> Craig has helped me update my old house on several occasions. His expertise in repairing and remodeling old unsquare or broken down dwellings is unparalleled. If you have a need for this type of work he would be the best choice available.

**★★★★ — Sue Baker, Sept. 2016**

> My husband and I have used Craig twice for projects at our home. He is always professional, courteous and fair. He worked with us to figure out a way we could afford our deck by allowing us to do some of the work ourselves and saving us almost $2000. He communicated with us at all times and was very clear on what to expect each step of the way. Craig really goes above and beyond to make sure you are a satisfied customer - very conscientious.

**★★★★★ — Roy Richards, April 2016**

> We recently re-modeled our bathroom and had only about a month to get it done between events. We hired Craig Thompson as our contractor and he was fantastic. He had all the sub contractors ready to go, one right after the other. He was here almost daily checking on the progress and work done. If we had a concern, we contacted him and it was addressed immediately. Each day when they left, they picked up after themselves and minimized the disruption re-modeling can caused. He and his crew were wonderful to work with and we would highly recommend Craig Thompson Contracting.

> From the design start to the finished renovation of our master bathroom, we found Craig Thommpson to be attentive to detail, clear in explanations, and very professional. So much so, that we immediately hired him to do a new kitchen pantry. Craig did some of the work himself, and he brought in very skilled workman to do the rest. The end result was exactly what we had been hoping for in terms of looks, function and workmanship. We have no hesitation in recommending him to our friends and others.

> The only guy we call. Period.
> From remodels, to complicated fixes around the home, Craig has been with us for years.
> He's not just a great Contractor, but a good guy that actually cares about what he's doing. Case in point, I have actually seen him turn the screws on a light switch to make them line up correctly. Attention to detail is awesome and we appreciate it. An honor to review him.

> Craig has done several jobs at our home - replacing dry rot and a new garage door with kitty door built in Craig was very professional from the first visit to review the project details taking photos of task at hand through the closure of the job Craig worked exactly within the time frame he quoted Craig was extremely clean in his work, when he left at the end of a work day you would not know work occurred that day because it was all cleaned up. We would use Craig for future projects!

> Craig Thompson has been my contractor of choice for over 30 years. The last project he did for me was installing roll out drawers in my kitchen and in my upstairs master bathroom. Craig is very easy to work with. He is truly a perfectionist in his work and it has shown on every project he has done for me. I always know his work will look and perform just as I expect it to.
>
> Craig's knowledge of the construction and remodeling business is outstanding. He is always on top of the latest materials and designs, and is able to explain in detail any questions I have regarding the project and the time line involved.
> I recommend him highly. He is always on time, and gets the job done when he says it will be done.

**★★★★★ — annehoney, May 2014**

> Craig Thompson did a rather challenging kitchen remodel for me. With Craig's expert advise I was able find a way get the most "bang for my buck". He always showed up when he said he would and did the work he said he was planning to do that day. The remodel was done for the price he said it would be.
> I really don't think you can ask for more than that.

**★★★★★ — dougkathy, May 2014**

> Craig Thompson Contracting completely remodeled the home we inherited before we moved in. We were very happy with the work. Craig Thompson is very pleasant to work with, and when there was anything with which we had a problem, Craig made it right. Another professional, who had seen the before and after of our house, stated that Craig had "made a silk purse out of a sow's ear". We totally agreed with that statement.

**★★★★★ — Creative Cabinets Inc, April 2014**

## Community Q&A

**Q: What type of professional do I hire for remodel plans?** *(in Remodeling)*

I have an offer in on a house that I would be interested in doing a lot of remodeling to, over time. I have a vision of how I'd want some things to go. While I would do one project at a time, I'd want to get plans for the whole house up front, so that I don't do something that isn't compatible with the next project later.
I don't think I'd want to contact one of the local design & remodel firms, because I have my own contractors I'll want to use, and possibly do some of the work myself. Also, I don't need help picking fixtures and finishes. Mainly I want to figure out what walls I can knock down, what rooms I can widen, etc. So do I just contact an architect? A structural engineer?
Just looking for some ideas on where to begin. Thanks!

A: An engineer is less costly than an architect and he can check it out and put his stamp on it.

**Q: Opened VS Closed Stairs** *(in Polls)*

When it comes to stairs, do you prefer opened or closed risers?

Cast your vote below and tell us which kind you have in your home! Photos are encouraged.

And if you don't have any stairs, tell us which one of these you'd prefer. :)

A: To partyof1 - That is a powerful reason to stay with closed risers. Thank you for sharing your experience. I am so very sorry for your loss. That, alone, is reason enough to close the risers.
