I reached out and explained to Ken that I needed to protect my marble countertops in my vacation home in Broken Bow Oklahoma and that it was also a Airbnb used on the weekends. I was charged 8k for my kitchen which is honed and my bathroom/bar area. This was if I allowed them to stay at my property which I did. In less than 4 months after application the seal was lifting and bubbling all over the honed marble. I immediately brought this to his attention and he came and looked at it. I was then told it was because it was an Airbnb and due to impact damage. The areas in which the bubbling is happening you can see it is not due to impact. It’s all over a 12 foot island where people cannot even reach. They came back and rebuffed the island and it happened within a month after again I have reached out and asked for a partial return, which I feel is more than fair and have received no response. This is gone on for over a year now I do not recommend this company. I was hoping that they would handle it ethically and that is not the case. It is very clear that there is a difference in where they seal the honed versus the polished marble and it is not from use. A: Thanks for your question. I will see if I can run that down for you. It was source in Italy. **Q: looks like honed marble?** *(in Photo Questions)* Could you share which type of marble, i really like the coloring being not so grey. A: Yes, it is honed but it was an easily etched quartzite, I believe. **Q: What is t/he countertop** *(in Photo Questions)* A: The stone is calacatta gold. **Q: Countertops** *(in Photo Questions)* What material and color are the countertops? A: The counter is definitely marble and definitely VERY white as is the rest of the kitchen. The builder who did this remodel is awesome. The marble is a Calacatta type, but I do not recall which one. It is definitely not Colorado Yule. This was, I think, our 6th or 7th application of Clearstone and I regret to say that we were not recording some of the details we do now, such as the stone type, the distributor, the fabricator and the designer. **Q: Bathroom vanities - carrera marble. Is that a really bad idea ?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I was set on buying design element USA vanities that comes with carrera marble. Looks so beautiful but was later on told by many , marble stains so easily with water. I m just wondering why would a vanity have something that is easily damaged by water especially if it meant for bathrooms ? Any opinions is appreciated. Thanks A: Etching is the issue with marble although some marble will stain. Etching shows up as loss of gloss, round ring marks from glasses, etc. You might look at Clearstone as it is the only product that will prevent acid etching and it comes with a 10 year warranty against etching and staining. **Q: How to get hard water stains off carrera marble?** *(in Design Dilemma)* We had our kitchen backsplash installed and it beautiful. Except when he rinsed the grout off he used our outside faucet (which is not hooked up to our water softer ) and I can't seem to get the hard water stains off our greecian carrera marble. I have tried calling tile cleaners to have steam cleaned, but they don't clean marble. I need advice, please. Pretty please. A: I would suggest searching for a marble restoration guy there.
