The only negative is how long it took to complete the project -- his estimated timelines were WAY understated, and the project extended FAR beyond our expected completion date (both initial and revised estimates), which was frustrating to say the least. What kind of stone was used?

A: from the quarry Champlain Stone, www.champlainstone.com ; they call it "South Bay".  It is a metamorphic sandstone, extremely non-porous, difficult to dress, but beautiful colors.
