Washington Marble Works is a family owned and operated business. In 1984, John Pistilli and his wife Carla purchased Lakewood Masonry Supply where they provided a variety of masonry products in South Pierce County. Over the years, many people would come in requesting marble and granite. While continuing to offer masonry products, John began fabricating stone for various applications including granite countertops, and custom fireplaces. The fabricating business took off and Washington Marble Works was formed making them the first marble and granite fabricator in Pierce County.

The company is now located in the beautiful city of Sumner with a stunning showroom in a historic house on Zehnder Street. While they are still involved in the business, both of John and Carla's children now work for the company. Their son David, is the production manager and their daughter Kristy, is the sales and marketing manager.

Washington Marble Works is a Granite and Quartz fabricator and installer. We have a showroom in Sumner, WA. We have been in the stone business for 30 years.

> I went in yesterday to pay the remainder of my balance. The young girl had no clue how much I owed, and first gave me the full amount before my downpayment. As I wrote the check she was so engrossed in texting on her phone she couldn't answer my simple question on the date. Also, though I usually wouldn't care, her short cutoff jeans and tshirt only seemed to enhance her casual and unprofessional attitude.

**Comment from Washington Marble Works:**

> Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear you were not happy with your experience in our showroom. It is always our goal for customers to be highly satisfied with both their countertops and our service. It sounds like you made it into our showroom to pay your final bill before our accounting department had an opportunity to prepare your final invoice. We really appreciate your prompt payment and apologize for not being ready when you came in. I have spoken with both of the women on our sales team and reminded them to monitor their cell phone use when customers are present, even for work related calls and texts. We are also considering revising our dress code based on your input. I hope this experience does not prevent you from enjoying your beautiful new countertops. Please let us know if there is anything we can help you with in the future.

> Unfortunately I do not have a good review of this company. We went to the showroom and picked out or slab, got an estimate, left a deposit and set an appointment to have the cabinets measured. The day after the initial visit we received an call and our estimate doubled due to an error on there part....ok it is what it is but not always easy to swallow. The day of the scheduled appointment the person supposed to come measure was a no show, 3 hours after the scheduled appointment I called and he was at the office and said he was leaving....I believe he forgot. At the time of the measurement the gentleman set up the install date for several weeks later. I called a few days prior to the scheduled appointment to confirm we were still on as they were hard to trust at this point...glad I called, they explained that they were not going to make the appointment due to a large commercial job that they were running behind on and re scheduled me for a few days later (today). Last straw, they called yesterday afternoon about 3pm to tell me that they would need to reschedule once again. This was not a good experience. Unprofessional, poor communication and when I cancelled they didn't ask why or even sound like they cared. Must be because this was one bathroom.....maybe it was not enough money for them to worry about. To bad for them as I was just trying to finish a small job and have many many more to complete. I am a Real Estate Professional with my own firm and had this turned out better there would have been a significant amount of work...No thank you.

> We recently remodeled our kitchen and I must say it was a bit overwhelming. However, Washington Marble Works was extremely professional and their customer service was amazing. They were very patient while I was trying to make all of the decisions and gave me helpful guidance and I believe they went above and beyond to make sure the process went smoothly. They guarantee their work and strive to meet your needs. I would highly recommend their services and can confidently say I was very thankful for all of their help and was pleased with our experience with them.

> I have used Washington Marble several times in the past with total satisfaction, they are a small family owned business that will give all their customers the attention to details that create a perfect job.
> They are currently doing another complete residential project that will be my own personal home.
> I would highly recommend them to anyone for their project that will leave a finished project that you will be proud of...

> We had WMW supply and install quartz kitchen counter tops with a stainless steel undermount sink. Cost, delivery and install was all exactly as quoted. Installer seemed rushed and miss cut the counter at the range so that the range could not slide all the way back into place. When I called WMW to tell them the issue they sent the installer our right away to fix it.
>
> Product looks great in our kitchen. I will buy from WMW again when we do our downstairs bathroom.

> It is a pleasure to work with Washington Marble Works for more than twenty-five years. Often I share the story of purchasing my first piece of Carrera Marble from them as a young person. I still enjoy it today on my great grandmother's dough-table. This was the first of many jobs I have collaborated with them. As an professional interior designer, often I am overhauling kitchens, flooring and tired fireplaces or new construction and large commercial structures. They truly are my source for slab work and all things related to tile. They also have worked for me on my personal home. I enjoy Carrera Marble counters and a limestone fireplace expertly and perfectly installed by them. They are a family run business with excellent morals, timely production and a wonderful eye for detail.

## Community Q&A

**Q: countertop material?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I would like to know the countertop material

A: This material is Fantasy Brown Marble.

**Q: wood?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me the wood and stain for the cabinets and floors?

A: I'm sorry, we were only involved in the countertop portion of this project so I don't have the information on the cabinets or flooring.

**Q: What color paint? Is it the same on the back wall and by the window?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I am sorry, I don't have paint information for this project.

**Q: what is the color of painted cabinets in this picture?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I am sorry but I do not have information on the cabinets for this project. We provided the countertops only.

**Q: kitchen counter Quartz countertops** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Will the swirls in Cambria Oakmoor be too much for my smaller kitchen

A: I prefer to see "wild" quartz or granite choices on a larger island, to really show the pattern or movement. I would try to imagine this slab cut into 2 foot sections, so you will really see how the pattern will look. You may be disappointed with how it comes out on your countertops. If you change the backsplash, though, I don't think it will be too busy.

**Q: Kitchen Sink** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I want 30 in 16 gauze single sink with round corners? HOW CAN I LIMIT MY SEARCH?

A: If you go to a kitchen and bath showroom, the people there can usually show you options that will fit the criteria. Otherwise, searching Kohler.com or other sink brands will allow you to refine the search by what you need.
