I asked Kendra White, the owner/designer to meet with us to see if my husband and I felt her personality and portfolio fit with us and what we hoped to accomplish. Kendra is personable, relaxing, and very approachable. As part of our initial visit, Kendra was straight up about realistic costs, highs & lows, and acknowledged what we valued as our priorities. I believe her experience with kitchen renovations saved us money. Pheasant Hill Designs has a realistic payment layout and her estimated costs were very accurate. Her and her two terrific assistants, Crystal & Liane, guided us through the decisions with both positive and negative (honest, sometimes needed!) feedback when meeting to make all the various selections involved. The timeline presented was spot on, and seven weeks later we celebrated our success- a classic kitchen with modern flair achieved with lighting, tile, and paint. This included removing a wall and reconfiguring the kitchen layout, as well as a whole new bar and pantry area. From our very first meeting, I knew that Kendra would be able to transform our ideas into reality. Beginning with the general layout, all the way through selection of cabinets, lighting, appliances, and all the finishes, she worked with us to create the look and function we had imagined. She also created a detailed budget, with line items for each purchase category (tiles, appliances, countertops, etc) that was agreed upon at the outset, and which she followed stringently. This was very important to us, and kept the level of stress so often associated with renovations to a minimum! Additionally, her recommended contractor was excellent as well, and she worked hand in hand with him and his team throughout the entire process. While we chose to add on a few aspects to the project with the contractor, we stayed on budget for the scope of Kendra's design, and even finished a few days early. The kitchen is now everything we hoped for, and is the place we spend the most time in our home.
