Recently had a modular home placed on a beautiful spot in Trinity and initially hired an independent contractor that claimed they had over 25 years experience in building houses, decks, and carpentry. Their pricing was very appealing. I wanted one set of steps that incorporated two landings due to the quantity of steps leading to the back door entrance and another 12 x 12 deck at patio doors. Contractor was aware that construction would have to be inspected prior to receiving certificate of occupancy. The deck to the back door alone had 17 violations! I was absolutely devastated, angry, felt violated and taken advantage of. I then searched for a highly-rated deck builder to look at the mess I was left to deal with and be willing to remove the "nightmare" of the poorly built decks and rebuild so my home could pass inspection so I could move in. Corey came out and looked at my situation and provided a quote. Before agreeing to the price, which was significantly more than the initial contractor quoted and above my budget for the project, BUT Corey's explanation of how he would remove the existing deathtraps and rebuild with quality and craftsmanship that I will be proud of for years to come, his reassurance, empathy of my situation and heartache, knowledge, and ability to get things done with attach to detail convinced me that his company is the one that I could trust and know that he/they really care about providing what they promise and commit to. I was able to communicate with Corey or Paula via text, phone, or email; they always responded and answered any questions I had during the reconstruction. I do recommend NC Deck & Railing to any homeowner in the Triad area that is seeking a contractor that knows the varied building codes across multiple counties, whom to talk to at the local inspection depts to get permits, inspections, and to move the project along without the homeowner having to deal with it.
