However, the work was not finished properly, and they did not do a final inspection of their final modifications with me. > > The main issue is that we inspected their work and agreed the gate to the back deck was too snug to the floor. This was an existing issue, but now it was scrapping the new flooring boards and their fresh stain. They agreed to correct how the gate fit. However, they left and did not show me the end result. They did raise the gate so it would not scrape the floor. However, the gate would no longer close. It did not fit correctly. I waited an hour and texted them to see if they planned to return. I got no response after about another hour and realized the reality was they felt this was complete, and they didn't bother to show their work to me. > > They were also contracted to wash my deck and porch, stain them, and do some other tasks. They did wash and stain my deck properly. However, they were also contracted to replace an entire stairway. They reused old sections, including rails that bees had eaten and I had previously filled with glue. They almost cost our family our lives. After purchasing a “renovated” home from DGS in April of 2023, everything began to fall apart. Mold left behind the walls, painted floor in the master bathroom that released paint onto our feet whenever water touched the floor, painted cabinets were not primed or sanded and all the paint began to come off during the first week in the house, multiple cabinet doors fell off during the first week and beyond. The WORST part is that their negligence caused our entire electrical box to set on fire in our garage, which could have killed our entire family and pets. Two separate electricians have come out and told us it is the worst work they have ever seen in their entire careers and that it was no where near up to code. Our entire house now needs to be rewired and our entire electrical box needs to be replaced. We have had to make other living arrangements as our home is not habitable. We cannot reenter the home until everything is replaced and once the city comes out and signs off that it is safe to live in. I hope none of you make the same mistake we did working with this company. If you’re looking for a good contractor, you need to run as far as you can from DGS Contractors.
