Love the patina effect. **Q: Can i put a smaller range hood insert into a larger range hood?** *(in Appliances)* I'm living in a house I'm renting, so I can't do major renovations but I can do improvements and in exchange the landlord doesn't raise my rent. I live in a very nice neighborhood, one I can't afford to buy in, so this works for the next couple years. There is currently no range hood insert but a 42 inch range hood. In searching for a 40 inch range hood insert, the cheapest one is $679, which is a lot to put in a property I don't own. The range is only 30 inches, so a 40 inch range hood seems to be excessive anyway. Does anyone know if there's a way to put a smaller insert in safely? A: Hello everyone, The hood I actually referenced is one we are finishing up here at the shop. Please bare with me as the insert is not in place yet, however I took this photo of the underside of the hood. It's roughly 10' long, but the insert is about 48" so we have some stainless steel panels on either side to fill in the gaps. (We have a protective coating on the panels to protect the surface before install, and please excuse the blanket coverings to protect the rest of the hood). Now they keep taking orders, charge your card and give no indication when the inventory will be in. Customers have been waiting for months. I'm afraid that by the time my range goes in, I will still not have a range hood. I've been searching and when I find a range hood and look at the specs I find that it was mislabeled. I will be installing a 30" slide in electric range and am looking for a 36" range hood. Any experience with other brands would be appreciated. A: Hi there! I'm not sure where you are located, but our company (we make range hoods) uses Tradewind USA (in Phoenix, AZ) for our liners. They have excellent customer service and have received good reviews from our clients regarding the liners. We typically use their 400 series, and while we also usually install the 1200 CFM liners, they've worked wonderfully. It might be something to look into! The size you'd be looking for in this series is model VSL436622RC, but they're really good about answering questions and finding what works best for you. They ship anywhere.
