And instead of being scared of what it would look like after it was done, I was confident that she wouldn't let us make a poor choice. The men who tiled were as clean as they could be and polite and trustworthy. The entire project, start to finish, took less than 10 days. It wasn't that they started our project and didn't come back for a few days. They were there everyday until it was done. They took care of EVERYTHING from the electrician for the heated floors to the glass for the shower door to the tile to the carpet edging. They even assisted us with fixing a mistake we made while trying to do something on our own. I had one minute concern after it was all finished and someone was there within 2 days to fix that and the problem was resolved. Share your experience! (photos encouraged) A: If you have heated concrete in your basement a rubber pad is necessary. The heat will transfer nicely through the pad up to the surface of the carpet. Rubber pads come in different thicknesses, so you can select which thickness you prefer. If you use a rebond pad on heated concrete, it will most likely trap the heat under the carpet. **Q: need help selecting carpet padding for radiant heat floors** *(in Design Dilemma)* which carpet padding works with radiant heat A: Rubber pads are great for in floor heat. They will transfer the heat up to the surface of the carpet, not trap it! You also have options for different thicknesses of rubber pad. I have not heard anything about specific carpets that are good, or not good for radiant heat.
