Needless to say, the appearance of the buildings inside and out was dated and needed improving. We have a very talented Building Committee of owners, but felt that adding a professional designer would bring a cohesiveness and integrated design that would yield a great result. We were not disappointed! > > Amanda met with our Building Committee on several occasions to discuss design considerations and help guide the renovation ideas. The Committee loved Amanda, her insights, and recommendations. Amanda prepared several concept sheets with various options based on the interests of the Committee members as well as her own recommendations. She then obtained samples of the various options for carpeting, wallpaper, paint, hardware, etc. for everyone to look at, and at the same time showed the combination of selections that she recommended. After laying out the samples in the lobbies, building entries, and building exteriors, the Committee chose Amanda’s recommendations. > > Amanda then prepared final concept sheets for mailing out to our ninety owners for approval. Seventy-four percent of the owners participated in voting (which is a huge turnout for a condominium association), and all but three people voted in favor of Amanda’s design. When we started, my husband and I did not have specific ideas for furniture or for how to update the unit. We did, however, know the look and feel we wanted. We communicated that to the firm, and it was as if they read our minds, giving us EXACTLY the look and feel we were going for. They presented a range of options to us, from a complete remodel to minimal updates. Amanda and Becky’s thoughtful consideration of color, fabrics and other materials as well as how to maximize the use of space definitely showed they have the extensive knowledge to add lasting style and value to anyone’s home. Thank you! A: No problem! The island countertop is made from Calcatta Florence Marble, and the perimeter countertop is Pietra Verde Soapstone. Hope that helps! **Q: Waterfall** *(in Photo Questions)* Can you tell me what stone was used on the counter tops and waterfall island? A: So glad you like them! All of these stones are Quartzite and were procured through one of our local stone shops (Belmarmi) in Neptune Beach. All natural stone distributors will call their materials something different, but the perimeter and waterfall countertops were called Pitone Bianco and the main Island was a stone they called Pietra Grigio.
