Windows Dressed Up did all the measurements for us and installed the shades beautifully! The shades look amazing in our home! I would recommend this shop to anyone who is looking for custom blinds! **★ — C B, April 2016** > Very bad experience with this company. > > The owner does not take any responsibility for their installer. > The original order that had the rail color wrong necessitated reordering the blinds and created additional time and money spent on my part > Windows Dressed Up promised to supply the scaffolding. The owner denied they ever agreed to supply the scaffold - which it eventually paid for after much aggravation and discussion about what I was promised when I ordered from them. > According to the installer, the windows could not be measured correctly. If this was actually the case, they did not advise me of that issue and went ahead and measured - but did not measure each of the four skylight windows separately. > The installer did not clean up after removing the existing blinds. > I scheduled an outside cleaning company to clean after the project was complete, but Windows Dressed Up did not complete the job on time. > The owner continues to deny he has anything to do with the installer even though my contract for the blinds including installation is with Windows Dressed Up not their installer. When I did try to contact the installer, they would not return my call. > According to a Windows Dressed Up representative, that because they are a smaller local company, they are different and basically, do not offer the same level of service as a larger company > One blind was defective and needed to have a part replaced which would have been OK except the installer thought he could just fix it himself which delayed the order of the part by another several weeks. > The three blinds that were installed had light leaks and the molding material was showing though. The installer had to add additional foam to fix the light leaks. > I was told I would not have to pay for the installation and the owner then denied ever saying that. > The fourth shade does not fit the window - it is too short and there are light leaks in this window. > The owner's excuses keep changing. > > Please be aware that signing a contract/order with them means that you agree to pay the entire amount when they receive the blinds - not after install. I regret that I didn't notice that on the contract. You don't have a lot of leverage to get everything done right and corrected when you have already paid in full! **Comment from Windows Dressed Up:** > The window treatment itself was from a nationally known and respected company and had all associated warranties for the product. Yes, the treatment was ordered in error and a part was defective and we did immediately arrange to have it replaced and the part repaired. The skylight openings, where the window treatments were installed, were new and not a perfect rectangle, adding issues to the overall installation involving light leaks. > > The scaffolding was available from the crew that rebuilt the drywall and painted the room and they were kind enough to let our installer use it. > > Windows Dressed Up is responsible for our window treatment products and ensures that the products will be installed in a timely and professional manner. The installation company has been in business for over 25 years, but is not part of Windows Dressed Up, so we cannot set schedules, only arrange for installation, and are in no position to waive the installation fee. > > Windows Dressed Up's owners have been supplying custom window treatments to the Denver community for over 50 years and have a great track record of satisfied customers. Looks like there is no bar. A: These are likely hung with basic drapery hardware and drapery pins placed so that the rods are hidden. Wood surround has a ton of plastic (cheap window) including the frame around the screens, so painting is not doable without looking worse. Originally thought cafe shutters, but again, structure of the window takes this option out of the running. Cafe curtains with long panels on either end? There little if any depth to the window frame so using tension rods are out. Would like to privacy but allow more light in (hence the cafe height option). All ideas and suggestions welcome!
