> Jake Craft had built this new custom home.  The buyer backed out due to their personal finances.  We purchased this home and were introduced to Jake through our realtor.  Jake was given our to-do list for purchase and immdiately got to work.  The construction specialists that Jake had hired were top cabin.  This included carpentry, plumbing, painting, landscaping, etc.  Jake was present on all occasions and the sale proceeded on time.  An independent inspector commented to me that he had never seen better new construction.  After moving in several normal adjustments surfaced.  Again Jake was immediate and thorough in responding.  To our amazement this lasted years past the sale.  The value of this home has grown phenomenally, although we have no plans to sell.  Steve & Beckie Kilburg

> I would highly recommend Jake Craft as a custom home builder.  He built our Craftsman style home for us almost 10 years ago and because of the quality construction, it still looks brand new!  Jake is excellent to work with and always go the extra mile, but above that he really is focused on the details of fine craftsmanship and it shows in his work.

> I don't know what my word limit for this review is but I likely won't have enough to give good concrete examples of how resourceful, diligent, and trustworthy Jake was throughout the whole process.  He capped our 10 years of planning and dreaming off with everything we were hoping for and more.  We had looked at 2 other contractors fairly hard after researching at least 50, we took the leap with Craft Homes.  He was patient with our needs and concerns, worked with our financial considerations and provided invaluable guidance to help us meet our budget and realize our dream.  In the end, we were 6% over budget and only because of our own choices.  Change orders were fair.  Subs were always busy on the house.  It wasn't uncommon to have 10 people there working at the same time.  He also built the house 6 months faster than the estimate given to us by another builder we interviewed.  All in all, I would work with him again in a heartbeat and feel a heck of a lot better knowing we could trust him.  We heard so many horror stories from friends that in the end, you just never know.  We probably could have written him the check on day one.

> One example of his resourcefulness occurred on New Year's Day.  It was below freezing and we needed about 30 dumptruck loads of dirt moved because it was going to rain and warm up the next day.  He was able to see the problem, find a solution and do it at a time when it should otherwise be difficult to find someone to do the work.

> One example of his insight occurred when we were looking at the windows in our kitchen.  When looking from the outside, they would have matched the other windows in the house which is exactly what the architect was going for.  From the inside looking out, however, the windows would have been a good 9" too high and obscured our view of the mountains and valley.  The thought didn't even occur to us, and now I can see what a tremendous difference it made.
>
> Along those lines, he did a nice job communicating with the architect to problem solve and get quick answers when he needed them.
>
> One example of his integrity was him calling out a window that had been scratched during the fireplace install.  It's not a cheap window, and he already had it ordered to be replaced at his expense before we could even see it.  I didn't know about it until I asked about the blue tape on the glass.  Same deal with resolving some heating issues with our plumber.  Same deal with repainting gutters which were incorrect colors.  He just did the right thing.  We felt like he was building his own house.

> There were multiple times where I discovered hidden value behind his building methods, and they were always after why I asked about one material or another.  Thicker, higher rated membrane laid under the metal roof, rubberized coating on the outside of the foundation, rigid insulation for cold walls, kick plate light sensor on bathroom entry, reading lights in the ceiling over the master bed......

> We are just very pleased.  Period.
