My husband and I finally decided we wanted to do something, ANYTHING, for our front yard. I had put it off because I own a business and don't have the a lot of time to take care of our landscape. I had tried. And tried. And tried again! I just didn't know what to do, but had an idea of what I wanted. I had seen many pictures that I liked on Houzz, so that was a start. Shannon seemed very open to what I wanted to do and eager to please. She assured me that I could have low-maintenance landscaping and it still be beautiful. I will say, LawnDaddy is probably not the cheapest route that we could have taken, but I am beyond pleased with the result. Shannon spent countless hours customizing our design. And for the pictures I showed her, we got exactly what we wanted and she took it a step further incorporating similar aspects throughout the rest of the landscape. Before the installation, I couldn't exactly envision the Mediterranean landscape that I wanted, but now I get to see it every time I pull into the driveway! I was so impressed that we did a pool planting immediately after the front was finished. Shannon hand-picked pots and all. Somehow she made what we had, work with what we wanted. LawnDaddy is definitely the way to go! Kudos to them! Adam Miles did an exemplary job on all the cleaning and trimming. The grounds look beautiful. We would highly recommend Adam Miles for grooming and maintenance. > Next, we talked about a landscaping plan to be done in stages. No matter what we said to Shannon Sherman she kept coming up with plans to do the total landscape. We then told Shannon how we were going to proceed, still giving them the entire job and semi-annual maintenance work. After this discussion Shannon took a very hard attitude toward us. It was extremely uncomfortable. We were still spending $4,185.00. > Shannon is very unprofessional and not a landscape designer. We never received the drawings we expected. We got a hand written explanation of what they were going to do. The drawings we did see were haphazard and not to scale. Consequently the work they provided is uneven, crooked, and not cohesive. > No contract was provided to sign and they do not warranty their work. They do not buy wholesale because, "the wholesale nurseries were too far away". > The result is we payed retail twice. The only warranty is from the nursery they bought the plants retail from. The trees were also wind whipped from high speed driving with no cover and the 3 hibiscus were planted too close together. > We explained that we wanted steel edging but were soon talked out of it. The plastic edging they used is crooked and not a fine line. They also shorted the stakes for the plastic edging which attributed to the pushback from the shell ground cover making for a very messy look. Also, when the weed barrier was installed it covered several of the irrigation sprinkler heads. Although they never discussed watering the newly planted trees we only found that they were covered when we turned on the irrigation system. > In addition there were several areas of the landscape that was included that were never touched. A front area by the garage, an area next to the lanai, and another area near the side of the house. > Finally, when they were finished with the job, they call us from the driveway and tell us they're leaving. Not wanting to walk the job with us and not giving any guidance as to how and when to water, as well as how long for new plants or even what pests the plants were susceptible to. It was obvious they were embarrassed and not proud of their work. > This was not a professional experience and while we would highly recommend Adam Miles for grounds maintenance and cleanup projects we would not recommend LawnDaddy for any landscape design or installation work. **Comment from LawnDaddy, LLC:** > Kevin & Rae- > We are very disappointed in this review. I am sorry that you are disappointed that we do not do maintenance in Fellsmere, Florida- it is just very far for maintenance. As for a lot of the information provided in this review- I am not sure where to begin. LawnDaddy Landscape Design & Installation specializes in hand-selected plant material. At the initial consultation, Rae requested the best local nurseries. I am positive that we sent you Project Proposal Packets that included a contract page. I did do a landscape design with a sketch app on my phone while sitting with you at your home while Adam worked on your property. We, as in Rae and I, revised your design to make it custom to your design goals. I spent hours choosing the best plant material for the design she originally wanted. Then you said you didn't have the means for the entire project, which is understandable. Life happens. All was well until you had multiple projects going on at once. Let's just say the environment became a little hostile and I did try to avoid the area as much as possible. You decided you couldn't do the whole project, so you requested your own landscape design 3 trees, 3 hibiscus-- from that point on I was no longer part of the project. I didn't know that was ever an issue because the project was done over a week in two different Phases. Adam did install many yards of rock, as well as weed matting and edging. He cut exes out where the weed matting would overlay. You expressed that you hoped there was a stake in each and every edging hole and that is not the way it is customarily done. He was there for two days and never was this mentioned. As soon as Adam went to his truck, it was now my fault. I deeply apologize for your discontent. We do warranty plants. We do warranty trees. We do not warranty rock or edging or weed matting. If we break an irrigation pipe, we fix it- not sure how much more of a reasonable warranty we can give. > As for us saying we were done and not coming to the door, there were chemicals (chlorine) from a pressure washer just sprayed on your driveway and being sprayed right over where Adam had just installed the edging-- I asked to be polite where you wanted us to meet up with you, not to walk into the middle of a project that had been on top of Adam the whole time. Did you have photos to upload? Three trees, three hibiscus, edging, and rock. Adam and I are a team; we both have our roles... She selected a variety of plants and trees that would thrive in the northeast facing area and let me choose which ones I wanted. Adam worked tirelessly digging out sod to widen my flower beds, laying down the weed barrier then carefully planting a palm tree and many healthy tropical plants. He topped it off installing pea gravel and the end result made me the envy of my neighbors. Lawn Daddy clearly loves what they do and are seasoned professionals. They are prompt, courteous and overall nice people to work with. They did not try to talk me into going over my budget and I recommend them highly.
