Distinctive Cabinetry runs their business. It is pretty easy to assess the tangible aspects of what they sell because you can see their previous work in pictures and check out their offerings in the showroom. They clearly do great work. Yet, what you can't see when you are looking for such a product/service are the intangibles that are way more important: integrity, trust, standing by your product, putting customer satisfaction ahead of profitability, etc. These are the attributes that Distinctive Cabinetry possess and they are the ones that will make sure you will have a great experience through all phases of the design and installation process. This company was sold and is now Touchstone Fine Cabinetry. They are located in Rutherfordton North Carolina. They are a mid range priced cabinetry manufacturer that makes semi-custom to fully custom cabinetry.
