> I have hired d+e for residential architecture, landscape architecture, hardscape and drainage amelioration projects. He has a rare ability to integrate aesthetic, technical and governmental issues. He has great insight into people, too. The design he would do for you would be different from what he might design for your neighbor; he makes sure he understands the resident before he designs the residence. d+e is a great resource for anyone wants harmony between their building and their land, between the human and natural spheres. Some of the things he suggested in his concept drawings I thought I didn’t like, but he was always right! Over the course of several projects, I learned to trust his eye—he  draws on a huge range of experience. He also has a great skill to see both the big picture and the small details, and how they will work together. Highest recommendation!

> We bought a simple 1940’s house that had been added to and adorned over the years in need of a complete renovation. Interviewed several local architects who were not interested in the project. Contacted Peter, sent him some photographs and he was very interested. Peter flew to Key West to survey the project and get an idea of what we had in mind. In a short timeframe he had preliminary plans to totally change the house to match our wish list and create a uniform style. Peter’s plan removed old undesirable additions, added a new light filled great room and retained the charm of the original house. The expanse of windows and doors allows the garden and pool to become part of the living area. Working with Peter was easy. He listened to his client’s ideas, gave options to overcome unforeseen issues rather than only one way solutions and worked closely with the builder to ensure a quality product. The end result is an incredible home that began a transformation for the rest of our street.

A: Hi. The wall is a simple flat white -- believe it or not. It's just picking up ambient light from outside. The floors are white oak.
