> Hats off to the crew at Chesapeake Bay Cabinet Company! The pictures look amazing but it can't even begin to do my experience justice. The design staff and installation crew treated me like family and put an emphasis on attention to detail every step of the way. I even got design renderings of my kitchen and bathrooms which I wasn't really expecting at the start of the process. I'm picky so of course I added some stuff and the revised renderings came back quick. The sales staff was honest and let me know upfront if selections were going to cost more than I had budgeted. At no time did they pressure me in to buying upgraded features I couldn't afford which I greatly appreciated.

> If you are renovating or constructing new, please call them and ask for Travis Harding... he will exceed your expectations!!!

> DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
>
> I am at a loss to describe how our planned renovation with this company fell apart. We consulted with Chesapeake Bay because of stellar reviews from others and the fact that they would fit our budget for our kitchen renovation. The early parts of the project went smoothly - met with designer for measurements, met to put down initial specs, met to review revised specs for a quote - no issue. However, the early kinks we had with our designer should have warned us about the trainwreck that would derail our project:
>
> \- Our designer continually forgot the design choices we made. For example, we were clear from the first meeting we wanted 39 inch cabinets with crown molding; we were continually presented with designs showing a 42 inch cabinet to the ceiling. Though fixed, this was a sign of the issues to come.
>
> \- During our third meeting with the designer (on a Wednesday), the designer indicated we should receive a quote/estimate by the following Monday without a problem. Monday comes and goes, no quote. Emails are left unanswered. We did not get a quote until Friday.
>
> \- The designer continually gave vague or incomplete answers. He was unclear about what work the quoted price did or did not include despite me asking a very direct and pointed question. We never got an official proposal, just figures in email.
>
> \- We were very clear with the designer that we wanted laminate countertops, and even provided him with color and finish choices during our last meeting. Despite this, we were provided a quote for GRANITE. When we reminded the designer that we wanted laminate, the response was, and I quote, "Have you picked a color and texture yet?" - despite having these choices IN WRITING on the specs we discussed at our final meeting.
>
> Needless to say, I was frustrated and reached out to the firm's general manager asking to be assigned to a new designer. When we spoke, I was continually interrupted by the person I spoke to and was told I could get a new designer, but I would (essentially) have to restart at square one.
>
> Needless to say, we will not be using this company for our renovation. We have switched to a local competitor who produces custom cabinets - and who was able to provide me a written quote which clearly articulated what was included in the cost within two hours of reaching out to the owner. This compares to the 1.5 months I spent working with Chesapeake Bay.
>
> I would in no way, shape, or form recommend this company, not even to my worst enemy.

> Met with Steve Estes who redesigned a small kitchen for us and made it look GREAT !!! He kept us within budget and totally gave us the vision we had in mind !!! He did the same in a laundry room we're adding. We would definitely recommend him and this company to anyone. Any future projects will be there !!!!!

> We did a 5 week kitchen remodel this summer (2017) and met with Steve Estes at Chesapeake Bay on a recommendation. Throughly professional from start to finish. And the Eclipse frameless cabinets are beautiful. We also bought the Cambria countertops from Chesapeake.
> Steve has been with Chesapeake for some 20 years, and his experience was demonstrated every step of the way. Installers are company employees, too.

> Easy to work with and kept our time line on tract for deadlines. Stayed within budget and very friendly workers. Coordinated all services as needed. Easy Peasy for big jobs.

## Community Q&A

**Q: mi piace questo mobile, di che brand si tratta?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hello there! It looks as though the cabinets are from our Koch line - Koch Express, Windsor door with partial overlay on Birch, painted Pearl. The countertop is a Square Edge Laminate. It has Berenson hardware - Cup Pulls and Knobs can be found on the links below:
Cup Pulls -
\#9387-1BPN-P
http://www.berensonhardware.com/shop\_list\_itemdetails.asp?itemno=9387%2D1BPN%2DP)
Knob – \#9381-1BPN-P (link: http://www.berensonhardware.com/shop\_list\_itemdetails.asp?itemno=9381%2D1BPN%2DP)
The vessel bowl, faucet, lighting and mirrors were provided by the builder so I do not have any information on them directly. I hope this help and thank you for your inquiry!

**Q: what cabinet style is this and color of drawer pulls?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Good Afternoon and thank you for your inquiry! The cabinets appear to be from our Kraftmaid line - Garrison Maple, Full Overlay door with 5 piece drawer fronts, and painted Dove white. They feature Berenson hardware in Weathered Nickel.
Please let us know if you have any further questions and feel free to come visit our showroom to see some of our Kraftmaid displays in person; we are located at 5612 Biggs Road Richmond, VA 23224.
Thanks again!

**Q: Love the cabinets, what kind of a wood are they and what stain?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Good morning Emerson and thanks for your interest. This vanity is from our Koch Classic line with a Stone stain from the same line.

**Q: How could I use an industrial cart as an island/ kitchen table?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: There are a number of ways to accomplish this, many depending on whether you plan to have the cart mobile (on wheels) or stationary. Many times just refinishing the counter top with laminate, granite, or engineered stone can do the trick. With the limited amount of information I have on your set up and kitchen it would be hard to tell you what your best option is, but feel free to call our office and speak with a designer if you want to discuss other options in more detail. Thanks and hope this helps!

**Q: Love the light fixture! where is it from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Carol, so sorry for the late response...this is a beautiful light fixture though with this job we only did the kitchen cabinets & counter tops so unfortunately I am unsure of where it came from. I will do my best to try and track down the information from the builder, but I believe this is an older photo/job so it may be difficult. If I do find out I will comment back to you. Thanks and have a wonderful day!

**Q: I'm looking for a mirror just like this! Where did you find this at?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The mirror is beautiful! Unfortunately, Chesapeake Bay Cabinet Company was not involved with the interior design for this job and were involved in cabinet selection/installation only so we cannot fully answer your question. Please know that any information I do get to help you track down a mirror like this will be posted later; sorry we could not be of more help!
