Over time, they had updated, though their style was more like my moms than mine. Since we moved in I've painted the uppers white, installed the subway tile backsplash, installed the marble shelves, changed the hardware to black, and painted the walls BM Grey Owl. My question is this: Should I paint the lower run of cabinets white? Paint the brown ceiling molding (it houses the lights for the kitchen) white? I had thought to leave the island as is because I have 6 children that are constantly kicking it when they sit on the barstools to eat. Any other ideas? A: I love the first photo shows your lower cabinet reflects to the molding, it bring out nice characters. The most cost effective way is just to paint the island white and leave the cooking side lower cabinet and molding as they are. You will find painting the island white brighten up the whole space and a clear contrast to the black countertops. Good luck! **Q: New kitchen** *(in Before & After)* 1941 Beach House. A: Love it! **Q: Mirror** *(in Photo Questions)* Where is that beautiful mirror from? A: We've had it for a while but I think Wayfair has something very similar if you like the shape. Hope this helps. Please like our FB page at CR Interior Design. :) **Q: Accent wall** *(in Design Dilemma)* I'm painting my bedroom. The room is approximately 13 x 13. The ceiling slants. One wall (a) is about 18' high, the opposite wall (b) is 8' high. The bed is centered against the wall (c) that angles up to the right. Opposite is a wall (d) with a sliding glass door on the side with the lower ceiling. So, that's where the light comes in. I want to paint 3 walls a vanilla color, and the remaining wall with an accent color in the blue-green family. My bedding is also in the blue-green family. Which wall should I paint the accent color? The one to the right of the bed that goes up to 18'? Or the one behind the bed with the slanted ceiling? A: I agree with Beth, the accent wall should be behind the headboard - depending on how much light you get in the room, with rest walls in Vanilla, a darker color will really stand out (but not if it's already lack of natural light) - good luck --- *Source: Houzz professional profile.
