## Community Q&A

**Q: HELP!!!!! Majorly overwhelmed with what to do with our new house** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Can't decide on paint colors for kitchen and hallway and carpet for upstairs and bedrooms. Please only positive advice. All of these apps and google are tripling the choices and make the decision harder

A: Paint color is far from a major remodeling commitment. In fact smaller projects such as paint color, stain color, carpeting or flooring, can completely transform the look and feel of the house without a costly price tag. If you prefer carpeting on the stairs, a runner down the center will make the narrow staircase appear wider. Choosing a paint color (possibly a lighter color) that compliments the wood and contrasts the flooring choice would give the smaller spaces personality. Another option for the stairs would be to stain the top of each step and keep the carpeting only on the top floor.

**Q: Dramatic Mudroom Before and After!** *(in Before & After)*

Check out this mudroom before and after. We removed a closet and added a cubby storage area in its place, as well as a brick herringbone floor, reclaimed wood ceiling, and a paint color to really brighten up the space.
