We worked with them on the remodel on our 8000 square foot vacation home in Beaver Creek in 2008. We had to gut our entire house, move the main fireplace, create an extension, add a new roof, create a new layout and add landscaping. It was a huge project. We are so pleased we chose Jeff to do the job for us. Not only was the quality of Cohen Construction’s finished work exceptional, they hired superb sub contractors to come in and work on certain finishes we required. We have received many compliments on the quality of work on the house since it was completed and have not had any construction issues on the house in the 4 years since the work was completed. Jeff was always upfront about his costs and the timing of the project and took great care to stick to his projection completion date. We received extremely detailed spreadsheets every month showing everything that was done on the project. And, at the end of the project we were handed three beautifully organized boxes with information stored in large binders on what work materials were used in each room of the house, what work was done on the house, who did the work, an instruction manual (if needed), warranty cards, and phone numbers of who to call in case repair work was needed. They even helped to receive the very large shipping container of furniture for the house as I was not able to meet it – service above and beyond that of a normal contractor! When I was able to get to Beaver Creek for the hand over, I was greeted by the welcoming smell of freshly baking cookies in the oven, a hand over of materials and the offer of calling their offices at any time to ask any questions I may have had. They truly live up to their saying…”Your builder for life”. We are truly grateful to Jeff and Cohen Construction. Robinson Brick has since been bought by General Shale. There are other companies that do a manufactured veneer stone. Eldorado Stone or Boral Stone are two we have used more recently. Manufactured stone is sometimes called Cultured Stone after the company that first brought the product to the mnarket. If real thin cut stone is what you want consider working with a quarry to make it for you. We have done that as well. **Q: where are the table and chairs from? Owner did a lot themselves and also worked with Howard Design Group from Coconut Grove , Florida. 1-305-446-4088 **Q: Do you have the make/model of the chandelier above the dining table?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: This chandelier was provided by the interior designer. I recall it may have come from Pottery Barn. Here is the contact info for the Interior Designer. Her name is Katy Allen of Nella Home and she was a pleasure to work with. She did a great job with her vision of the completed project and giving us the info we needed to perform. **Q: Do you happen to know the stain colors on the pillar and floors? THX** *(in Photo Questions)* A: The stain color of the post and beams is a custom color that was chosen to blend with the finish of the new cabinets and the prefinished wood floor. The actual color is not readily available but I can see from the pictures it is in the Walnut family of colors. The posts and beams are made of Alder. Its imoportant to keep the species of wood you are using for your trim in mind when figuring out stain colors. For instance alder has a red hue to it that can effect the finish color.
