> I have had the pleasure of working with Karen on several projects. Karen was an undeniable asset in selecting finishes, kitchen cabinetry and furnishing the model at our development project. Karen had great ideas and was a pleasure to work with. Karen was able to deal with budgets and deadlines on a fast moving construction project. She was undaunted by workmen and cleaners finishing moments before the furniture was to be delivered, only a day before the open house was scheduled. I got the sense that Karen was fully invested in the project, even though it was not her typical high-end residential job. Due to the ease of working with Karen on my commercial project, my wife and I decided to hire Karen Joy Interiors for our home renovation project. It helped to have Karen around to act as a sounding board between my wife and I, who sometimes differ on ideas. Karen was once again fully invested in our home renovation project, assisting us all the way from the planning phase to fully furnished completion. We wouldn’t have had the results we have today without Karen’s tremendous work ethic and expertise. In the end, Karen helped us create an elegant and comfortable home that we love to live in and entertain from.

> Karen’s insights to the architect’s proposed plans proved invaluable. Apparently, the proposed Dining Room length needed to be revised unless we wanted a bowling alley in our Dining Room(!). Karen proposed a Hall between our Kitchen and our Living Room, with an entry to the Dining Room. She recommended completely panelling the Hall, creating character in an otherwise nondescript space. Our Family Room focal wall was not symmetrical (since a larger window was desired on one end) and Karen was able to design a built in that disguises this fact. Karen also supplied an electrical plan for our Family Room, which was challenging due to the placement of our ceiling coffers (also placed to disguise the non symmetry). We worked closely with Karen to select our finishes. Karen came up with a unique stone/wood floor design for our entry hall. This creates distinction between the entry and open plan Family Room/Kitchen, and the stone is a practical choice for an area that gets a lot of foot traffic. The stone/wood combination was also used in our kitchen traffic area for it’s practicality, and continuity with the entry. Our kitchen island is topped with a ceramic that is imprinted with a digital representation of Calacatta. So, we get the look of Calacatta with the ease of maintenance of ceramic. This combination of beauty without compromise runs throughout Karen’s work. We worked closely with Karen in selecting furnishings, and upholstery that would hold up to our kids and dog. Our Family Room sofa is in a Sunbrella fabric that after several years still looks brand new. Karen came up with a beautiful design for our Living Room floor, and had it professionally painted. Karen enjoys coming up with unique ideas, that she knows her clients will appreciate. My husband and I enjoy our house every day, and everyone who visits gives us compliments. I always tell them if they want to hire a designer, they should hire Karen Joy Interiors.

> I found Karen to be very professional, energetic, creative and mindful of my budget. Her style is a breath of fresh air---lively, informal and very much in touch with how families live. She helped me complete a project I had started without an interior designer (mistake to go it alone!) and so she had the challenge of pulling together so many elements from kitchen and family room to living room and entry way--many of which were already in place. She was very responsive adn flexible. I felt she gave excellent personal service above and beyond her superb taste and I continue to seek her advice even though our project is completed.

A: Hello - This countertop is carrera marble. Thank you for your interest.

Can you please share the source of the coffee table and its dimensions?

A: This coffee table is actually two tables set together. These were ordered from Four Hands (to the trade only) several years ago. They currently stock the same style table in 25.5"x60"x16".

Who made the curtains?

A: These drapery panels were custom made by my workroom.

**Q: Hi what's the wall colour?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Wall colour?

A: What you see in the photo is a painted magnetic wall board, and I used a medium gray. Every situation is different i.e. amount of light, other colors used in the space that affect the color selection etc.

**Q: What kind of magnetic paint was used?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I don't have a record of the brand used, but it was available at a local paint store. The key is to layer several (3) coats of magnetic paint before painting the desired wall color over it.

**Q: Where can I find the "Nest" pillow?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Several years ago, I purchased this pillow from West Elm.
