Dehlco was great- team was polite, responsive, communicative and did a very good job or restoring the space as requested. Highly recommend, would hire again for future projects. **★★ — Mark H., March 2024** > We contracted with Dehlco for a large project in late 2022. The work began in June 2023 and completed in January 2024. The project involved the demolition of an existing 1200 sqft garage, the construction of a new 900 sqft garage in an adjacent location, a paver patio, and new concrete driveway. In addition, the main electrical service was moved from the house to the garage with underground service to a new panel in the house and the backyard was enclosed by a cedar privacy fence. There was a lot going on. > > I don’t have any prior experience with a job of this scale but, overall, I’d give the final results a grade of ‘B’. Many of the items were subbed out (electrical, roofing, framing, fencing) and those appear to be well done. The stucco and paver patio are good. The concrete slab for the garage seems to be fine but there is some cracking in the concrete drive (which may be normal?). > > By far the most frustrating aspect of the project was overall lack of communication. We never really knew from day-to-day if someone was going to be working on our project or not. Sometimes a week would go by with no activity at all. The Dehlco employees were nice enough, but they didn’t know who or what was next and neither did the sub-contractors. When we had questions, Matt was frequently unresponsive to emails until several days later when he would reply and apologize for not doing so sooner. When we could get his attention, Matt was easy to work with and issues or questions were resolved quickly, but getting his attention was difficult. As of this writing I still have an email that I’ve sent twice over a four-week period that hasn’t been responded to. > > It was hard not to get the feeling that we were a ‘fill-in’ job that got attention only when workers weren’t needed for another job. My gut feeling is that his crew can do good work, but they had taken on more jobs than they could really handle; or at least handle well. Because of this, I would hesitate to recommend them to others. > > Update: 4/12/2024 > Shortly after submitting this review I received a text from Matt. He apologized for not responding to my emails because they had mistakenly gone to his 'junk' folder and said he would send me an email with his response. That was two weeks ago and I haven't heard anything else. > > Update: 5/13/2024 > I never did hear from Matt again which is very disappointing. Future customers should be very concerned about support after the project completes. I've changed my rating from 3 stars to 2. **★★★★★ — zoniahorn, April 2021** > Matt and his team have completed three projects for me over the years- The first was a 2nd story addition of a Master Bathroom over our screened in porch-- a very challenging job that he and his team completed with beautiful results. At the same time he completed a full kitchen and hall closet gut and remodel job. This second project also included two single story additions. ALL along the way of these two large projects his team was consistent, professional, and kind. The end result is beautiful with super high-quality craftsmanship and any hiccups along the way were timely addressed. I was always confident that Matt and his team were getting things done correctly and trusted the job was getting done right. This project was completed in Dec/Jan 2017. I hired Matt and his team again to finish our basement- which again, they completed with such professionalism and high quality craftsmanship. We had another Christmas deadline and he and his team went above and beyond to make it possible. If there have been any issue after project completion, no matter how small- Matt and his team have made sure to promptly address it.
