> We hired Mr. Kahn to replace our counter tops, backsplash, range vent and install recessed lighting. We signed a contract that all parties agreed on. I told him that we needed at least one week notice for start of the work to be able to take off from work. He said he would start on a Friday and be finished by Sunday. On Thursday I asked when to expect him the next day and he informed me he wouldn’t be there until Saturday. My husband took off a day of work and lost money due to this. The work was not completed by Sunday night. He showed up unannounced Monday night with an updated contract asking for $1000 more. He was late for every meeting without letting me know. We took time off for the job to be done when it wasn’t. The tile backsplash was not finished off professionally. It had pieces of quarter round molding where tile supposedly wouldn’t fit. There are gaps between the tile and electrical outlets. My ceiling where the the wires were exposed was spackled only. He knew he had to be out because I had another contractor coming in Monday to do other work. The range hood was scratched. Throughout the entire process he showed poor communication and was never on time.   He said he underestimated the job. I refused to pay him anything other than what the original contract was for and ended it with telling him not to come back and I would finish the job myself. I definitely would not recommend Mr. Kahn’s company to anyone. I urged him to use better communication skills and accurate contracts to anyone he works with in the future. It will never be me again.
